blue bits and pieces....

FIRST, may I say that I am sorry to be MIA for awhile and not getting
around to your blog to comment.
WOW...right now, I have so much on my plate I don't know if
I am coming or going....
Re-doing 3 bedrooms, 4 granddaughters playing basketball
and one playing softball....
not to mention getting postings ready for 6 days a week.
oh, and....
just normal, every day life....
I'll get it together soon...maybe by next winter !!
;O)
Our thanks to SALLY at SMILING SALLY for hosting this
weekly, really FUN event.
After going to see her offerings and leaving sweet words for her,
take a look at all the other BLUES she has listed for us to see...
and
thank you for coming by to see me today !

I HAVE JUST BITS AND PIECES OF BLUE TODAY....
***
" BLUE MONDAY"

*
Painter and decorative artist, ANNIE LEE, is well known for her realistic and humorous portrayals of contemporary and historical African American family life.
*
"My paintings are of everyday life. I try to paint things that people can identify with," Lee told Contemporary Black Biography (CBB). Identify they did. Since her first gallery show in 1985, during which her paintings sold out in the first FOUR HOURS of the show, Lee has enjoyed resounding success.
*
In particular, her paintings "BLUE MONDAY" and "Six No Uptown" struck a chord with viewers. They have been consistent best sellers and a spring board to Lee's wide-ranging artistic endeavors.
*****************
"DAISY FIELD"
*
One of my favorite paintings by my mother....
She was so talented in so many ways...
I have this one hanging in my living room and,
after 28 years, I have never, once, tired of it...
*
"PICKIN' COTTON"
Another of my favorites that Mom did...
This one makes my heart sing....
*
I just threw this in today because I just discovered it and.....
it's in a BLUE package....;>)

This delicious stuff is
NO FAT GRAVY....
and may I say it is so so GOOOOD !
Mr. Sweet and I get really hungry for gravy
but since we are watching our fat intake,
we found THIS in the grocery store not long ago
and love it, every now and then!
*

Gravy over toasted biscuits is hard to beat for breakfast...
(those grapes COULD be a form of blue...right ?! )

Hahaha...I LOVE IT !!

Love your Blue Monday offerings this week! Your Mom was an exceptional artist, you have every right to be proud of her! Are there prints of her work available? I really like the 'Pickin Cotton' one as it reminds me of my childhood. Have a great day!

You have some great blues there! I enjoyed reading your post. Don't worry about not getting around to visit everyone. The most inportant thing about blogging is not to feel stressed out. I get that way sometimes too. Happy blue Monday!

I love your mom's paintings.
The painting titled Blue Monday speaks volumes, doesn't it?
As for your very last photo, I want to prove that I am not greedy. I will take George and leave Brad for someone else. ;)

Happy Blue Monday and good luck the grands in their games.

Hi BJ, thank you so much for your kind comment about my ex-DIL. Our visit was so welcome and our grands need us so much. Home last night and trying to catch up.

Your busy life is making me tired just reading about it. Slow down BJ, we aren't young chicks anymore girl.

Your art today is awesome. Blue Monday is great and I loved reading about the artist.

I adore your mom's art so much. She had a wonderful talent for art. So much talent in this world goes unnoticed by the masses.

Don't over do it BJ. I'm serious.

Love you my friend...Jeanne
