TABLESCAPE THURSDAY AND FOODIE FRIDAY...DOUBLE FEATURE

Thanks to
*
for this lovely day...Please stop at her PORCH and see her offerings
and the growing list of others that want to show their BEAUTIFUL tables..
THANKS, SUSAN....
and
THANK YOU for stopping by SWEET NOTHINGS cottage...
*
I am also wanting to thank GOLLUM for this divine and always DELICIOUS
FOODIE FRIDAY...
when you leave the PORCH, you will be hungry
so be sure to stop by GOLLUM'S place and see
all the good foods and fabulous recipes.
I think this Friday is
FINGER FOODS...
*
only PART of my luncheon has FINGER FOODS
but enuf , I think, to qualify ....
******
I HAD SUCH A HAPPY DAY WITH FRIENDS...
I WANTED TO SHARE....
*
there was a LOT more color involved than THIS, tho....
*
Wouldn't you KNOW it would be RED !!
such a happy color...
*
*
*

FIVE of us.....4 of my best friends in the whole world...
2 others were sick with a tummy virus but, hopefully,
will feel better soon....and THEN, can be with us next time...
*

we had the BEST luncheon....just right for a light meal between FRIENDS ...
*
CHEF SALAD with Honey Baked Ham and Baby Swiss Cheese
BACON, CHEESE & TOMATO CRESCENTS (finger food #1 )
POTATO SMASHERS
and
RASPBERRY ICED TEA
*
* these crescents were the BEST tasting things...you should try them...
1 can Crescent Dinner Rolls
4 oz. pkg. Creme Cheese, softened (I used Onion & Chive)
1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped RED bell pepper
4 slices bacon, crisply cooked, drained and chopped or broken, into little pieces.
*
just spread creme cheese on each triangle, sprinkle with ingredients, roll
and bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden....
8 servings
****
these are really full of flavor and fabulous with a good salad....
*
the little potatoes...just bake new potatoes (i used microwave),
then flatten with a saucer, put into a skillet with 2 Tablespoons of
SPICY ITALIAN DRESSING, fry on one side until brown, turn over
and brown other side....
then sprinkle each potato with Extra Sharp cheddar cheese and
crumbled bacon....stick under broiler until the cheese melts...
*while these were under the broiler, we all were talking
a mile a minute and MARTHA said, "Is that something burning
in the oven?"
GOOD GRIEF....
i pulled that oven door open so fast, it nearly fell off...
WHEW.....just in time, Martha !!
i just knew i was in for another TRAIN WRECK in the kitchen
for GOLLUM'S FOODIE FRIDAY !!!
*
THESE sweet ladies are always teasing me about all my dishes
and how I always serve them lunch on REAL dishes and not PAPER...
OK, I said, dessert today is on PAPER PLATES...but...
not your everyday, run of the mill paper.. no sir ree.....
they have to be CUTE...they have to be RED AND WHITE POLKA DOTS !!
*

FUDGIE BROWNIES, HUGH RED RIPE STRAWBERRIES..
RED SEEDLESS GRAPES.... (finger foods #2,3 and 4) heehee...
AND FRUIT DIP
just TASTE better on RED POLKA DOTS, don't you think ?
ooo, yes...they do !
***
THAT good fruit dip is the old standby...
marshmallow creme and creme cheese'
O HONEY !!
*
we even had a taste of BLACKBERRY wine...
in the middle of the day....
HEY....it was five o'clock SOMEWHERE !!
*
*

OOO, yes....WE DID HAVE SUCH A GREAT TIME...!
AND I DO love my friends SO SO MUCH....aren't they all so pretty !
I am so blessed and I try to NEVER, EVER forget it !!!!

BLESSINGS, bj

BJ,

It looks like you had a smashing party! Wow, those were big roses!! Your tablesetting was so cute and the food looked delish. I am going to try the cresents and the potatoes, new recipes for me. And up here, we do the same fruit dip but sometimes add chocolate sprinkles or cinnamon, or lemon zest~gives it a little flavor & color!

Your frinds look like such sweet ladies. You are so lucky to be able to get together with them.

Have a great weekend, BJ! :-D
