the black and white of it all....

Most everyone that knows me,
knows I love BLACK & WHITE...
and, it's my theme for this day...
*
The other day at a grouping of 8 ladies...4 of us showed up in BLACK AND WHITE...
It's hot this year, ladies...
*

SUZANNE at COLORADO LADY is our host ..
SUSAN at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH is hosting this event..

MICHAEL LEE hosting this FOODIE FRIDAY event...

CUTE little cups, black and white....
stripes and polka dots ALL in
black & white.....
Big Lots...a buck each...

A COUNTRY BREAKFAST
at SWEET NOTHINGS...
in
blacks and whites and candle lights.....

i love candle light, ESPECIALLY in the mornings...
starts my day off with a glowing feeling...
this is a perk of retirement...leisure breakfasts...
after all those years of "hurry, hurry...gotta get to work"...
*

three little vintage creamers...
lined up like little soldiers,
carrying sweet smelling roses from my garden...
oops...the right little creamer got cut off...
HOW do you enlarge these photos and keep that right side ? grrrrr
*

cute little cups help dress up plain white plates
and add a little smile while they are doing it !
*

another vintage sugar bowl from my tiny collection...
wonder why i love sugar bowls...with little tiny handles on the sides...
and a nice little lid on top ?
I love them...I surely do..
*
our country breakfast this morning...
hot, sweet dunkin donut coffee...ummm...
hot and spicy OWENS country sausage...
hot buns, toasted, and covered in homemade strawberry perserves...
eggs, scrambled with peppers and extra sharp cheddar cheese...
and did i say COFFEE..?...my favorite part of any meal !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
have a great week, ladies...
I have very plain dishes and was thinking that I'd never be able to participate in a tablescape meme, but you've inspired me to find some inexpensive pieces I can mix with what I have to make it more what I call "frou-frou"!
BJ,
I've always loved all your black and white. I think our dishes and tablescapes say a lot about our style. All of you ladies look very pretty, I must say. I laughed about 4 of you dressing in black & white at the same time because my hubby has said that it doesn't matter what holiday it is, Jane and her sister's will be dressed for a funeral! We do love our black~very slimming... ;-)
That breakfast would be my favorite meal of the day. WITH coffee, please!
Ooh! I love the polka dots! The one Big Lots we have over here is DISGUSTING and filthy and the employees are RUDE. I can never find anything cool in there.
Anyway, I love the splashes of pink with the black and white, and lemme just say, you're a very pretty woman!
I'm so glad I've put you on my blog roll! It's nice to have a few "normal" gals to visit! LOL
Justine :o )
I think it's the curvy shapes that we admire on sugar bowls.
Your table looks delightful with the candle light. I want to sit and eat quickly before that fairy dust gets all over my food!
That picture of four ladies in black and white turned out good, didn't it? That was a fun day among many already this summer. Love your black and white blog today! There's just something about black and white that looks so clean and sharp; just is sooo classy.
With a breakfast like that who needs IHOP or any place else. No wonder Mr. Sweet Nothings takes such good care of you! He wants to keep you around for a long time 'cause you're so good to him. I do too.
Love you!
Martha
Very nice! I love the pink against the black and white! :) My only suggestion to get the right side to not be cut off is when you take the picture think about how the side will get cut off and then frame your photo in such a way that it won't cut off anything you want seen. That's what I am doing because the same thing happens to me! Bah. That food again looks yummy :)
All the best,
Allison
Breakfast food is always good to me any time of the day...even if it's served on a paper plate...but this looks absolutely scrumptious with your pretty B&W tablescape and pink accents. Black and white is always so classic...for the table or the wardrobe. :)
Great post! It's funny, I wear almost nothing but black and white but I don't decorate that way. I'm a more seaside color person in my home palette. Does that make me schizophrenic?
