NESTING....again !!

LOVING RED as I do, I have a lot of fun on this delightfully RUBY RED day with MARY over at
Be sure to check out her bloggy reds and all the others waiting for you to SEE RED...

This is the top of my green, vintage HUTCH..
**
This look was great thru the spring and summer...
Little garden girl...
Pretty vase with greenery..
Summery picture....
**
I was needing to change it out to better suit the colder days ahead...
plus...I am fickle...I LUV change !
**
I tried this look...
hmmmmm.....nope....way to different and heavy looking for a sagey green vintage hutch, full of olden Ironstone...!
*back to the drawing board...
**
I have quite a bit of whiteness in this lovely old hutch...
so I took a few pieces out and sit them right up there on top...
(was looking at magazines for inspiration).........
***
HEY... I LIKE IT !
O.....I could use a wintery wreath...one of those bushy, long stemed ones....the natural looking ones.....
but for the time being, maybe this green one will work ?
I can't be buying wreaths right now...Christmas is right around the corner, ya know !
**
don't you think this has a sort of english feel ?
I mean, after all, it is english ironstone !! :O)
***
I like the simple look of it all...
Now, my hutch looks a little on the sparse side...guess that means I need to go thrifting !!
*hope Mr. Sweet didn't hear that !! I just WENT thrifting and got a couple of goodies

that I will show you later in the week...nothing big or fancy or TO DIE FOR...just things that

made me whistle all the way home..... one of the items I think you will like a lot...it's cute!!
**

I'm sorry to keep bothering you about "what to do here" but ya'll are so helpful and talented
and I have had this silk English Ivy in this iron shelf through the summer...
what would be something pretty in it for the winter ? Something not very expensive...
something with berries.....
**
AFTER all this nesting and moving things around...O, forgot to tell you that I dropped and shattered a large, vintage mirror...you know the kind...thick, beveled...
cut my forehead...my arm and my leg..I am on big-time blood thinners so I was bleeding all over the place but not injured much at all...
WELL...ANYway...
Mr. Sweet came home from working at the boot shop and fixed steaks out on the grill...
I fixed a quick Pineapple and Cranberry salad, hot bread sticks and wine....
lots and lots of wine...
*really...only one glass each...as always !!
**
**

WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE DESSERT .....!!
waaay too full !

30 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING
I am thankful for being "watched over"; especially when I do stupid things like I did today with my big mirror!!

I am so glad you weren't hurt, BJ. That was a big bunch of thankfulness there.

I love the ironstone and wreath on your hutch and it has inspired me in a big way but I have to shush for now...you know, for a later blog...

I need help in the vignettes dept. We should have 30 days of vignettes, like in January when it is cold...

Your dinner looked lovely. I neverheard of pineapple and cranberry salad. You folks have the best ideas down in that humoungous state of yours!!

Have a great evening, BJ!! :-)

I'm sorry to hear about your mirror accident. I faint when I see blood...and yes, I do have 6 children. I've always had to sit on the floor while I doctor injuries, so I don't have far to fall :-) I love this hutch. Do you have fabric in the back, or is that paper? It looks great. I have a green hutch that I think would look good like that. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Marcia

My goodness, I was enjoying reading all about your moving around and decorating and then you slip in the fact that you dropped a mirror and cut yourself all over the place! Goodness sakes, I know how you can bleed when you are on thinners. Sending tender thoughts for a speedy healing and for your boo-boos to get all better.

Ooooh Bj, I hate to think of you getting all cut up like that! Poor dear! And your mirror:>( Sending a hug your way((())))
You know I love your hutch and ironstone, I like the feathery wreath too! What about some pretty greenery and ornaments in the iron shelf for Christmas?

Justine said...

Ooh BJ, the hutch looks perfect and I love the wreath you have up there now! Don't change a thing!

I'm so sorry you broke your mirror and bled all over the place. I'm assuming you got the bleeding to stop since you made your cranberry/pineapple salad thingy.

Is that your kitchen table with the black and white tiles? I love it!

Justine :o )

BJ your display looks so beautiful but more importantly I do hope that you are alright now. You must have given your husband a bit of a fright!
Please take care of yourself...no more nesting for a while!
Best wishes, Natasha.

Oh BJness! I'm so glad your were not hurt! You could have been poked with glass all over! God had sent His angels to guard you! :)
Oh, now, I love your green hutch - such a gorgeous color and all your pretty ironstone! I love your new look. Now your greenery in the wonderful ironstone hangy thingy is so pretty. How about maybe finding some of those little berry picks and just poking them around in there and leaving the ivy - it's so pretty and you could be spicing it up with the little picks! I don't know. Every thing you do is beautiful. Your Mr. Sweet is a doll! The steaks and salad looks so good.
Bea sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Wow, bj, I need you to come and do my colonial hutch! You have such a good design eye! An excellent RT post! Thank you for joining us! :)

You hurt yourself for the sake of decorating. Oh no! I'm glad you are ok. I'm always climbing around on the kitchen counter of ladders. My husband just cringes and fusses.

Your hutch looks fabulous. I desperately need to work on mine. You should come help me with my dining room. You know I don't have as much stuff around as some people. However, I'm thinking the room looks naked and I'm not sure what to do.

Your dinner looks delish!

I thrive on change, also!! Your hutch looks great - I love the red fabric on the back. Glad you weren't hurt too much with the mirror thing! If it was me, I probably would have cried more for losing the mirror than for the cuts. Take care of yourself. Sally

Wow! BJ, that was a close call, accidently breaking that large mirror! Thankfully you were not hurt! The clean up is difficult but at least you are okay! Love all your beautiful treasures! Enjoy all the blessings of the day! Hugs, Coralie

You poor thing getting hurt while decorating, I hope your boo-boos heal quickly!
I also love your hallway, the bench your husband made for you is the perfect size, well of course it is he made it special. I have been wanting a bench for my bedroom, maybe I can get Gary to make me one.
I have enjoyed catching up with you.
Big hugs and wonderful posts to read.

Hello Ma'am BJ, thanks a lot for visiting back and for following my blog.. greatly appreciate it!

Sue said...

I love how you placed the plates on TOP of the cupboard! Some things just turn out well by accident, don't they? I also like the front hallway from your previous post. That one wall looks so nice and full- there is no way I would put things on both walls. You'd knock them all down when you walk through. Especially if you have more than one glass of wine! *grin* Did I see a mirror on the opposite side? Maybe you could surround it with a design done in vinyl. I just ordered several from Twice as Nice on Etsy. They are so nice. They add so much to a wall or a mirror. Mine is ON the mirror. I'll post soon.
hugs, Sue

So that's why you haven't answered my emails! Got a lick on the head and forgot I'd sent them, huh! Seriously, I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse. Which mirror was it? I know it really upset you to lose a perfectly good vintage mirror though.

Those steaks look to die for! Yum! Who needs dessert when you have steaks like that and pineapple/cranberry salad and then on top of all that----bread sticks! Ooooooh my, what a feast!

Good blog my friend!

Love,
Martha

All stylish reds, especially that floor lamp. You have a beautiful abode, and the finest things aren't the most grand - but the number of nice details we see!

Thy payoff here is the dinner, the salad with cranberries a pleasure to view as well as conume. A votre sante!

Phew! That was a tough ending. Ouch for the both of you (you and the mirror). Glad you're okay! I love nestling and nesting things but I showed this to my husband. He said 'dusting dusting dusting'. I know I know I know. ONe day when I get the dust moved, it never seems to re-move, maybe I'll take a photo or two. :) So enjoying this. Thank you!!!! Jenn

PS At first I was going to comment oooohhh RED! I love red. I think you got the wrong red going there for a bit. No stitches, right? Jenn

I enjoyed reading your post and spending the day with you. That's messy cutting yourself when on thinning medication my BB is the same. Love your old green hutch and decorations and dinner looked scrumptious.

Goodness! I'm glad you are ok..and it was only a slight wound and nothing serious! I have never broken a very large mirror..but certainly smaller ones.
Your fluffing of the pillows and changing things around ..well...I love it and cannot wait to see the pictures when you get the greenery with the berries in it. I think I am pushing for Christmas decorating..and actually..I need all the time I can get!
Your dinner looked and sounded delicious! Sweet husband of mine (was a minister of course) does not drink anything...and I miss a glass of wine so much. We always had it in the house and it was so good with a good meal. Any idea's how to persuade him to at least try a tiny glass? I have tried to tease him into it by saying that even the Lord drank wine..but nope...no go! He won't even drink a Memosa (Champaign and orange juice at our brunchs at my childrens homes. Sigh! How I envied you that little glass of wine. :):)
Hugs!
Oh...and that little red table!!! OH! LOVE it!

Wsprsweetly Of Cottages said...

No, no! Not the pictures!!! The shelf..with the greenery! Grrrr...sorry!
