TODAY is a BEAUTIFUL...ROMANTIC PINK SATURDAY.
Our sweet host, BEVERLY,
has requested our PINK post be ROMANTIC...something full of love and romance, honoring the upcoming
VALENTINE'S DAY....
*
I am also playing with LIZ in THE FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE..
Todays theme:
PLAN YOUR ESCAPE...
*
well...
we are ESCAPING to a
GET-AWAY in my very own living room....
**
I picked a very romantic post to share again with you today...
The original post was last summer.....in the library end of my large living room...
*

One whole end wall is shelving and I am so proud of it and I do call it THE LIBRARY.
(the shelves were a THRIFTED buy).
*
I STILL have room for more books and I know that I will never, EVER be able to read all the books I already have. It's just nice to "pick a book" when I feel like reading without searching all over the house for one......plus, I LOVE the way books make a room feel grounded.
*
I've always wanted some pretty LEATHER bound books and I keep a watch over at Ebay for just such books.
I've not found any I can afford as yet....but .....I WILL !!
***

I am using a mixture of vintage, white dishes. The plates are FEDERALIST IRONSTONE, purchased at the BEST thrift store. I am always on the watch for pieces to put with them. The smaller plates are marked INDEPENDENCE IRONSTONE..all made in JAPAN. The vintage rhinestone bracelet on the napkin belonged to my mother. I just like the bling it brings to my table.
*
**

A beautiful, little hand towel with a pretty border and an awesome monogram that I have placed beneath one of the settings. I don't care one bit that it isn't OUR monogram. This came from Ebay...and I want some more. ONE is never enuf for me!

The beautiful silver candle stick was given to me from Beautiful Daughter...
the green goblets were my mother's.....
I SURE WOULD RATHER HAVE MY LITTLE MAMA THAN THOSE OLE GREEN GOBLETS !!
*
The pretty little glass paperweight with the rose etched in it that says "LOVE GROWS" was given to me by my kids when they were little bitty. *gulp
*

The olden ironstone pitcher...a thrift store find. .....
Silk PINK tulips..from the local craft mall about 13 years ago. I still love them to this very day.
*
Ironstone gravy boat and the Johnson Brothers olden sugar bowl are from Ebay.
My flatware is by Oneida and the silver sugar spoon belonged to my mom.
*

Thanks so much for coming by today
What a fun time I had putting this together...
I am also linking with MARY for MOSAIC MONDAY
**********
MUCH LOVE and HAPPINESS TO ALL OF MY SWEET FRIENDS, and
HAPPIEST VALENTINES DAY TO YOU!

XO bj

Evening, Dear BJness! Oh, your library is so beautiful! I love that wall of shelves and you really know how to place your books and pretties! That's an art in itself.
Your table looks so lovely. Your dishes and oh, my goodness - I love those green goblets that were your sweet mother's. She would be so proud to know you're using them.
I wish you and Mr. Sweets a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Happy Valentine's Day BJ! I love the way you refer to your beloved Mom as "my little Mama." My own Mom refers to her mother that way, and I still call Mom "my little Mama." What a precious thing it is to be the daughter of a mother who loves unconditionally!

BJ, this is such a sweet, pretty post, and I'm crazy about the ironstone you've collected. And your mother's goblets! I love things that are passed down through families. And how neat to have those wonderful bookshelves. I can't believe you thrifted them!!! I want to come to Texas and go thrifting with YOU! And the dishes, too! Plus, white dishes are great to have for tablescaping!

Your table is so pretty with the vintage linens, the tulips, the green goblets, and all of your special touches. I hope you and your husband have the best Valentine's Day ever!

Oh, and a Happy Pink Saturday, too!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hello Sweet BJ.

Your library looks fabulous. I will keep my eye open for some leather bound books for you. We have a used bookstore in town, they might have something. Anything special? Love your table setting. So romantic and pretty.

Oh what a BEAUTIFUL post today, BJ! Love your pretty table, but I feel like Belle in the Beast's library.. I just LOVE your library!!! I am presently trying to set my own "library" here, in my hallway, which thank Heaven is wide enough for such a set up. It is very patch-worky right now, till I can better match my shelving, such as it is, and the way it is set up so far. It will be nice when I've finished! But I LOVE books too! Some of my favorite authors, and many of my kids favorites from when they were kids.. Some given to me.. etc., etc.! Happy Pink Saturday to you, and a very Happy Valentines Day to you too! Love-n-Hugs! ~tina
