Ice Cream at a St. Patrick's Day table....

I've set my ice cream table in green and whites....
ST. PATRICK'S DAY GREEN....
* NOTHING fancy, mind ya...
NOTHING is ever very fancy around SWEET NOTHINGS cottage...
but....
I DO love cuteness...!!
*
That colorful, sassy rooster back there came home with
me from ROSS last year...
He is, indeed, COCKY !
The green and white POLKA DOT bowls and pitcher...
came hand in hand with the rooster....
*
*

Isn't this a pretty piece of silver ?
I only have a few...they are thrifted...
I would dearly LOVE to have an entire set....
The dark green place mats are thrifted...
a set of 12 for $3.00 and they still had stickers on them...
Never used...gotta love it!!
*
O, yes...this little polka dotted pitcher is GREAT for
CHOCOLATE SYRUP to pour over your ice cream...
*
The little lacy plate...so pretty....
these belonged to MR. SWEET'S mama...
I only have 2...one with pink flowers and one with the yellow.
I don't know if this is all she had or if they came in a set.
They really are delightful...and so summery.
****
There's not a 4 LEAF CLOVER around these parts for a thousand miles..
so I just used ENGLISH IVY from my garden..
*
"Play like" it will bring us all GOOD LUCK..
maybe that POT OF GOLD the little Lucky Charms leprechaun is always talking about!!
*
This setting seemed perfect for a big bowl of ice cream,
with toppings, whipped cream, cherries..
I do love those cherries...
only thing better than a MARASCHINO cherry....
is TWO MARASCHINO CHERRIES..!!
I could eat a whole jar of them......
**

**
MR. SWEET'S setting had the YELLOW flowered plate...
and this photo is taken behind a large Boston fern....
*
THESE PECANS ARE FOR YOU,
KATHLEEN, boss over there at CUISINE KATHLEEN!!
*
She will be our host for.....

ST. PATRICK'S DAY BLOG CRAWL
Get your GREEN going...join the party...it's going to be fun.
I'll see ya there !!

Linking with TABLESCAPE THURSDAY

This beautiful, much awaited for magazine is out and on the newstands...It is pricy...$9.95 ... but I am told it is worth it. I think it will be one you will look at over and over.

I will have to add it into my GROCERY STORE budget and do without 2 bottles of my favorite wine...!!

The only thing better than your cute tablescapes is the delicious desserts you show. Oh, you make me want to run for the freezer for ice cream!

I love the St. Paddy's Day theme and the lace plates are gorgeous. I bet you knew those green place mats would come into play someday!

Love everything, BJ! :-)

BJ! It's wonderful! Love your dishes and that delicious ice cream confection in the cute bowl!

I thought about you the other day, BJ... do you have a Home Goods nearby? Ours had some polka dot cookware (casserole dishes at fairly reasonable prices). It's heavy as all get out... I tried to pick it up... so it would be twice that heavy with food cooked in it. But it reminded me of you because they had green and white polka dots.

I bought some blue, but I'm going to take it back because it didn't match the blue I have. Sigh. But it was a nice dream while it lasted. Just wanted to tip you off in case you have a Home Goods nearby.

Happy Tablescape Thursday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

With that pretty tablescape and that yummy ice cream I would say you are pretty "Lucky" as is.

I love the idea of using the little pitcher for chocolate sauce. This is a great idea and I never would have thought of that.

BJ, I like cuteness and fun tablescapes as you can tell from lookingat mine, there is nothingwrong with adding some spice in our lives at this stage of the game. Calorie free ice cream, who are you kidding, I can tell hundreds of calories when I see them and they look wonderful, I just can't have them.

Good morning bj, I am trying to catch up on visiting but never got down to you yesterday. I am timed out I guess.

I love your St. Patty's post. The sweet lacy dishes are so pretty. I have one and I can't remember where I found it. Yours is a family treasure, lucky you. Your table looks festive and the ice cream mmmmmm. I want some. Thanks for the pecans. I am part Irish and I am ashamed to say I do not have anything for St. Pat's day to show. I do have a pair of shamrock ear rings.

Your photos are magical from Weds. post. I think your camera captured the moment 'Perfectly' and the light factor is awesome. Good for you for getting that photo op on your camera. Camera ready, that's what bloggers do!

I am taking Cheri' to be groomed this morning. She is such a darling. I'll share the after photos. My sister will be here in a moment so gotta run.

Love you, my sister friend.

Cute, sweet, and tasty! That's you, Ms. BJ! Your tablescape I mean. ;) I love those cherries too ... one is never enough!

That magazine looks interesting ... MUST be if you're willing to give up TWO bottles of wine for it (you drink the pricey stuff too, huh?)!

Your photography is stunning (I especially liked the one taken through the fern fronds)!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Fondly,
Bill
