MY ONE NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION.....

TO ACQUIRE
MORE MACKENZIE-CHILDS PIECES, PLEASE !

SEE...RIGHT THERE IN BIG PRINT...
"COLLECT IT ALL"... and, I'm trying !
** I DO have this beautiful, large TEA KETTLE, sitting on top of my stove...
and see those cute cups and saucers there ?
Don't you think I need at least a couple of those, too ?
Thank you...I do, too !!
**

ALL OF THESE ARE ON
SWEET NOTHINGS MOST WANTED LIST....and I HAVE A MASTER PLAN.....
**

I literally DREAM about this adorable and awesome HANGING LAMP.....$275.00(now...here's the plan...I have $100.00 dollars of CHRISTMAS money...if I save and budget just right,
this beauty CAN be mine !!)
Small canister..$60.00...Medium canister...$65.00...WOO HOO..I HAVE THE LARGE ONE...just the two more will make me HAPPY....

***COOKIE JAR....$45.00 (I realize that I will be paying 45 bucks for a lid..but.....it's so dang CUTE !)

KNOBS....$22.00 ea. (my plan is to acquire SIX of these awesome babies to go on my black vintage hutch..
*****
It is plain to see, by these prices, that this collection I started a few years back may not move along too swiftly on my SOCIAL SECURITY BUDGET....
;>)

but, boy....i sure can dream !!
**************
Personally, I happen to think that having a DREAM, no matter how large or how small,
is good for the soul !!
**
It's been so cold here...like everyone else, all I can think of is...
HOT SOUP...

So tonight, we had LOADED CHEESY POTATO SOUP

with cornbread and onion....and sweet tea, OF COURSE!

O, and I just took this COCONUT PIE right out of the oven...and I have a pot of coffee brewing...come have a piece of pie and a cup of coffee with me..!!

YA'LL STAY WARM !!

LOVE, bj

A dream and a plan to make it happen - sounds perfect to me. It's easy to save for something special when you have those two things. :)

I love those pieces. I think it is a great dream.

Loved their stuff for years. When I was a single Mom I would handpaint whatever to look like theirs. Mr. Wonderful let me have my lavendar walls in the bedroom and never mentions my fabric stash...but the black and white checks may be pushing it.

So I'll dream with you.

Blessings,
Jilly

You definitely need more! It's not really a collection unless you have alot of pieces...at least that's my philosophy! LOL! I loved their Christmas trees this year.

I love her stuff too, especially the really colorful pieces as they go better with my decor.

Hi BJ! Go Google, then get back to me... I promise, if you love lemon, you will love this! its so doable on a fixed income... why do you think I make it? Here's the thing... its made with the zest of the lemon... not the juice, we do add a simple sugar syrup, but its not sour at all, its served frozen, but because its vodka based it doesn't freeze, it just gets really cold and its like liquid sunshine...
I can't wait to see that lamp shade hanging proudly in your home my friend!

Hi BJ!

Happy New Year sweetie!! I LOVE McKenzie-Childs - she brings art and fun to everyday things. I like to "copy", with much love of course, her style. She was my inspiration for painting the "fun chair" (high chair) for my granddaughter. I loaded it with checks and little flowers and dots and had a ball doing it.
I cant afford her stuff but I sure can try to recreate it!!

Stay warm down there in Texas!! BRRRR We're covered in snow here in Ohio.

Big warm hugs, Sherry

I never even heard of it before, but now I wanna start collecting it too. Who doesn't love black and white? And while we're at it, who doesn't love coconut pie? Save me a piece, will ya?

I have also begun to collect the courtly check (most recently the clock) I live about an hour from Aurora and yearly they have a barn sale with fabulous prices! My next "want" is the cake stand. Stop over to see my January 6 post...I got lucky.

I want a checkered tree next year so I am painting my own ornaments...I am using the catalog as a guide...very tedious, but I like to doodle!

BJ girl! you know how to live! Now just send all the children a link to your blog so they'll know what you'll be wanting for valentines, mothers day, grandparents day, anniversary, birthday, Christmas... one link is worth a thousand words!

stay warm! hugs. Dixie

A girl can dream! It is fun!
My blogger friend goes to their outlet barn sale every year..upstate NY.
She gets some good deals.
I have enough vices, so I am happy to say I don't have this on my list!
Your soup and pie look delicious.
It is snowing again here today...guess I'll cook and bake or something!
Have a great weekend, bj!

BJ, each item on your wish list will be yours, I'm sure. Good to have a plan, that'll insure success!

I am reading this at breakfast time. Is there any pie & coffee left?

First, I'd like a bowl of that great looking hot soup (it's cold here today)! And I'd like to follow that with a big piece of your fabulous pie (so much for my diet)! Finally, good luck on your collecting! Collections are so much fun, especially when it's something you have thought about for a long time! Enjoy!!!
