COMING HOME.....

I AM VERY PROUD TO SAY THAT MY DAD WAS A WW2 VETERAN..
I am very thankful for his and all other veterans service to our country.

VETERANS DAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2009 *************************************************************************************
G'MORNING TO ALL....
I am linking up with our sweet SUSAN at A SOUTHERN DAYDREAMER for
OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY... It is a beautiful fall morning out here in West Texas...
and I received the most wonderful gifts from a fellow blogger...

Aren't these little heart shaped measuring spoons adorable !!!
I just love them, Brenda...
***

***
I've been wanting this cookbook ....well....like forever !
**

Isn't it beautiful !! and it has some of the BEST sounding recipes...
I'm pretty sure you will be seeing some of the ones I decide to try to make.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, BRENDA...
I LOVE BOTH GIFTS SO MUCH !
**
I have SO enjoyed seeing all the beautiful fall leaves changing colors all over the country.
Out here on the plains, I have to look long and hard to find these beautiful changes...
but, I DID IT !!
A trip to our local little park presented several beautiful color changes...
***
NOW...you have to admit that this is beautiful....even tho it is on a very small scale !
***
I was especially pleased to capture the beautiful reflections here.
**
Ya know, before I started blogging, I noticed the pretty colors of our trees out here...I just never thought to take photos of them .....now, like all of you, I take my camera with me everywhere I go.
**
Since most of the time, I leave you with something GOOD to eat....
and I didn't have much breakfast this morning...
in too big of a hurry to go shopping with a friend...
:O)

So, ordinary, grocery store Mrs. Baird's Cinnamon Pecan Rolls,
paired with pecans, sauteed in butter and cooked to a golden brown,
with my infamous DUNKIN DONUT coffee, tasted pretty darn
(my mom used to say "dern")
good !!
Hope YOU had time for a delicious snack this morning !!

What a wonderful heartfelt tribute on Veteran's Day. You are and should be proud, BJ.

And I love your prizes. Gooseberry Patch is the best and I have many of their things...just not the cookbook. Let us know how you like it. Visit their website too!! You will love it!

Love your pretty trees. Not only do we learn to look and see and carry our camera's, our photos get better and yours are gorgous. I too, love the reflections in your last pictures. And I ADORE the quote!!

Oh how I love the fall and all the beautiful colors! Your pictures are amazing! Isn't it funny how blogging makes you see the world differently? I have found it helps me open my eyes a little wider and to remember things a little better. Especially the things my son says and does. I am glad you had your camera with you and could get those pictures. And what a wonderful blogging friend you have who sent you those gifts! What a lucky woman you are.

Your fall colors are just lovely. It was so nice to see yours since nearly all of mine have landed on the ground and been raked up.

My dad, too, served in WWII. It was an amazing time in our nation filled with heroes on the battlefield and here at home.

Hello BJ...

My friend, what fabulous Fall photos!!! I guess that I've never really been out in west Texas in the Autumn...I didn't realize that ya'll had such a beautiful show of color!!! In south Texas, we didn't see much change in the color of the trees! That was one of the reasons that I love living in Colorado so much! Anyway...your photos...gorgeous!!! I especially like the last photo...you caught the reflection beautifully!!!

Ahhh...I just love those little heart shaped measuring spoons and the sweet cookbook! Congratulations, my friend...for winning Brenda's sweet giveaway!

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

PS...I'm so very thankful for all the brave men and women who have served our great country...God Bless them all!!!

Dear BJ, the tribute to your father is so sweet. I posted about our veterans and soldiers in a heartfelt plea to keep God and our faith free. I hope I wasn't too strong about it. I feel strongly about it though.

Your photos of the trees in color are so beautiful. Especially those on the water. You took great photos BJ. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous fall.
Here in Western Carolina, all the leaves have fallen. This rain from Ida has finished them off. We had another mud and rock slide on one of the main roads. It is still pouring today. Sigh.

I could go for a pecan cinnamon roll right now. But only if you make the pecans to put on it. Smile. I have tried to makes pecans in butter golden brown and they were more like chocolate brown. Beverly was telling me how to roast them, but I failed. I guess I'm still a Yankee and we never even ate peacans in MI. We ate black walnuts from a tree in our yard. Our farm house is still there for over 100 years but the tree is gone.

Our little Cheri' cried most of the night in her crate. I took her out at 4:00 am and she pooped for several minutes. Lesson...make sure she does her business before she goes to bed. LOL. It has been over 16 years since we had a puppy. She is adorable.

Well, I will sign off on this chapter for today.

Love and hugs xoxo, Jeanne

Wonderful post BJ. I loved the tribute to your father and all of our armed forces. And you do have some beautiful fall color there. We haven't had much here in our little town, I assume due to the drought (which seems to be breaking, praise the Lord!) And those measuring spoons are precious! Thanks for the morning snack, ran out of the house without breakfast this morning. Good ole' Mrs. Bairds is always a life saver. Kathy
