When it gets TOO hot in TEXAS..ya head for COLORADO mountains...

My thanks, once again, to sweet SUSAN for hosting this marvelous OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY...
Please go over to see her offerings and check out all the beautiful outdoor photos that are awaiting you from BLOGLAND.

This is MR. SWEET and myself in CREEDE, COLORADO. Such a quaint, mountain town full of the cutest shops and the most beautiful flowers. The high altitude must be the reason for the brilliant colors of all the flowers and...their huge size.
It so hot right now here on the plains of West Texas that my flowers are looking so sad.....too hot...too dry...and no relief in sight....FOR THEM... However, it was so much COOLER in Colorado, notice our long sleeves...heh heh heh...just loved it !!

THE FUDGE STORE....
OOO, my word....I found the most delicious MAPLE WALNUT FUDGE in this store. It was so so good.....
and so so expensive.
Now, I am searching the world over for a WONDERFUL recipe for it....
Do YOU have a good one that you'll share with me??
***

Wild flowers and red hydrants....can't beat it !!
The prettiest pond in FUN VALLEY, COLORADO...
I'm in love!!

Do you see the bee on the pretty wildflower?
...and the river behind it all ?
That water was so cold it was just HEAV EN...
I stuck my tiny little feet in it every single chance I got...:O)
***

I just HAD to have a bouquet of wildflowers.....even in a camper in the mountains, they looked just lovely!

Don't remind me of those hot Texas summers that never seem to end. I was an Irving Texas blogger until May. The Colorado mountains look like a wonderful place. When I lived in Texas one of my friends at church always talked about moving there.
You really got some nice pictures.

I grew up in Denver, and no matter how far I wander it will always be home. I lived in your neck of the woods many years ago, Midland/Odessa. I met great friends living there.

I'm glad you are enjoying your trip to Colorado. I have only been to Denver once. We arrived at night and when I woke up the next morning seeing the mountains right there was a magnificant sight I will never forget.

BJ, not only do you look beautiful, you make sunshine everywhere you go.

My mother would have liked to be at the fudge shop with you. She is a lover of fudge.

Oh my gosh, how beautiful. I could almost feel that cool water on my feet. Great photos!
I will be away for a long weekend, my son and I are kidnapping hubby too. We are running away for a bit, away from job stress for my Kens. Hubby watched his three employees be let go yesterday, one of them had been with the company almost 40 years, how sad.

Ooh girl, that shot of the lake through the pine trees is incredible. I think you should frame that sucker!
I'm so glad you had such a good time, but I am a bit jealous. CO is just another one of those places I've always wanted to visit.

Hi Bj,

Oh yes, I love fudge too! I have made fudge from the container of marshmallow fluff. It is basically foolproof. It is creamy and delicious. I made it at Christmas time, and gave some as gifts.

Love your vacation pictures. Thanks for sharing.
