YOU CAN'T BE BLUE IN KITCHENS LIKE THESE....

OUR week just wouldn't be the same without SMILING SALLY hosting the lovely BLUE MONDAY...
Please drop by her place, leave sweet words for her and visit others that have gone out of their way to show you LOTS OF GOOD BLUES....
*
*
THIS IS FROM HGTV:
*
"Blue is being used in a variety of new ways to start a design conversation in every room of the house.
From blue and white porcelain to bedding and window treatments, blue is finding its way into more and more rooms as designers find it calming, timeless, versatile and genderless.
Blue combines most readily and traditionally with white. They can almost be considered earth tones together, bringing a sense of natural color and glow to any room.
Blue is a color that asks to be repeated and this can happen with small touches . Pieces of blue and white china, some throw pillows or blue lampshades on simple white lamps can bring a subtle accent into any space. "

BEAUTIFUL BLUE KITCHENS from the Internet...
THIS one is for the TRUE BLUE LOVER....

I am crazy about the blue and white backsplash here...

I am really lovin' this one...and I am looking high and low for some of those cute scales....
ACTUALLY, I WANT THIS KITCHEN !
The Cornflower blue of these subway tiles REALLY look great with the snow white of the cabinets, don't you think ?
oooo, I wish MY kitchen was this clean !!

THIS Country Blue kitchen is so cute. I'm not real sure all the open shelves would last in MY kitchen long.
For one thing I live in WEST TEXAS where there's lots of dust storms....another....I tend to like lots of "stuff" but I like it more controlled than these shelves might offer....It sure is full of cuteness, tho !

I am seriously thinking of removing my 2 doors beneath the sink and replace, FOR AWHILE, with
some cute curtains.....such a great look !! ...soft...

even just a TOUCH of blue makes such a statement.... I guess it's because the blue and white combo is so hard to beat...and so classic.

NOW, this one seems to be a favorite with a LOT of bloggers...it's long been a favorite of mine...
that screen door....OH ! HONEY!

I have no idea where this photo came from but, oh, I do love this kitchen! If ever I get tired of RED, I will have a BLUE and WHITE one, I am thinking.....???
* shhhh...if Mr. SweetNothings should hear the rumor that I want to REPAINT those RED cabinets AGAIN,
he could pass a kidney stone....
*****

Have a great BLUE MONDAY and a good week...
XO, bj

OH....and this is some sweetness for RECHELLE over at WALNUTHAVEN COTTAGE......

I hear that she ADORES Mr. GENE KELLY......me, too, Rechelle....I was in love with him all my young life !

bwaaaaaa, I SURE DO MISS HIM !

Have you ever noticed that most kitchens were some shade of blue in the olden days?? Most country kitchens anyway?? Do you know why??
FLIES don't like the blue.. and they thought the flies would saty out of the kitchen that way :-) Smart, huh!??

Those kitchens looks wonderful.. mine is red and white too!

You found some gorgeous kitchens, BJ! I love that blue checkered backsplash, also.

Stacey said...

Oh that pantry door! I want it!

Mojo said...

Actually, the ceilings on covered porches are supposedly painted blue for the same reason Monica mentions about kitchens. Apparently it helps keep flies -- and mosquitoes -- from invading. True or not I don't know. I can't imagine an insect being repelled by a color, but stranger things have happened I guess.

I could work with the last three of these... The rest? Might be a bit much for my taste.

I think I just love kitchens, although I would love to have a screen door like the one blue one. I didn't know that flies don't like blue... I might try painting my porch blue and see what might happen!

I always get a little excited when you show favorite rooms B.J. You always choose the prettiest rooms I've ever seen! Love these kitchens even though I have not been a big fan of blue and white until recently! I think I saw too much of that greyish country blue with geese in the seventies and it really turned me off, but now I see cobalt blues and robins egg blues and they are something altogether different! I have even begun collecting blue and white dishes!

I lean toward the small touches of blue coupled with those brilliant yellow lemons. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday!

Great music! In our last home our kitchen was blue and I really enjoyed the softness. Now I have a bright red wall and the 'cheeriness' of it brightens my day:-) It is funny the way we have a continual need for change! I really enjoyed the kitchens you shared.
Have a wonderful week, BJ!

Love all those kitchens...especially the one with the huge farm sink :0)
Thanks for my special treat today. love, love, love Gene Kelly. Always have. Singing in the Rain was the first GK movie I ever saw and I watched it with my mom when I was just a young thing. I've been hooked ever since. One of my favorite things to do, especially on a cold or rainy day, is to curl up on the couch with a steaming cup of tea/cocoa or coffee, pop in a GK movie and just relax and enjoy...ahhhhh.
You're just to nice!
Enjoy your day!!!

Oh I just love all those kitchens. Of course the first one is my favorite I think. You know me and any shade of blue especially with white.

But, now Jean, you know you don't want to do anything to your red and black and white kitchen! That is so "you" and so pretty. Good post, my lady!

Love,
Martha

This was the greatest post for Blue Monday BJ. I think blue is making a big comeback and it is great paired with almost any color. I love it in a kitchen too, although that was considered out of style for so long.

Thanks for sharing all these wonderful pics! :-)

Since blue is my favorite color, I am sure loving these blue kitchens. In my last house, which I remodeled about 10 years ago, I ordered blue counters for my kitchen. I just loved them!
