A COUNTRY FRENCH GOOD MORNING......

I JUST LOVE doing tablescapes....

My thanks to SUSAN ...such a classy host for this delightful and fun day..We ALL love playing with our dishes..

I decided to do a COUNTRY FRENCH breakfast this morning......sooo, out came my FARM ANIMALS dishes that I bought about 5 or 6 years ago at a thrift store. I don't have a complete set and I watch for them all the time to add to the pieces I do have..

COUNTRY FRENCH seems to call for red gingham napkins...

and the little TAR GAY' birds fit right into the french theme...
the French are all about animals and chickens, ya know....

*** This country setting just calls for farm fresh eggs....
***
"Is it you, KATHLEEN, that has a set of these dishes and said they remind you of sponge ware?"
Me, too !

The little sign....
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS....
I believe it......don't you?
***
I do hope I can find more of these precious dishes...they always bring smiles...
I always look at flea markets, garage sales, thrift shops...
and, EBAY.....OF COURSE !!
***

Sweet GOLLUM is hosting the most tasty day of the week.....

DUNKIN DONUT coffee....scrambled cheesy eggs, grilled beef sausage, hot, buttered biscuits...

and see on the right side of the plate...that little bit of red ??
RASPBERRY CRUMBLE !!!!
and, may i just say...
O HONEY !
***

I love our little breakfast room...such a great place for breakfast or brunch...
I have a lot of things I want to do with it....but....all in good time.
**
Right now, I have so many projects for MR. SWEET that I am afraid to mention even ONE more!!
(but....shhhhhhh, wouldn't white, PLANTATION shutters look wonderful on those double windows....)(ooo, and I have 2 more small projects for this breakfast room and kitchen that I am just beside myself about.....
*sigh

BJ! That is so funny! I do have those dishes...gifted to me...if I knew they would get to you in one piece I would send them to you...but I have had such terrible experiences with mailing dishes..besides the cost!!

They look very country cozy with your red and white check..
Great post!

BJ, your tablescape is so warm and homey. I love it! I used to have similar dishes, only instead of the bunny in the center, mine had hearts. I bought mine in the early 90's. I believe they are spongeware made by Tienshan. Look here: http://www.replacements.com/webquote/TIESPOB.htm

You know what's really sad? I love the colors you have in your breakfast room but I LOVE pink, too. I wish I just had lots of rooms that I could decorate and keep the ones that I have, too☺

If you want to make that spider cheesecake really easy, I buy a frozen cheesecake and use a bottle of Hershey's chocolate (squirt bottle) to decorate the web! Done in a heartbeat!

I love the look of that room, and the fruit crumble looks pretty darn good too.
