DAY EIGHT ....

TODAY is the 8th day of THE FOURTEEN DAYS OF LOVE with LIZ
at the BRAMBLEBERRY COTTAGE...
TODAYS THEME...
PETS
**
I posted this a year or so ago and just came across it again.
IT WAS IN AN EMAIL FROM A FRIEND.
I wanted to share this cute, cute story with those that might have missed it.
**
It's a real "tug on your heart" story...
***

An older, tired looking dog wandered into my yard one day.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
*
He calmly came over to me. I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
*
An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
**
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.
This continued off and on for several weeks. Curious, I pinned a note to his collar:
**
"I WOULD LIKE to find out who the owner of this wonderful, sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap?"

The next day, he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar.
"He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3- he's trying to catch up on his sleep.

Can I come with him tomorrow?"

I had heard this before - but still enjoyed it.

It is snowing here...did you get this weather before it came to Oklahoma?

Too cute! I can relate. My Daughter has FOUR kids, ages 3,5,11,14. They all have LOUD voices. I guess they have to talk over each other a lot:) Anyway, when they are ALL here for a visit... sometimes I say shhhhh! I can see how their dogs probably would like to get away for a nap too. Have a blessed day dear BJ!

Oh my gosh.. What a great post! I laughed right out loud.. and THAT'S A GOOD THING TODAY! I'm still recovering just a bit from the Colts' loss of the superbowl game last night. (0; I think I'm going to drown my sorrows in all the superbowl sweets and goodies I made yesterday.. and hope I still fit into my own clothes by the end of the day! ~tina

Very cute ....

I began the Super Bowl rooting for the Colts, then decided it didn't matter who won as long as the game was good, then by the end of the first quarter I was pulling for the Saints .... great game.

That was funny. I came by earlier but only partway. Ha. I looked and left, duh. Wonder what I was doing? WHo knows. I'm tapping my creativity and it's draining sometimes! Ha! Maybe I need to retire to the other room to get away from the PC? :) Jenn

Aha! I'm not the only one having moments - I see you linked twice on Brambleberry - now I don't feel so bad! Thank you!! :) Jenn

That is, by far, one of the cutest tales I've ever read!

I can identify with him currently. Our daughter and fifteen-month-old granddaughter have been living with us - in our tiny cottage - since the baby was three-months-old. Being a grandmom (almost surrogate mommy) at fifty-three is a lot different than being a mom when I was younger!

Love your post - as always!

Hugs,
Liz
