YUMMY FOODIE FRIDAY

HAPPY FRIDAY TO ALL OF YOU...
* *

....FOODIE FRIDAY, with beautiful GOLLUM in the kitchen....
Be sure to go over and see her offerings and leave her sweet words...
then, follow your nose to all the good smells floating throughout Blogland....
and thank you so much for coming by to see me today!
**
I am pretty sure some of you are beginning to think that all
I ever THINK ABOUT and COOK are....
P.I.E.S.
*
YEP...you are almost right...Pie is my very favorite
of all desserts but actually....
I DO cook other things every now and then...
HOWEVER.............*
*

I FOUND AUNT LOLA'S PIE CRUST RECIPE
so of course....when I found it, I knew
I JUST HAD TO MAKE IT !
Oh, it is such a great recipe...
I've been using it for 40 years and have
NEVER, NOT EVEN ONCE, had it to fail...
*
The recipe isn't any different than a lot of recipes for pie cursts..
I think.........well, at least I learned in HomeMaking in high school,
that the less you handle a pie crust, the better and lighter and flakier
it is, after it's cooked.
*
AUNT LOLA'S NO FAIL PIE CRUST
2 cups flour
1 cup Crisco
1/2 cup COLD water
2 teaspoons Vinegar
1 teaspoon Salt
*****
Handle it just enuf for it to stick together, rolling it or just pat it into
your pie pan about a 1/4 -1/2 inch in thickness...
*

Once I made the pie crust, I had to put something
inside and have wanted to try that CHOCOLATE FUDGE PIE that
STACEY over at POOFING THE PILLOWS told us about one Friday.
I got all my ingredients out and
SET TO WORK....
*

lots of eggs...
*

lots of buttah.....
*

and, let me tell you, it was smelling soooo good
all the time it cooked.
STACEY said it would be CRUSTY
on the outside and....
ooey, gooey
on the inside....
It IS crusty here.
*

and....gooey here....
WELL...I couldn't WAIT....no..I couldn't !!....I cut it while it was WARM and.....
THOUGHT I HAD GONE STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN....
OH, MY GOODNESS !!
*

This is a piece, after letting it cool.......just take a look at all that
dark, RICH fudge....
I'm tellin' ya, ladies...
STACEY KNOWS A GOOD CHOCOLATE PIE
like nobody I've ever known...

*
It just about brought MR. SWEET to his knees!!
I do believe I now have a way of getting
ANYTHING I WANT.....EVER!!!
*
Yep, ladies, go visit STACEY and get her magnificent pie recipe...
tell her bj liked it so much she can't wait for THIS PIE to be gone
so she can bake ANOTHER !!
******

JUST wanted you to know I have a LOT of RED
in my RED KITCHEN....even the WORKING parts !
When my dishwasher is full...I use my little RED drainer
for the left-over dishes...
and I promise...
WE DIDN'T USE THOSE BIG PLATES for our piece of pie!!
PROMISE !!
XO bj
*

OOO, and I also wanted to tell you that the RED POPCORN I showed you in my last post....

IS ...............CHERRY POPCORN......;>)

IT'S delicious so I am giving you the address so you can order some if you'd like...Again, my thanks to VALARIE ....

Oh MY Goodness ~ this looks positively decadently delicious!

I just adore your red and white kitchen. One of my favorite aunties selected the same colors ~ that's one of the things I remember about her. Her happy kitchen; it was always so cheerful and crisp. Your kitchen evokes the same feelings ~ you've done a really nice job! xoxo~m.

I must admit I am absolutely no good at pie crust. I make an "ok" crust, but its not that flaky beautiful crust like yours.

But yes I love me some good pie. And a good chocolate pie, too.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. Maybe I will give it another try...

Blessings, Barb

Mouth watering deliciousness, surrounded by favorite color, red.
Plus, a sure fire pastry recipe that I can pat instead of rolling it into a rubbery mess. Sure glad I stopped by!

That pie looks wonderful, I don't have a chocolate pie recipe so I'm going to get this one! Pie crust was always my job when I was growing up. If there was a pie to be made, the crust was made by me, since I was 7 years old! Have a great day BJ, I'm free of the second job and you'll be seeing a lot more of me now:>)
