ANOTHER SILVER-LINED SUNDAY

This has been such fun to post about and to see all the other SILVER beauties in Blogland.
*
At first, I thought everything posted had to be real SILVER..
uh oh...I don't have much of that, at all...
But then The Gypsy Fish told me it can be ANYthing in the color of SILVER...
WOO HOO...
I can play awhile !

This is an adorable NAPKIN HOLDER I bought from the sweet sisters, KARI AND KIJSA.
I love the little SILVER colored weights to keep the napkins in their place..
*
I found these SILVER and red Christmas balls at CVS last weekend...
90% off...
I LOVE IT !!
They will make a beautiful POTTERY BARN knock-off wreath for NEXT Christmas...
*
This pretty SILVER colored ornament was sent to me by
SARAH....A BEACH COTTAGE
*
A room thermometer with a SILVER colored frame...
*
**
Awww...MY LITTLE BOY ! bwaaaaaaa
He was in 2nd grade here...
*
He is now almost (next month) 46 and is a grandfather....*GULP
*********************************************************************

WE ARE ON A DIET....*GULP
*
THE SOUTH BEACH DIET
*
We can have LEAN meats but never fried, of course...
We grill most of our meat as it tastes so much better to us than cooked in an oven..
*
Lots of salad, which we love...No salad dressings...which I never used anyway...
MR. SWEET just sprinkles his salad with lemon juice....
*
FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS...no grains, flour, sugars, starches, fruit...just about NOTHING..
*
HOWEVER, in Phase Two, we can add a few things back into our diet.
I just bought the diet book off Ebay (2.00) and it will give me lots of recipes
and ideas for a healthy way to eat....
*
SOOOO....SPLENDA and I have become BEST FRIENDS...
*
I am missing B.R.E.A.D.
BIG TIME !!
*
It's just for 2 weeks, tho....I CAN DO IT..
.....after the two weeks (we started this on Wed. 13th), we can add
WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR to our diet and THEN we can
have more NORMAL things, such as a pancake with sugar free syrup or jelly....
Or a biscuit with NO FAT gravy..I can live with that....
**
Desserts....O MY !
Well, sugar free jello is good...especially with SUGAR FREE Cool Whip...
*
...MR. SWEET needs to lose quite a lot
so i won't worry about the extra load on his OLDEN heart..

*
It never hurts to lose any extra weight we might be carrying around and
heaven knows, I could stand to lose some, too. Mine is ALL right around my middle
and the doctors are telling us every single day that belly fat is NOT a good thing...
in fact...it is considered the most DANGEROUS kind of fat...

and....we have to have
at LEAST 20 minutes of exercise !
EVERY SINGLE DAY....!!!

PLEASE WISH US LOTS OF LUCK....
THANKS !!

blessings and love, bj

Hi there! I just did a search for bloggers blogging about South Beach and came across yours! I wanted to offer you up some words of encouragement - I started my journey on July 6th and to date I've lost 70.6 lbs. I still have a VERY long journey a head of me, but I absolutely love my life style change (I don't say diet because I don't plan on ever going back to eating the way I was). The cravings will pass, I promise! Phase 2 is a world of difference! Keep up the good work!

Loved the variety of silver things you have. Good luck on the diet - you don't look like you need to lose a pound, but bravo for doing it for your husband's health. Take care, Sally

Such pretty silvery stuff, but BJ, honey, if you lose any weight you'll get knocked over by a stiff breeze! Does your doctor know the kind of diet you two have started? Sounds like Adkins. Me no likey. But good luck anyway!

I started counting WW points a few days ago. I do take one meal off on weekends because we tend to eat out...so, I had a normal (meaning with fat) lunch today. I do feel your pain, I just don't like being told what to eat. The nice thing with WW is I can budget in dessert if I want...and I NEED that! Luckily I don't have to lose too much.

As for exercise...if you don't have a Wii, buy one. It is worth it. I bought mine last weekend and started using it on Monday. I am a couch potato who really hates to exercise and I'm having such fun. I'll do an hour or more and even though I'm sweating...I'm laughing and I don't want to stop. I bought the Wii Fit and it tells you how much you lose and also really tells you if you gain. So fun.

Such pretty silver! I have been snatching up silver colored stuff for the table at Goodwill lately. I think some of it is silver, but most is aluminum. I might have to join in on this someday.

Good luck on the diet! If I can lose weight (when I never could before) on a similar diet, then you will be able to also!

Didn't realize how often you post! I went back through to check out all your posts since the new year. Sorry I missed your birthday, but so happy to see that all your friends and family made it a special time indeed!

I hope you are able to get that Mackenzie Childs light that you want!

You've asked how I've been. Actually I've been great! I'm happy and healthy and enjoying my life and my work.

When I come by your blog, I always get hungry and now you talk about dieting. Not fair! Just kidding, I have actually quitted eating bread for almost 3 weeks now. It works very well and was easier than I had thought.

I love the room thermometer! It's so pretty with the rose decor! The picture frame is adorable too and what a sweet ornament you got from Sarah!

Have a wonderful Silver Sunday!

Love your silver...I can't wait to see your knock off wreath next year!

I started a health program last week. Not any special diet. Just eating less food, more fruits and veggies. I am also doing sit ups and push ups daily. PLUS I am walking up and down my two sets of stairs for 20 minutes straight...I am off to weigh myself this morning to see if I lost any weight...

Oh what a perfectly lovely thermometer!

Best of luck with the loss of weight. Yes, we can all do some of that. But my Dear, you certainly look as if you are perfectly perfect, right now! Yes, that middle weight is a thing of age, I think. [Ohhhh, a topic on 'Gals With Grandmother Faces' blog!!!!! :-))))))]

And speaking of that blog, thank you so much for commenting there.

Believe it or not, I have been considering asking you to do so, again... Because you sound as if you have a marvelous handle on this aging thing! And it would be so good to hear more from someone who does have such a marvelous handle on it. For sheer encouragement. And because you sound like fun. :-)

I wanted you to. And you did!!!
Thank you!

Yay! I'm finally meeting fellow Grandma's. I only have one grandson - which is quite enough, thank you. He's 2 and the light of my life, as you well know.
Love your blog - following you now. I really need to get my Mom & Me blog going. My mom is 81 yrs young, teaches 3 step aerobics classes/wk, and runs circles around me!
Stopping by from SITS.

As far as losing weight, you look pretty trim in your picture, but I guess we can all stand to eat healthier. I need to lay off the MacDonald's fries. yikes!
I noticed that ever since I hit the 55 mark that I started getting a fat belly, so I really need to get it off, I just need to get motivated!

I am just catching up , I have been so far behind in everything! I love the napkin holder you got from Kari & Kisja, I havent heard much from them lately, hope everthing is ok. Good luck on the diet, I think we are all trying to reverse the overindulging we did last month. Why is it so much harder to get rid of those extra pounds than it was to put them on?
