I JUST LOVED 'EM.....

I, like all of you, so enjoyed watching the wonderful
2010 OLYMPICS.... All these young people are so talented...
and SO AMAZING !
*
They just kept us all in AWE....

I didn't do much of anything the whole time the Olympics were going on
but WATCH !
Don't you just admire their determination !!
The dedication required to be THIS GOOD...AWESOME !

All our hearts broke for this young lady...
O, my....how she could be so focused to be able to skate THAT good while her heart was breaking
is something only a good athlete could understand, I think....
*
BRRRR...all that snow in CANADA and then WE had some more...
*
West Texas has had MORE SNOW this winter than in a long, LOOOONG time.
Did I mention that in 1956, the year I was a senior, we had 36 INCHES OF SNOW?
We did...
*
During all this cold and wet..not only did I keep our fireplace going,
I kept my CROCK POT going, too...
*
Lots of stews....hot soups....both veggie and meaty..

HOT WATER CORNBREAD...
*
I grew up on it and it is STILL a treat for MR. SWEET and myself.
We don't "do" them often...
they are *gasp, fried and so good, they make you wanna slap your pappy!!
Hot, right out of the skillet...buttered....whew.....

Hope ya'll are stayin' warm and dry...
SPRING is right around the corner so .....just hang on!

The girl skater from Canada was very brave, I am glad she won a medal. The weather has been really strange this winter.

The Olympics were awesome and I watched them constantly! Yummy stew and cornbread, can I have some:) They were just talking about all the snow on the morning news. It has snowed here in Georgia THREE times! What the heck is going on? It is pretty:)

Have a blessed day dear BJ!

Well this year for the first time in HISTORY, there was snow on the ground in every state. Wonder what that says for Global Warning!!!? I too watched the Olympics. I enjoyed all of it.

Morning BJ, Yes I too am so proud of the talented, devoted young people in the Olympics.

Finally the sun is out and 60 degree weather is predicted for the rest of the week. I have a bad back and a sore throat today, so I am not with my friend Sharon at chemo and radiation....
Just wanted to say hello and hoped you had checked out the list of Texas bloggers on my blog. It is growing so fast, I can hardly visit them.
Hope the sun is shinning at your house today.

I love Apolo Ono...was thrilled for him this year and that poor little girl. She's the age of my daughter and I'm the age of her mother. I could barely stand it and was so happy she won a medal. It was so fun to watch!

We so enjoyed watching these great young people too! I am headed for my crock pot right now...love it! I hope you won't be getting any more snow, us either...it's time for spring! Come say hi :D

I watched the Olympics every night until like one in the morning. These young people are willing to fail or be successful in front of zillions of people. I learned that one needs to get up and do something even if they don't feel like doing it at all today. Each challenge brings us closer to success.

Think I'll get out my crock pot like you and start dinner and snuggle up under a nice warm blanket in front of the TV tonight.

BJ, your stew looks so good! Mine always comes out crappy. Do you have a recipe you could share with me?

I'm ashamed to say that I didn't watch the Olympics. Not even 5 seconds of it. What was the figure skater so sad about?

Justine :o )

Yum.
Didn't get to watch any Olympics this year; I'd love to know the figure-skater story.
Hop over to my blog; I have something for you!

Hi bj, we too have had more snow than usual this year. Yesterday was unreal. We had 9" in one day. Today the sun is shining and it is melting. It is a good thing because this snow keeps us on our mountain. Bill took the truck to work today.

Yes, we watched all of the Olympics that we could. Loved it all. Canada was an awesome host. Watching Idol now.

Love that crock pot stew and I don't think I have heard of corn muffins like that. I am sure I would love them too.

I am taking a bloggy break for a week. Spring cleaning and projects that I must do. I reposted for a week. Some posts that bear repeating. Have a wonderful week my dear sister friend.
Love, Jeanne

Yes I too thought the Olympics were outstanding and wish they would last a bit longer but we taped some so we are still watching them. Your stew looks a whole lot better then the stew I was served at the culinary school last week (see my post last week). I am not sure I would be a good winter athlete as I hate the cold weather:)
