TABLES and FOODS....in the vineyard...

SUSAN is our gracious host...
*
The ever lovely, MICHAEL is our host for this event....
*
My son and daughter*in*law's beautiful vineyard,
Beso del Sol,
was the inspiration for this outside table ......
*

I bought this authentic french tablecloth
off of Ebay several years ago...
*

this grapevine isn't in my son's vineyard...
altho I DO want to do a shooting out there sometime...would make a
beautiful backdrop....ummmm!!
Nor is it a grape vineyard in the South of France....
this vine happens to be in my back yard...
MR. SWEET babies it more than he does me......;(
not really.....
*
the little lantern in the center came from Big Lots...
the bottom white plate is vintage, from a thrift store...
the little plate/bowl on top...BIG LOTS ....
*
The vintage yellow flatware once belonged to my aunt and then to my mother....
Over the years, several (A LOT) of pieces were lost.
Wanting to add to it, I did a little research and discovered they were no longer in production...
shoot.....
*
ahhh...here we have a little, chippy, vintage
PARIS FLEA MARKET metal flower cart...
and full of pretty flowers...
if I should PAINT the cart, it would loose all it's character
and look just like every other flower cart...
noooooo......I'll not paint it....
*
I just couldn't give up on replacing some lost pieces of that
adorable golden yellow flatware .....
then....I remembered.....EBAY....
I found and was able to purchase 31 more pieces of this family flatware...
and I am so tickled.
31 pieces for something like $12.95.....
I did such a HAPPY DANCE...
*
*
O.....this West Texas wind is starting to blow.....
see...it blew my little french sun flowers right off the table...
*
TIME to MOVE INSIDE to eat...........!!
*
such a delicious, COLD sandwich on little french sandwich buns...
cracked pepper TURKEY, South of France smoked ham,
Baby Swiss, crisp lettuce, green peppers, red, ripe tomatoes...
Bread and Butter pickles...my favorite !!
*
When daughter was in New Orleans,
she brought back this mix for
Beignets...
little french donuts.....
*

They are the lightest little balls of goodness you can imagine...
and rolled in POWDERED SUGAR....
o honey !!
a wonderful ending to a delicious meal....
in the vineyard...
venez s'il vous palit de nouveau....

BJ...Wow what a great post...you always make me wish I had done something like that. Of course, I will take the beignets every day of the week.
Short story...once at a formal occassion years ago they were serving Cajun food and dessert was beignets. Sitting next to me was a new DR. in our area from the north..he leaned over and asked if I knew what Big...Nets were that we were having for dessert. I will never forget that night because of him.

Hugs,
your older friend

Oh, I don't know where to start. Don't paint the cart! It's beautiful and your art of display just makes it precious. That tablecloth looks sort of "William-Sonoma'ish" to me. Everything is so beautiful at your place because you have such a good eye for decorating and making it cozy. I bet your family always wants to have get togethers at your house.
