OH BJ!!!! You are SOOO clever!! They look almost exactly the same and the price is ten times more lovable! Okay, now you have me looking around at what I can spray paint black and change up real quick! LOL! Okay...I have math homework (ew) I guess I won't be doing anything for a little bit. *Sniffle*....
Hugs,
Dena
Hi BJ,
Oh my goodness - you are so creative. . . who needs a lot of money to buy things when creativity is more fun and just as good or better in your case.
Please take a look at the Pet Parade post I did on the scarf project - you can see the video by clicking on the link on my blog - it is so moving and the pets are adorable. Thank you for supporting the wonderful pet cause.
Blessings,
Erin
I think I actually like the painted candlesticks better because of their shape!
Very industrious, BJ! I actually like yours much better!
Anne
Lady BJ, Now aren't you the lucky one to find those tall candle holders...you scored real big on that...then spraying them black..sure look like the Pottery Barn ones to me.
Keep on checking out those thrift centers for such bargains.
LOVE THEM~! How great your found them. They are just perfect painted black. Can't wait to see what you do with the table...
xo
Penny
Way to go!! They really do look like Pottery Barn. I wonder if Pottery Barn knows that we live to copy their expensive stuff?
Great deal. Gotta love that spray paint!
Whoever invented black spray paint should be rich from royalties by now!! Your candle sticks are a great knockoff of the PB ones - and the price is super. You're so clever. Sally
Hi BJ....those candlesticks and the mums are gorgeous!!!
I like your music. :-)
Hugs, Barb
Oh, they are just wonderful. What a terrific find. I love really big candlesticks. They are so pretty. Great job. Hugs, Marty

Oh my goodness, those candlesticks are FABULOUS! Girl, you did good!
BJ, you are a genius! I have this huge brass candlestick that's been sitting in my shop for months...why didn't I think to paint it black? Hello! That thing is going black the second I get my hands on it. Great transformation and inspiration! Thanks!
Wow! You did a great job! I like the ones you painted better. I am looking forward to seeing what you will do with the table. Have a great evening.
Sandra
BJ those candlesticks are absolutely perfect. I can hardly wait to see what you do with the table.
God bless.
To be honest BJ I think a good polish would bring those brass candle sticks back to their former glory and would certainly add a touch of gold to any Fall display just as they are.
I can understand you wanting to make over that old table though.
BTW I am having a giveaway if you would like to pop by.
Hugs,
Sandi
You go girl!! Perfect match!
You bought those at a bargain.
Your East Texas Neighbor
I was in the outlet again today...
Yours looks every bit as good as theirs!! Fabulous!
Wow! I definitely love your candlesticks better! You did so good girl! I thought for a minute you were going to take the legs off your little table and make candlesticks out of those as well, but now I guess I will have to come back to see what you did with your little table.
Thanks for sharing and please swing by my place. Take care!
How clever and how nice to get your own version of something that you've wanted!
Not only do your candle sticks look absolutely great, but you are recycling which is great for the environment, helping employ people at the thrift store and the paint store, and using your creativity to see the treasure that was waiting for you. Thank you for sharing this on your blog, it's inspirational.
I like your gorgeous candlesticks better than the Pooootery Barn ones anyway! Yours have charm and they make YOU smile when you look at them!
~Really Rainey~
Those look great, BJ! They are exactly like the PB candle sticks at a much better price:-)!
How do you do it??? You find a pot of clay and turn it into a pot of gold! Those candlesticks are absolutely gorgeous! Bet the little table is going into that about to be painted bedroom! You are just so smart! That picture header is just beautiful!!!!! You should have that printed and framed! Just loved the whole blog today.
Love,
Martha
I love Pottery Barn, too. But you know what - can't tell the difference. Good job!
Carol
Hello BJ ~
Yes, I drool over the PB magazines - I love to steal their ideas....I always keep my eye out for those huge candlesticks - never thought there were brass ones for forever ago....wow - they probably will last much longer and make a great weapon , LOL !
Love that little table too ! Can hardly wait to see her after you give her some of that love !
Kammy
Wow! What a great transformation. They look every bit as good, and you still get to pay the electric bill lol. Can't wait to see what you do with the table. Oh, and those mums are beautiful. It may be safe to plant something again, we've had rain! Kathy
What a find BJ! Now arent you glad you didn't spend all that $$ at PB? I can hardly tell the difference between the expensive set and your beautiful thrifty set! I love the legs on that little table!
Wow girl those look great ! I don't think anything makes me any better than when I can do something like this and save a ton of money ! Makes you feel so smart doesn't it ?? LOL
I would love for you to join me at Diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com for Crock Pot Wednesday. There are some delicious slow cooker recipes being posted there. Come check it out.
Woooooooo hoooooooooo! Yours look just as good, if not better!
Justine :o )
Love those candle sticks -- yours are much better :)
Not only do they look great, they have a great story to go with them! You have a good eye for seeing the possibilities and making things happen.
Wow, those look fantastic painted black! They are just as nice as the PB ones for a fraction of the cost. Well done!
Jane
BJ,
Your candle holders look fabulous! I even like them better than pottery barns. I can't believe the price that they are asking for theirs. Another great makeover! AI can't wait to see what you do with the table.
hugs,
Debbie
You made some remarkable finds. More fun still because they so closely resemble more expensive items. Great job! I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Oh, BJ, I love your bargain candlesticks painted black. You go girl, they are a great match for the high dollar ones. In fact I had to really study them to see that they were the brass ones. I'm not kidding. I thought you broke down and bought a pair. Now, what are you going to do with that cute table? Work magic, I am sure.
I have learned to be so much more thrifty when I read your blog. I love that about you my sister friend. Retirement is such a pinch on the budget. No frivolous spending here anymore, but just look what we can do. You inspire me.
Hugs and love, Jeanne
PS, don't miss my post today. I think you will love it. BIG smile.
Awesome find and yes awesome in black!
You were there at the right time to find all these neat items. When I go there is nothing left I care about. You will do just fine when you reach 80 if you stay active and maintain a positive attitude. Also, you need to move, no sitting around.
Awesome, BJ. They look awesome. I am so loving them.
Now, hurry up and show me more.
Love ya. ;-)
Hello BJ,
What a great find. I think your candlesticks look fabulous and I certainly like your price much more than I PB's!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the table. It has so many possibilities.
~ Tracy
You know how to find the good stuff, BJ! I love to look at Pottery Barn catalog, but never order anything. Just try and mimic! Your candlesticks are beautiful. I can just see them at Xmas with big red candles on them!
Brenda
BJ!! You did fabulous painting those candle sticks and I really had to look hard and close to see that they were not the Pottery Barn ones! Way to go girl!! YOU done good - as my family would say.
smiles,
becky
BJ...I love your tall candle sticks...great job and even greater savings $$$$$$$$. Where there's a will there's a way! Now sit back and enjoy those beauties!!! xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...
BJ -
You're a "visionary". You have the vision to see past the obvious and come up with a real winner. The candlesticks look so much like the "real thing". But I like them better...more in my price range...
Great job!
Jane (Artfully Graced)
What great deals! Your candlesticks look great in black and I can't wait to see what you do with the table.
Gretchen
BJ you are a woman after my own heart! Cause I LOVE a thrifty find. And your candle sticks are AWESOME! I'd never know they weren't the 'real deal'. ;-)
Your candlesticks look better than the PB ones...great deal on them, too!
Hello Dearheart...
Ohhh...I'm so happy for you!!! Don't you just love it when something like this comes into fruition? OMG...Girl, I love your version of the big, chunky candleholders...in fact, I like them much better! Can you even imagine spending $149 on a candleholder? Your's at $4.99 just makes them much sweeter!!! You know, I have a few of those brass candleholders...kind of out dated...but I can't just get rid of them. Cindy over at Applestone Cottage also spray painted hers...I never thought about doing that! I guess the paint adhers to the metal fairly good? I want to give mine a new look!
Ohhh Girlfriend, I love your little table...can't wait to see what you do with it!
Warmest wishes and Happy Fall!
Chari
wow--did you have to prime those first or what??? nice!
With the $122 you 'saved' you can buy lots more bargains! Amazing! How did they come up with a price like $2.92, anyway? Seems odd to me. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!
Love those candles!! You did such a great job!! Love your blog, happy sat SITS sharefest!!!
Love those candlesticks! I'm been looking for something substantial for a long time -- great find and re-do!
The candlesticks turned out great! I'm jealous! LOL!
