FOOTBALL ....it's in the PINK

FOOTBALL...FOOTBALL....FOOTBALL...
Every time I walk thru the livingroom, our tv is on ......FOOTBALL!!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR....
**
I just LOVE it that these big, burly and so strong men that play football...
WEAR PINK !
***
OCTOBER was BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
but we need to be aware of it
ALL YEAR LONG....
**

We need to TALK about it...
POST about it...
RUN RACES for it...
CONTRIBUTE time and money for the fight AGAINST it...
**
While heart attacks is still the Number 1 killer of women..
Breast cancer is the Number 2 cancer killer of older women..
***
IT IS THE NUMBER 1 CANCER KILLER OF WOMEN BETWEEN 15-54 YEARS OF AGE !!
***

We MUST continue our self-exams of our breasts..
We MUST get that mammogram EVERY SINGLE YEAR...
I know they are expensive...I was stunned when I found out just how much they cost...
Whatever you have to do to get the test, tho.....DO IT !!
Your husband...your babies...your grand babies DEPEND on you being around for a long, long time..
DO IT FOR THEM !!
***

And, please say a strong prayer for every breast cancer stricken lady that you hear about...
How they need our prayers...
A blanket prayer will be heard by GOD and HE knows the names of every single lady that you are praying for.
***
My thanks goes out to every single person that wears the color PINK to make us aware of the horrible threat of breast cancer...
I HATE CANCER !!
***

YES, MA'AM....
TOUGH GUYS WEAR PINK !!
***********************************
My love to all of you!!

30 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING
I am so thankful every time I hear of a lady that has been able to say,
" I AM A BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR."

PINK SATURDAY with BEVERLY at HOW SWEET THE SOUND

Happy Pink Saturday BJ...
Oh sweetie, I so love this post. We know several friends that have had breast cancer, (2) survivors and 1 that just went out of remission, and it is back. I too HATE cancer. We cannot encourage women enough to be checked for breast cancer and to have their mammograms.

I love it that the football arena has gotten into the act to support us. We are after all many of their fans, and we do buy tickets.

Thanks to the guys for their support. We are their wives, their mothers, their sisters, their aunts and their grandmothers.

Love this post sweetie. I just love it. Thanks for sharing. Please stop by and say hi. I would love to share my pink post with you as well.

Country hugs...Sherry

You are right, breast cancer awareness shouldn't be just an October thing. Too many women suffer from it. I'll say a prayer today, thanks for the reminder:>)

Hi BJ,
I agree; Breast cancer is something we need to talk about all year long! After losing my best friend to it and having a scare myself, I'm all for talking about it! Love the pink football and all your fun pinks today. Thanks for stopping by, dear lady, and have a wonderful Pink Saturday weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

So it's not just me having a problem getting mail to you? I think you're going to have to call Xanadoo and ask them what the heck is up and what you should do.

BJ what an imaginative pink post. Your photos are great. Yes the Hen Party looks cute and that little touch of red from the kitchen towel is perfect. How about that pink football! I did not take a single picture of the food at Thanksgiving, just one of the orange salad I took. Can't go anywhere without the Grands favorite.

Did you get your e-mail fixed? I just tried to send you an e-mail about December Pink Saturdays, but it was returned saying your e-mail box was over-filled.

Is there another e-mail address if can use to send this to you?

Great point, BJ! We have to be aware every month of the year. Because of the odds and the statistics that back it up.

BJ, here is the e-mail I sent:

I think we should do something special for the next three Pink Saturdays leading up to Christmas. Each Saturday we will have a theme, and you will need to share your response to the theme.

Now, I know most of us celebrate a holiday during the month of December. Your response need not be specifically about Christmas; just adapt the theme to your experiences.

And, since red is a "big" color during the month of December, we can take a bit of leeway with the pink. After all, pink is a derivative of red. Show us your holiday pretties as you share your theme responses.

Here are the themes:

* Saturday, December 5 - Tell us one of your childhood memories about a special holiday.

* Saturday, December 12 - Show us one of your favorite holiday decorations, and tell us why it is special to you.

* Saturday, December 19 - Tell us about your favorite holiday tradition.

So, put on your thinking caps. I've given you plenty of time to think of your topics. Do this however you like. You can write your whole post about the topic, or just share a couple of sentences. This is supposed to be fun.

You do not need to respond to this e-mail because I'll be sending the weekly e-mails for your reply for participating each week. I hope we have a great turnout for the December Pink Saturdays. Maybe some of you we haven't seen in quite some time will decide to participate.

I'm already thinking about my responses.
Happy December.

Thank you for this post, bj. My little sister has suffered from breast cancer and just found out she has to be on the pills for another five years.
Both my husbands died of cancer, my parents and before that my grandmother and two ...well..the list goes on. Cancer has caused so much heartache in my family...and now my baby sister.
Thank you bj..and I thank those men also.
It's a difficult subject for me.

The last sentence of your Pink Saturday post brought tears to my eyes. My mother, who died of breast cancer, never got to say that she was a survivor. But - she left a legacy of love and a daughter that preaches to everyone who will listen about the importance of a mammogram and self examination!

Thanks so much for honoring breast cancer survivors, those who are trying to fight this deadly disease, and the NFL, all in one post! Brett Favre was the best--we could see his bright pink cleats a mile away. And, of course, he was wearing them in tribute to his wife, Deanna, a breast cancer survivor herself...SITS sent me by, and I'm glad they did!

Look, Ma, No Hands!

Amen to that! All year long pink-awareness is what it takes. I love the post and the pics.
Personally, I think pink looks hot on my favorite players:D

I loved seeing all the pink during the football games.

My grandmother died from breast cancer when my mom was just 15, so I never had the pleasure of meeting her.

My best friend is fighting it now.

Stopping by from SITS.

I have never ever ever done a mammogram. I'm terrified of how much they would hurt. I know it's silly. And I know I need to just do it.

Raising awareness like this makes it hard to ignore, and maybe inches me in the right direction a little at a time...
