T'was a snow filled morning....

baaaaby.....IT'S COLD OUTSIDE
here in WEST TEXAS...
brrrrr
*

Ole MAXINE....
*
...ya gotta love her !
*
ANOTHER snow out here in West Texas where it seldom snows..
I'm beginning to think Mr. Gore has it all wrong about global warming! :)
*
It started snowing here on Thursday, after a nice rain, about 7:30 or so in the morning....
It's almost 4 in the afternoon and ...it's still snowing. Very light and fine, tho.
*
*before I can even finish this post, it is now, at 4:30, snowing huge flakes..
I'm getting excited now...
...back in 1956, I was a senior in high school and it started snowing one
morning and snowed straight, day and night, for 3 days.
My hometown of PLAINVIEW, TEXAS (only 45 miles from where I live now)
had 36 inches...THIRTY-SIX, of the cold, powdery stuff...
Need I say that...
WE HAD A BALL....
I have a feeling it won't be nearly as much fun if it happens now, tho!!
*
My summer time swing...
My winter time swing...
oops..I KNEW I should have taken the pillows off before this hit..bummer!
*
This is such a heavy, wet snow, it's bending all the tree branches really low.
*
An ice encrusted tree across the alley from our cottage..
using full power zoom on my Canon PowerShot SD 750.
O, I LOVE this little camera...
thanks, Mr. Sweet.
***
WHAT AN ICY STORM...
THIS CALLS FOR DESPERATE MEASURES...
Pull out the tea kettle.. and put the water on...
I AM NEEDING......
*
...a CAPPUCCINO
O, yeah, baby !!
**
....and a snack..
*
**
"...in the meadow, we can build a snowman...
and pretend that he is Parson Brown...."
*
WHOLE WHEAT BISCUIT
SUGAR FREE APRICOT JAM..SPRINKLING OF CINNAMON
FRESH SLICED LEMON....JUST FOR SHOW ! :>)
***
ahhh...I feel MUCH warmer now !
*
*
I just took some leftover roast, added GUMBO FROZEN VEGGIES...
sauted chopped onions, green peppers and celery in light olive oil and added to the Gumbo.
Is it called GUMBO if it's got roast beef instead of some sort of fish ?...
I don't know...but I know it is gonna be rib-stickin' goodness tonight with
a glass of BLACKBERRY wine, eating in front of a roaring fire in the FRANKLIN FIREPLACE..

YA'LL STAY WARM NOW.....

bj...it's just gorgous! How I love snow. That soft quietness. A closed in feeling. It's beautiful. I'm glad you get to experience it. I have a lovely memory of a snowfall. Several in fact but I doubt I will be in snow again..ever. Not unless there is something in the future I know nothing of.
Snow. Just the word fills me with a wonderful feeling.
Hugs,
Mona

I grew up in Texas...snowed the day I was born and then again when I was 12! Now, I live in Indiana and it snows FOREVER!! Oh well...I'll get back to Texas somday! Have fun and enjoy the snow, but stay warm! I have the same huge tea cup pot that you do! My girls got it for me on Mothers' Day...unfortunatly, it has a hole in it, so I couldn't DRINK from it!!! I know...it's for planting flowers, but that would have made a great coffee mug! That gumbo looks awesome! Think I'll try that!
Have a great weekend!
Hugs from snowy and cold Indiana

Glad you checked in on Blogger, Hon. Because we hear some awful weather conditions going on... In places.

Stay safe and warm!

And isn't it funny, how Al Gore and all those people in the Global Warming scam, were shouting at us, about Global Warming?!? -giggles-

Oh I'm all for conserving energy, where ever we can. But that *screaming* at us, welllllllllll... The proof is in the pudding, as we used to say. ,-)

Hey BJ, I am glad to see you posting today. WOW, that is a lot of snow. The trees look beautiful but dangerous leaning over like that. I loved your snow recall. I have some recalls too. In MI (snow country) my dad had to dig a tunnel so we could get out our back door. As a kid we LOVED the snow and cold. Well, not the cold so much. I remember wetting my snowsuit because I waited too long to go pee. Think about wool wet and pee. My mom wasn't happy either. No dryers back then. HA!

We are getting that storm tonight. Snow for two days. I better get to the store for stock up food. I hope my company can make it up out driveway.

Love the tea and snack BJ. also your gumbo. I think I will make veggie soup today.

Love and hugs, Jeanne

Oh boy! You'd strike Kenny's fancy with that Surfin' USA song. I think that's his theme song. That boy does love to surf! Your snow pictures are gorgeous! It is beautiful, but tretcherous (however you spell it). That good hot gumbo sounds good too.

Have a great day!

Love,
Martha

Hi BJ,

It looks so gorgeous and COLD there! Glad you have power. So many in the Oklahoma area don't. We dodged the ice in Southern Oklahoma but as of about 10:00 a.m. we have big snow flakes coming down fairly hard. LOVE IT!! We are only supposed to have 1 - 3 inches in our area. Our weather has definitely been crazy the past few months! Stay warm.♥

Hi there sweet Jean! Your photos are lovely; in fact, I've been here in lbk for a couple of days recovering from back procedures and have enjoyed the beautiful snow through the windows. Going home today.

I wish I got excited when it snowed. I'm pretty tired of seeing it this year, but mostly I'm just tired of the cold!

The gumbo looks yummy.

I wish I had remembered that 100 calorie cappuccino when I made my winter storm dash to the store! I love the stuff! Have you tried the sugar free apple cider or the 25 calorie swiss miss cocoa? I need lots of hot drinks when snowed in and these are my favorites!

You are really getting a taste of Mr winter this year. All you pictures warm up the heart. We do not have that much snow this year, but this week it has been bitter cold. I have never made gumbo and it looks and sounds wonderful.
