TWO WONDERFUL MEMES ....REPOST !

A REPOST to add FRIDAY FEASTS at MOMTRENDS...
BE sure to swing by ...
PLEASE count me in for TWO wonderful memes .....

SWEET SUSAN never fails to have things all set up for us to enjoy the day...
she and many more are waiting to show us their beautiful tables...

MICHAEL LEE always has the best foods to show us
and a long list of other bloggers waiting to share with us a recipe or two...
****
THANKS so much for coming by my place...
I am showing a very
lazy table for one .....
**
MR. SWEET had things to do at supper time but...
he DID make it back for dessert....HE is a smart man, that Mr. Sweet !!
Out here in West Texas, we call that evening time meal supper....
***

Cheery green and black plates from BIG LOTS..
*

That cute little black and white polka dot rooster...
HOBBY LOBBY
Those little tiny salt and peppers were my mother's every day shakers...
*

The little bright red
cherry tomatoes are right off
MR. SWEET'S topsy turvy planters.
They are so delicious...
you know...the tomatoes we have to buy at the store taste entirely different than the home-grown ones... I don't eat tomatoes all winter but as soon as the homegrown ones start coming off in the summer, I am all over them !

**********************

I had a grilled boneless pork chop...
cubed potatoes...
corn on the cob...
Cesar Salad and a hot roll...
Cold, sweet ICED TEA, of course !
Now, I must say that most of this was leftovers from the night before
when our family was over for a great mealtime together....
Mr. Sweet grilled the chops and made two extra for another night..
*

MR. SWEET knew I was planning on having
BEIGNETS, dusted with powdered sugar,
with our evening DECAF coffee....
and he was there by the time they were ready...;O)

Some of you might remember that BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER brought the Beignet mix to me from NEW ORLEANS... and now, I am in love with these great little french wonders!
*
I tell ya....I could eat just about ANY thing if it had powdered sugar on it....
but, these little french donuts are indeed...... delicious.... !!

O...and speaking of DELICIOUS.....I meant to say that my MACKENZIE-CHILDS
catalog came today...
*

NOW......I have all this lusciousness to dream about...!!!

*sigh

Oh, BJ! You said the magic word, and that is BEIGNETS! Mr. Magpie and I are now officially moving in with YOU! Just get our room ready because we're moving to West Texas, and we will say supper, supper, supper till the cows come home! ;-)

I was looking at the MacKenzie Childs catalog YESTERDAY, and I thought of you! I nearly flipped when I thought that was your cabinet with those dishes! You need them BIG TIME.

I gave you a little shout out on my blog. Addie picked some black and white polka dot napkins for her "birthday tablescape," and as ususal, they reminded me of you.

Have a good one, lady, and I love that tablescape (cutttttte rooster) and those BEIGNETS!

Happy Tablescape Thursday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

I'm with Mr. Sugar! I want some of those sweets!!! They look so yummy. Your dishes are too much fun too. I love them all! They must make dining very enjoyable. By the way, I live in the northwest and my Dad always refers to dinner as supper. He grew up calling it that. I never hear my generation call it that, strange right?

Beignets!!! Oh, my, how wonderful.

I love the rooster plates. I really need to get some--and this is from the person who always swore I would never like chicken or rooster things. I have really grown to love them from all the great tablescapes here.
Don't forget to join us on this weekend for the final Christmas in July Tablescape Party on Saturday (some may spill into Sunday since the 25th is Saturday. I am having a real CIJ family dinner on Sunday, but will post my table photos Friday night and Mr. Linky will be up and ready at Playing Dishes.

I absolutely L-O-V-E those rooster plates!!! How fun!!! You know my hubby and I relocated to Texas from New Orleans. We love Beignets and Cafe Du Monde coffee. Yum!

I noticed that you live in Lubbock. We don't live that far from one another. We just moved from Austin near the Woodlands. We should meet for lunch in the middle. I found a great Cajun restaurant halfway from my house to yours (wink). I could see by those rooster plates; we'd be good friends, LOL!

These black and white plates and things are wonderful. So daring and special. Not to be used everyday but what an eyecatcher.I love beignets. When we where small children my mother used to bake them very often. Now it has been years since I ate them. But I can still smell the warm apple and the cinnamon sugar we sprinkled them with....Thank you for sharing.

Mmmmm BJ, those French donuts look too good to be true. I am up early today and decided to comment a bit. However, I just smelled the coffee down here in my SIL's finished basement. Her home is lovely and HUGE. She has six, yes I said Six bathrooms. When we visit here we love to stay in her beautiful basement. It has windows and a door to her back yard so we have natural light.

I love all you beautiful photos and your heading is awesome. Did I see that before? I'm not sure. I adore your rooster plates and dishes. You so know how to set up a great photo. It is pure art bj.

Going for coffee now. I have a surprise on my post today.

Love you, Jeanne

We will be home Sunday night.

What a fun blog and post. I love your table setting. Love the rooster and checkerboard themes.
I am glad you found my blog. Tempt My Tummy Tuesday is lots of fun. Everyone shares recipes or foodie tips. We just celebrated our one year anniversary and average about 70 participants each week. That is a lot of great recipes to pull from.
I do hope you will join us. I am looking forward to visiting your blog again.

I loved everything about this post, but when I reached the beignets and coffee, I thought I'd pass out from delight. I love, I mean I LOVE beignets. I was at a new restaurant in Tampa last month (well, new for me) and while we were waiting for our order the waitress came by with a plate full and ask if we'd like to try them. Try them? Leave the plate and cancel my order! lol

Plus, I love Mckenzie-Childs, oh my.

Lori (All That Splatters) said...

I LOVE your Mackenzie-Childs tiered server. It makes your beautiful beignets even more delicious-looking.
