I'M SMILING....

I am adding 2ND TIME AROUND TUESDAY
to this posting of my thrifted COFFEE TABLE...
My thanks to DIANE
Be sure to swing by her place and leave sweet words..
she has a growing list of 2nd time around-er's
waiting to show your their treasures...
and thanks for coming by to see mine...
***********
A HUGH THANK YOU for all your help !!
*
REMEMBER THIS POOR, PITIFUL PEARL of a coffee table ??
The thrifted drop-leaf, French table that I love!!
HGTV could make a GREAT show about this
sad thing ...showing what NOT to do to a coffee table !!
*
I ADORE my old table....it just was in dire need of a new, SPRING "DO"...
*
Well, thanks to YOU, I have been able to make
it look a whole LOT better...
It is now a table that MAKES ME HAPPY...*
Even my sweet son, DAVID
said how good it all looked...!!
*big HUGH smile here
*
*
THE VERY FIRST THING YOU told me is that it needed....
COLOR !!
*
I just shopped my DECORATING CLOSET and decided to
use some of my WHITES....
bless their hearts...these little birds have flown ALL
over Sweet Nothings cottage and they always
look great...I think I need about 3 more WHITE ceramic birds!!
and.....
I LOVE MY FAUX TULIPS...just like SHEILA loves HER fauxs...
my tulips of many colors always add such a bright spot and
fill in just fine until I am blessed enuf to get some REAL ones...
Oh, and KATHY...did you notice I am using the beautiful lacy piece that
you sent me? I love it...it is strong enuf looking to not look foo-foo !!
*
I LOVE LOVE LOVE beautiful magazines....
There will ALWAYS be pretty mags stacked on a table near me...
I love reading them over and over....
those and great catalogs!
*
AND I can tell you RIGHT NOW.....the HUNT is on for a great box...to use CHALK BOARD PAINT
on the side so I can add the words LEMONS...JUST LIKE THIS !!!
Isn't it just a GREAT looking box ?
*

I just LOVE this new SPRING DRESSING for this old, vintage but still GREAT coffee table...
it looks good to MY eyes and there's still plenty of room to sit a coffee or tea cup down...
and GAMES...we LOVE games !!
*
Thanks to all your awesome suggestions, I have several more ideas to try....
I like to change things around really often...I'm not fickle....I just love change!
*
You are all so good at this !! How did you learn so much about decorating ????
*
I decided to use my thrift store, glass pitcher and the
awesome monogramed glasses from a GREAT garage sale...
Won't these look good with some sweet PINK LEMONADE in them
the next time some friends drop by !!
I try to keep something ......cookies, candy, cheese crackers.......something...just for friends!
well......and GRAND KIDS ! ;o)
*

THE ONE THING THAT IS NEW HERE...
that FABULOUS FABULOUS TRAY !
Oh ! Honey !!
*

THIS....ladies, is the BEST BASKET TRAY
I've EVER found in my entire life ! REALLY !!
*
It is really GOOD LOOKIN', sturdy, large ....
and..,.....
UNDER $20.00 at TARGET !
*
Gosh O'Mighty...don't you just LOVE Target !!
I just bought some of the cutest
Salt and Pepper
shakers from there...I'll show ya a little later...(& they aren't BIRDS :O)
*
ANYWAY.....
I can see lots and loTs of things in this tray...
*
chunky candles, bird nests ...
*
thick, heavy books stacked....
*
UMMMMMM! ........Lots of possibilities...
*
and it is all thanks to YOU !!
XO bj

Good Morning Friend!

Your table looks just perfect. I love the pitcher and drinking glasses sitting there. Love the magazines...I always have too many of them. Do you know that they men in my house have the nerve to sit their sweaty glasses on my beautiful magazines? Anyway, it's all just gorgeous. I might have to run over to Target for a tray!

I love how the table looks. Dressed in it's spring finery! I am going to be changing out my table goodies later this week. Maybe I'll take an idea or two from yours.

Have a great day, Denise

It looks lovely...I think those faux tulips are gorgeous. When they're good quality like that they look amazing. And the lemons added just the right splash of color! Nicely done my friend!

SmilingSally said...

I love those tulips too; they don't look faux on your blog. The ones I see in the store all see to look so fake. Thanks for sharing.

Your coffee table looks lovely or maybe it is a lemonade table! Due to a two year old our is bare and I hate it. Sometimes I decorate it on weekends when she is gone. Anyway I love it.

Hi BJ, your coffee table has a whole new personality. Bright and colorful and especially nice, is the tray. I love that the table is large enough to be beautiful and useful. It all looks good and the lemons are a great color touch. Now I know my coffee table needs color. I'm thinking about it.

Have a great evening.

Hello BJ...

Ohhh my...what a fabulous transformation!!! I just love that pretty frenchy coffee table, in fact, I'd love to have one! It's absolutely beautiful in its new Spring dress...all of the splashes of color that you added is just perfect, my friend! Of course, I love your pretty white pitcher full of tulips...the tulips are such a pretty color! The darling little birds are perfect...emphasizing a little more of that creamy white! Then adding that bowl of lemons...gorgeous!!! I thought it was perfect until I seen your next photo where you added the tray and glassware! It's really a beautiful vignette, BJ! Ohhh, and I do love your new wicker tray...not a bad price at all!!!

Beautifully done!!! And I enjoyed your photos too, especially that last photo...the lighting is stunning!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

Ooops...Girl, I just read back the comment that I left and wanted to clarify what I meant by "I thought it was perfect until I seen your next photo where you added the tray and glassware!"...I didn't want you to think that I was saying that your vignette was perfect until you added the tray...I meant to say that I thought it was perfect and then you added the tray and it was even more perfect! Sheeshh...just didn't want you to take that the wrong way!

By the way, I've been seeing alot of things done with that chalkboard paint...and I love that basket! I love that idea too! Hmmm...just thinking if I have something I could try that out on! Hehe!!!

Hi BJ, thanks for the heads up. You are right, it didn't work. I entered it again and it is working. Now everyone will wonder, are there two Jeanne's? LOL. Boy, is it pouring here. My flowers will be happy. I think I will have a cup of hot tea and a chick cookie. RE: Pink Sat. Sheila's (the dear one) recipe. They are so good.

Have a happy day thrifting.

Jean, you have just outdone yourself this time. Just love your table that way. Did you know that the set of Skipbo cards you have out are collectors items? That is the original game cards and you cannot buy them now. Think they're worth a pretty good price too. That picture with the sun shining in on the table is soooo beautiful. Just made me smile from ear to ear! Good job, my friend!
Love,
Martha
