MY MANY FACES OF FALL....

SEPTEMBER 22ND.....
THE FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN
and
is having an AUTUMN PARTY...

WOO HOO....
***

I have made several different autumn looks for different tables around SWEET NOTHINGS..

Fallness all around the cottage....
**
***
***

This is an arrangement with real goards and squash that I made for my coffee table....
I looked and looked and looked for leaves that were turning but, people.....
our trees are still green here....I just knew these oaks would turn by now but it's still just a little early...
****
***

Around here, we HAD to have a black polka dot pumpkin...
to go along with the white one.....
***

I had to use faux autumn leaves for just a tad of color....

and I must have taken about 10 million photos of my
BLACK AND WHITE pumpkin....they ALL came out with it looking like a big bowling ball..!!!
***
*

A little of the more traditional pumpkins...

***

***

These are the plants that, as fall advances, they turn colors...
Haven't a clue as to their name but just a week ago, they weren't NEARLY this red....
***
***

I hope YOUR autumn is as wonderful as mine has been....
***
Be sure to stop over at RHONDI'S....she has a BEAUTIFUL party going on over there!!

I just adore the pumpkin in the blue chair! You always make everything look so pretty. I think that plant is Autumn Joy Sedum or one of the sedums.

Hey you asked about our wallpaper project. It worked great to texture over the wallpaper in the kitchen. The wallpaper was original and still very tightly stuck to the walls. Now with that said, I am chicken to do the same process in the bathroom because of the humidity. Sorry!

Hi BJness! Oh, what wonderful Fallness you have! Those little squash candle holders you've made are darling! How long will they last? Love the little pumpkin in the little blue chair! So cute. Thanks for a cookie!

Hi BJ....everything looks so happy! I love the 'life' in your decorating. Adorable!!

BJ, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! First I hop on over to Shelia's to see her fall stuff and practically cry. now I come here and wanna cry some more! Why? Because I have no fall decor! The only holiday I ever decorate for is Christmas, but now I want fall stuff! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I really need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby, don't I? But then Jimmy will bitch and complain about me spending money on stuff we don't need. But dammit, I live in FL and don't GET FALL. Can't I at least pretend? Once again, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

It may be hotter than you-know-what over here in Phoenix, but your tablescapes just put me over the edge.... in the mood! No question, Fall's my favorite season.
Your Willow-Tree angels are so precious; I'd love to invite them over here to "play" with my own willow-girls.

Have yourself a great new week, OK?

Hi BJ...

Coming over for the Welcome Fall Party, my friend! Ohhh my...you do have your sweet cottage dressed up in all its Fall finery! It's gorgeous, Darlin'! I really enjoyed each and every Fall vignette! Girl, I love the idea of cutting the acorn squash in half and using them for candleholders...that's fabulous!!! Love that pretty wicker tray that you have that vitgnette done up on too!!! Ohhh...and your fabulous Fall table...love, love, LOVE IT! Love the pretty fall plate! BJ, that gold tablecloth is soooo beautiful! It's absolutely perfect for Fall...such pretty colors!!!

Also wanted to let you know that I visited your Met Monday post! Girlfriend, I just can't believe your dining room transformation!!! I love the board and batton...it gave that room such a sweet cottagy ambiance...beautiful!!! Mr. Sweets did a great job!!!

Okay, I know that this note is getting really long but I seen your comment over at Staceys where you were asking her about painting over wall paper! Just wanted to tell you that my mom just painted over the wallpaper she had in her bath and it turned out beautifully!!! The wallpaper she had up was a fairly heavy paper...almost with a vinyl feel! It is holding the paint just fine and it now just looks like a painted wall! Just thought I'd let you know...

Warmest wishes and Happy Fall, Darlin'!
Love ya,
Chari
PS...my girls have told me that Texas is finally getting some long needed rain! Hope that ya'll are getting some as well!

I'm sure someone else has already told you the name of that plant. It is Sedum Autumn Joy. Love it! And I'm loving every single thing I just oohed and aahed over here. Love that idea with the candles in the (cut in half squash?) I think that's what it was. That one made me drool. Also that polka dotted pumpkin. The quilt...I can't tell you how many times my heart sped up over that gorgeous quilt. Did you make it? I don't have a fall-themed quilt. Gonna have to do something about that. I love your house!
