SPRING has sprung and ...WE ARE HUNGRY..

SWEET and beautiful GOLLUM is once again hosting this fabulous FOODIE FRIDAY..
only THIS one is in HONOR OF SPRING....
what a fabulous idea, GOLLUM, QUEEN OF FOODS !!
*
*
MAY i wish ya'll the HAPPIEST SPRING
you've ever had ...
*
When I saw the recipe for
GERMAN PANCAKES on a Foodie Friday,
I KNEW that I would be making some.....
This devine recipe came from CATHERINE
and it is so delicious and pretty that I am sure you will want to
go over to her cottage and pick up this delightful recipe...
*
I have NEVER made a pancake in a CAKE PAN before
but I followed THE RULES !!
*
OH MY GOODNESS...
this turned out SO PRETTY....
and
IT IS JUST SIMPLY DELICIOUSSSSSS.....!
and its......SO PRETTY !!
I was totally IMPRESSED here ..!
*
Ummmm...I put cherries in the center of mine..
and then, because I love it so, I sprinkled mine
with luscious BROWN SUGAR...
*
Mr. SWEET and I do love us some FRUIT....especially for breakfast..
*
I added crispy BACON strips and
HOT, SWEET COFFEE, Southern style...!!
*
"sweet spring brings dreams of good foods, pretty flowers
and, most of all.....the PROMISE OF A DEEP LOVE..."
*hugh sigh......
*
this is the most amazing little......"thing"...I have
no idea what it might be called...
it is made of little, REAL shells and
my precious DADDY brought it back
from overseas during WW 2.....
I WOULD RATHER HAVE MY DADDY
than this ole SHELL PIECE !!!!!!!!
*
Little tiny purple flowers from the
tiny little garden I have in front of my cottage...
*
Oh....and the little egg and nest
TARGET SALT & PEPPERS...
*
Hmmmm....we drink BLACKBERRY WINE all
year 'round...not just SPRING and SUMMER...
never but ONE glass....but we do love it's sweet taste...
*
It dawned on me that this great
GERMAN PANCAKE
would be simply DELICIOUS with
a strong, grated cheese sprinkled all over...
bits of bacon or ham in the batter before baking...
onions, peppers, mushrooms....
t'would be heavenly with WINE....
OH HONEY....
*
MAYBE even the sweetness of the fruit used here
would be fantastic with a glass of favorite wine...!
GOTTA TRY THAT ! yes, I do !
and then.....I'll let you know...
*
"this time of year, there seems to be a SPRING
in your step that wasn't there yesterday"
*
ABOUT 1/4th is all I could possibly eat....
this pancake is BIG....HUGH ..
*********************************
Please stop by GOLLUM'S sweet cottage
and let her know how much we are
enjoying this fantastic day each week.
I have got some of the BESTEST
recipes and I know all of you have, too...
See the long list she has of other great cooks
in the LAND OF BLOG....
Thanks so so much for coming by my place...
YOU ROCK !!

That looks delicious! There's something similar to that in my new Farm Chicks cookbook. There's might be apple.

Thank you for your moral support on the "forgetfulness" post. I too have gone to the doctor on the wrong day. At least you were a day early!!

Dadgum BJ.....I'm reading your post at 10:32 p.m. and wanting a bit of that pancake and bacon so bad I'm starting to shake. You would think as much stuff as I've put in my gut today I wouldn't want anything else. Not happening!

Yummy! BJ, I'll have to make one soon too as my family loves it but I'm more concerned about all those eggs. Well you only indulge sometimes, so I guess that's ok! LOL

Oh that's it! I'm headed over to your house to have some of that pancake and bacon with you and Mr. Sweet! The shell thingy looks like a doily, but I'm sure I would never set anything on it. Very cool though!

Dear BJ,
Our family loves those pancakes and we used to have them for Christmas morning with fruit and whipped cream (if there's fruit included the calories in the whipped cream don't count, right!?!)
I quit doing them though because it took so long to make them and we didn't sit down together.
My brilliant daughter used muffin tins this year and made the cutest individual ones that were filled to the brim and very pretty. She did at her new in-laws house on Christmas morning and they were wowed.
I'm thinking they would be pretty in white french ramekins too.
Have a Lovely Day~
Alicia

Now that is a good-sized pancake! I think that would be enough for me....:)Really it looks super yummy. I never thought to make a pancake in a baking pan. What a good idea. Amy :)

Hi BJ,
I just read your other comment you gave me on the blog about my baking area. You are too sweet! Yes, it would look great if you took the door off. Actually that is my preference, but hubby was not thrilled with the idea, so I left it on. I can't wait to see your new baking area. It really does make baking so much easier, and I just love looking at it! Amy

Happy Foodie Friday to you BJ!

This is my first Foodie Friday and thank you for sharing your Puffy Pancake. I make this but have never put brown sugar on it which sounds really good.

Hi BJ,
Glass doors are more perfect than no door at all. I love that idea. It was like that area was meant to be a baking area. I can't wait to see what you do with yours. Your kitchen is beautiful anyway (love the black and white accents). Have fun...Amy

I've never tried one of these, but now I'm more than tempted! Maybe for a light supper, (with the wine, of course)! ;) Nancy

Hi BJ, I have never seen German pancakes like this before. Mmmmmm. I can just taste it. I usually make thin pancakes and add butter (the real stuff) lemon and lots of powdered sugar. They are my favorite pancakes and pecan pancakes are second. Lord have mercy, I'm hungry.
Oh, and some of that blackberry wine.

I'm off to check the foodie blogs.

Have a happy day and thank you for your sweet comment about my niece.

Hugs...Jeanne
