I'll take some of that coconut cake and give me a piece for my hubby too, please. It's his favorite. I love your swing, BJ. I wish I had one on our porch too. And love the flowers surrounding your porch....Christine

Happy Tuesday Bj!

LOL ooo cake! Bj you always make the best looking things. Your porch is so nice! I love that you have a swing out there. It's a nice place to share a moment with family as you said. My stepmom and I kind of have that but it's not a cool swing on an awesome porch LOL. But it's nice to have a little place to relax and share :)

All the best,
Allison

Oh BJ first things first my goodness you do know how to share some fabulous desserts with us.

Your porch flowers and swing are wonderful. It all looks so welcoming and very pretty.

Happy almost Summer!

Oh, I can just see you swinging all those grandchildren on your porch. BTW, you are way to young looking to be 71! You must take good care of yourself.

Happy outdoor living!

Love, love, LOVE that porch swing! I can just imagine all the wonderful memories made there over the years! Sad to think, much less say, that it is true. The American President proclaimed before the Turkish people that, indeed, America is NOT a Christian nation. CNN news has the footage fo the speech. Breaks my heart just to think about it!

Have a great week and enjoy that swing!!

Many hugs..........

Diane

Ok, hand over that coconut cake! And save some space in the porch swing. Wonderful and relaxing pictures!

Hello Dearheart...

My friend, now this is the kind of porch that I could just spend some long hours of joyful conversation with you!!! That old vintage porch swing just says it all...come sit awhile and relax!!! You have it decorated so beautifully with the pretty cushion and all the beautiful pillows! Just makes me want to sink down in them and swing a spell! Of course, I'll have my plate of that scrumptious coconut cake in hand!!! I love that other cute little bench too!!! Beautiful...absolutely beautiful!!! Oh yes, and your mailbox is adorable...did you paint it? Your granddaughter did a marvelous job on that metal flag painting...a big hearty AMEN to God blessing our great land!!!

Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth with us, Darlin'! I sure enjoyed my visit!!!

Love ya,
Chari

I love your porch BJ! Looking at the photos I think the little pillow on the very end of the porch is the same fabric that I used to make one of my clothespin aprons last week! Isn't that funny? I adore the metal flag your grandaughter painted:>)

Morning BJ,
Thanks for stopping by today. You are just too sweet! I am just loving your porch. It looks so cozy and inviting. I just put a porch swing up 2 weeks ago. I am hoping to have all the memories there that you had on yours. Yum...coconut cake with apple cobbler cooler? Oh my gosh....it was delicious! :) Amy

Diane Duda said...

Every porch needs a swing and a flag! All the rest is just icing on the coconut cake! :)

Stopping by to thank you for Flyght support! I/they really appreciate it.

BJ: First, the "writer thingy" is so easy. Just follow my link to the download. Make sure you uncheck all the other stuff and just get writer. Second, when you compose your blog in it, write the text for a picture, then insert your pic, BE SURE to look to the right side immediately because it will say, inline, right, left, etc. That's where to choose the placement of the pic. If you forget, just delete the pic and insert it again. EASY!

Secondly, in my previous post I requested a moment of silence for our turning in of TX driver's license for VT ones. I know YOU observed that! LOL!

Finally, love you post, takes me back to TX. I almost joined Second Time today with my vintage gloves and key pic, but I had to add the others which really don't qualify.

I like that mailbox!

Oh! Is that COCONUT CAKE? That's my very favorite. Please ship me some ASAP!

Thanks so much for your comment about my recipes. For some reason I'm thinking "food" all the time lately. Could it be my diet☺ As with anything good in life...it's better when it's shared and who better to share it with than friends...

My gosh, it seems that a lot of the blogs I ♥ originate from the Lone Star State☺

GM My friend...Girl I am loving your swing...I have one also BJ and spend many an hour sitting and swinging with my grand babies...who are also grown up now...Oh the memories of that old swing my friend..This is so funny my grandson josh just called me from TX this morning and was talking about us sitting on the swing and watching the stars at night trying to figure out which star was what...May you have a great day my friend..And I always pray for our nation...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

mornin BJ, you have an awesome porch and I just love a great porch swing! I have the hooks in the ceiling for a swing but it kinda scares me cuz what if they weren't put in the rafters and I sat on a swing and it came crashing down!LOL!! So I just sit on the glider and the rockers! BJ, now you know I am a supporter of President Obama, I saw that speech you are referring to. He said we are not JUST a nation of Christians, BUT a nation of many faiths. And went on to name the different ones. Of course he didn't say we are not a Christian nation, he is a Christian man for goodness sakes. Seems so much gets twisted by the media, and so many false rumors get out there. Its sad but a fact of life. :-)) Have a great week BJ! xoxo

Bj you described your porch as "humble"...isn't that the best kind? One just feels overwhelmingly welcome upon coming to visit you!

Nancy said...

I'm not sure about sizing photos. Yes, I can see why you will need larger ones. Can you pull the corners to make them bigger? I'll try tomorrow when I do my posting and let you know. I don't know about the cutest blog background. I use Houseof3 Header (so cute, check them out) and no background 'cuz I have so much junk on the side. I'm still redoing all the time.

Such a sweet and adorable porch. Swings are like dining room tables, you can talk about anything there. Sweet memories, Debbie

Hi BJ, I finally am getting some visiting in. I have missed you this past weekend. We were knee deep in Senior games activities. It is big here in Franklin and there are lots of old folks just having a ball doing all kinds of sports events. Would you believe running relays, playing tennis and bowling etc. I actually walked a mile. LOL.

I love, your porch BJ and your Texas spirit. I can just imagine all the wonderful times you have had on that porch swing. You make me smile all the time. You really made me smile when I saw my big ole picture on your sideboard. That is the sweetest thing for you to do. Thank you My sweet sister friend. Now if i could just have a piece of that cake!!!

Love you...Jeanne

PS I am showing my garden and porch tomorrow on Outdoor Weds.

Your porch is so welcoming, warm, and cozy. It's just the kind of place I would love to sit and have a glass of sweet tea. I think my favorite thing is the darling mailbox. I love the Texas star too. We have those all over here in Ohio too! I have two outside at the new place.
