Tea Time with a Grandluv....repost to add link...

TEA PARTY TIME with RHONDI
RUBY TUESDAY with MARY
TEA TIME with LADY KATHERINE
One of our granddaughters, DEEDS, LOVES tea parties.
*
To make sure she continues to enjoy this fine affair, we have a tea party only rarely.
This seems to keep it special each time we share a cup of tea and a sweet together...
*
I can always tell when it's time and, for THIS tea, I got out the "fixins" for FANCY SANDWICHES.......
*
Our favorite is Creme Cheese and chopped pecans......
oh, how good they taste with Raspberry Tea, served out of a tea pot into a pretty cup.
I chop the pecans in her Great-Grandmothers little vintage, glass chopper.
OOO, we have an electric chopper but, somehow, it just seems more fun to use my mom's little chopper.
Just adds a little "from the past" flavor to our tea, I think.
For this little vintage chopper, I am linking with DIANE for 2ND TIME AROUND TUESDAY
*
Once we get the chopped pecans and creme cheese mixed together, our mouths are watering!

We are, by this time, REALLY ready for a snack, and a lovely one, at that.
And, just as we get the little sandwiches ready,
the tea kettle starts to whistle, telling us the water is ready for our
Raspberry tea...
*
We cut our sandwiches into little flowers, ....
pour our tea into little cups with heart shaped saucers.... add sugar cubes to our cups (1 lump or 2?)
light a sweet smelling candle......
*
and we have our afternoon tea..... in style.
AND, we are using DEED'S Great-Grandmother's beautiful little plates..
**
Of course, there's the left-over sandwiches with the middle cut out for us to finish off if we are still hungry.
*
I notice, however, that DEEDS little pinky finger isn't lifted quite as high when eating these as it is when she's munching on the little flower sandwiches!
*
This always makes me smile.......
*
Oh, how I pray that she will always love the "teas" of life........ and never forget how to play !

Have tea with one you love today!!
It will make you smile...

I think that is adorable. I hope when my grand-baby-to-be is old enough I can throw a tea-party for two. I used to have tea with my grandmother when I was only 7 or 8 and still have those wonderful memories of sitting by her old wood-stove in her farmhouse in Manotick, Ontario (outside of Ottawa). She has been gone now for many years and my memories are as fresh as ever. I love your blog. Deb

Nice sandwiches in the shape of a flower. It is nice that what I figure a real tea usually have -say, cucumber sandwiches, is like a cliche. The sweetness of jam seems to play along nicely with a wonderful cup of tea. The table setting and care with which it was created is almost worth more than the tea and food - the love is the final ingredient...

What a special memorie you are sharing with Deeds. I know she'll always remember you for it. I love cream cheese and pecan sandwiches too. Have you tried toasting your pecans first in a little butter? That makes them even tastier (and a little more fattening!) :) Have a great week!

BJ Thank you for joining me today! What wonderful memories we are creating with our grandchildren. I know they will always remember and will have Tea when they are grown up ladies. My two little tea party girls are 2/12 and 4 now. They have to have a tea party whether it Tea Time or Lunch. They love to set up their little table on the sun porch. I found them in my China Closet one day and they had set the table. I did almost have a heart attack, for I have some very expensive dishes in the China Closet. lol The table was sweet they did. They have not learned how to open my China Cabinet yet! lol Thank you so much for joining me today for Tea Time Tuesday. I just love the cloth, the lovely plates, Now I have to try adding pecans to my sandwiches! I love you kept the pieces, to snack on too! I love your show and tell, I had hubby come take a look at your Grandmother's chopper. We just love it, we never seen one! Thank you for sharing it!I just love to see things shared at Tea! Thank you! I had a lovely time at you and your Granddaughter Tea!
