OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY IN THE GARDEN....

Thanks to SUSAN for another great
OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY..
and thank you for coming by today....

*

We had the nicest rain early one morning last week.....
*

...one of the first things I noticed on my stroll after the rain...God's beautiful, but not very popular, bright yellow little wild flower..... I have made at least a kizillion wishes on their feathery pods over my looong lifetime...and taught my kids and grandkids to do the same....makes it seem magical when you make a wish and blow hard...

This shrub/tree/whichever way you prune it ,
was labeled 'ROSE OF SHARON'
and yet, it is different from my other Sharons...
is there more than one variety ? OR was it mislabeled and I am growing
something else ?? I sure hope it's not marijuana !!* :(
*

My geranium plant is getting bigger...it does love rain water !
It is so much better than water from the hose.....I know both types water
come from God but it seems the water that falls from the sky is just better..
heaven kissed, maybe ?
*

My violets...
they only bloom once a year...tiny, TINY little purple blooms in the early spring...
then.... they just makes a beautiful ground cover...
O, and..I love old brick with names on them....I am forever looking for more.
I always want a lot of whatever I am collecting at the time. ;)
I just like the look of olden brick mixed in with greens of any kind....
*

or....large, interesting rocks....
I love the look of rain on these leaves, too...just looks better
than if a sprinkler had deposited that water...
.....as you may can tell, rain is SO loved out here where it seldom falls ! :O)
*

AND.....I love chippy.....
...it's the little things !

BJ, You crack me up! I sure hope it's not marijuana! The rest of your garden sure is lovely. That 's a neat idea - to collect those bricks. Hmmm. I may have to start that one, too. (Like I need something else to collect? -LOL). You're right, a rain shower is so much better than the hose. I thought we were all set for a shower tonight but it petered out before it got to us. ~ Robyn

Your garden looks so pretty and refreshed from that gift of rain.

You make charm everywhere you touch.

Your garden looks beautiful BJ! We have had nothing BUT rain here in Michigan this spring/summer. Right now, at 8:00 a.m. in July, it is 53 degrees, and that is what our morning temps have been like all spring! It will only hit 77 today but, hopefully, no rain!

Beautiful Outdoor Wednesday, BJ!!

I've seen double Rose of Sharon. Yours is gorgeous. We had the single variety, at the farm. Don't have any here, though.

BJ, you are a hoot! Let's hope you aren't growing any wacky weed. But all of your flowers are pretty. Love the Rose of Sharon. Those remind me of my grandmother who loved them, too! :-)

Lovely flowers....and I love that garden stake. :-)

BTW....that is a Rose of Sharon. That is a common name for several plants.....especially Hibiscus

Have a beautiful day.

Ah...rain...
I have almost forgotten what it is like to have rain. We had nearly none in southern California this year. Your flowers are just beautiful and they actually look happy, bj! Mine poor things must be jealous of all your rain! I must watch them or they scorch!
And the bricks! I tell you, I have never seen any with markings on them? That is interesting!
I love that little flower on your fence..a bit of whimsy! :) So cute!
Love and hugs!

Beautiful walk after the rain. I love violets. I was told not to plant them because they are invasive, but, who cares, they're pretty!

No, love, it's not marijuana! Looks like Hibiscus bloom and leaves to me. Daddy had many hibiscus in lots of colors and this shade of pink was one of them so that could be why it looks different than your other Rose of Sharons. No matter what it is that is a beautiful picture! All of the pictures are beautiful in this blog and so is your yard. It shows a lot of loving care.
Love you!
Martha

Fairy dust is great. Love your dark green foliage and quiet looking garden scene! I have "dry" greenery from out west at Our Simple Life. :)

Beautiful garden pics! Our farm almost turned into a tinder box because we did not have rain for 6 weeks! Add to that 100+ temps every day and things got brown pretty quickly. I was watering only to keep my trees and special plants alive... then - we got 5 1/2 inches of rain in one night ...2 nights ago!

I started to post "Chrissy stories" and will do them for a while. They are good therapy for me.

How cute, BJ! Was that an Abilene brick I spied? I lived in Abilene for three years before moving to this side of Texas. Sure not as humid there!
