FOODIE FRIDAY and FLAUNT YOUR REDS... Breakfast at TIFFANYS

Due to time messing around in a hospital, I didn't have time to do separate posts for these
TWO terrific events....
Please accept this as tribute to both and I'll do better next time...I promise..
*
NANCY is hosting a FLAUNT YOUR RED day
and since this post has so much RED, I wanted to join the
fun ....nothing more fun than the color RED...
I know there's going to be some fabulous posting today....
be sure to take a look at all of them....
THANKS, NANCY
*
OOOOO, BUMMER...
TIFFANYS..
is CLOSED TODAY so ...
we will just move on..
over to ...
bj's CAFE and SWEET SHOP (and would you note the writing on the
sign is in RED...)
for a "you can't beat it"
SUNSHINY DAY BREAKFAST.....
Hope that suits you....we'll go to TIFFANYS another day...
I PROMISE !!
*
"Dear GOLLUM,
thank you so much for this wonderful time each week...
It is so much fun, cooking and getting things all
pretty for you and all the ones playing this amazingly fun game."
*
*There's lots of goodies awaiting you, so be sure to go over
and say HELLO to GOLLUM and visit all the other great food places listed.....
***********
WE LOVE CINNAMON ROLLS and FRUIT around this cottage....
If I have plenty of time, I especially love the
YEAST, HOMEMADE CINNAMON ROLLS...who doesn't ?
but....if I don't have the time, some CANNED BISCUITS,
rolled out, sprinkled with LOTS of butter, sugar and cinnamon...
rolled, sliced and put in a pan with lots MORE butter, sugar and cinnamon
tastes mighty good to us !
*

**NOTE that if you have 2 spices ALIKE.....
like these, all dressed in the same RED...
be sure to separate them...I mean......
can ya imagine these rolls with CRUSHED RED PEPPER instead of cinnamon....
WHOA !! ;o) hee hee....
THAT would sure wake Mr. SN up in a big hurry !!
*
NOW that we have them cooked...
**
let's go into the DINING ROOM....
This little RED sign is one of my very favorites ....
*
We can build a fire in this RED bricked fireplace if you are too cool.
I love eating in front of a fire...wonder why ?
You DO know that this is a vintage mantel and surround
and not a working fireplace, right ?
BUT, candles can burn in the fire box and it
looks so romantic and warm.....
*
Please....allow ME to serve you.....
*
Hot buttery, sugery CINNAMON ROLLS
and fresh, ripe and VERY RED strawberries
is a breakfast treat that
Mr. SWEET NOTHINGS and I really enjoy...
usually on a slow and luscious SUNDAY morning..
but....we are doing it on FRIDAY...FOODIE FRIDAY, at that !
and here I am, flaunting some RED !!
:O)
*
*

OOO, the cute little rooster, with his RED comb, is my newest addition to the flock..
My sweet and bestest friend ever gave this to me for VALENTINES DAY....
Thank you, Mizz Martha !! I think he is trying to peck a bite out of that strawberry...
just like you would if you were here !! ha ha....
*
We seldom have fresh brewed tea around bj's..
I think TIFFANYS have it ALL THE TIME ...
but I think you will like this Spiced Chai...yum...
And, I ALWAYS serve it in beautiful tea cups like this....
Thank you SHERRY...I LOVE THIS TEA CUP AND SAUCER...!
*

Isn't this rose plate with the lattace edging just beautiful ?
It's just the PERFECT size for cinnamon rolls and strawberries...
*
This belonged to Mr. SWEET NOTHINGS mother
and I am so ticked PINK to have them....
Only two ! which is alright for our breakfast for two...
*
Which color do you want....the PINK or the YELLOW....
If you live in TEXAS...and remember the song,
'THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS '
you just might like to take the yellow flowered plate...
*
*

I AM SO THANKFUL
that you came and had this light and luscious breakfast with me.
The next time, you have to come spend the night because I
want to serve your BREAKFAST IN BED !! and I just
MIGHT have some more of those delicious
BRIGHT RED STRAWBERRIES....

Do come by anytime....
I nearly always have a
CAN OF BISCUITS
in my fridge !!
*******************************
PLEASE DROP BY BOTH THESE PRETTY LADIES BLOGS...
You will be so so glad you did !!
XO bj
********
NOTE ADDED....
I am doing just fine...the angiogram showed blockage behind my knee
and instead of MORE surgery, they put a STINT there.
Isn't that the most awesome thing! I had no idea they could
do that. I only spent one night in the hospital and just got home...
11:40 am on 2/26...
Not supposed to bend my leg very much but I think
I can safely say that I will be "on my knees" about this precious stint !
LOVE !

Oh, BJ! This is all great! But I didn't know you had been in the hospital! I've not been online as much this week, but I'm SO thankful you're okay. God bless you, sweet lady! Oh what a relief!

Your presentation on this was so cute, and I want one of those big beautiful strawberries almost as much as I do a cinamon roll. The operative word here being "almost." LOL!

Love your chicken, too!

Happy Foodie Friday...

XO,

Sheila... who wants you to take good care of yourself! :-)

Wow BJ, your breakfast looks so delicious! Watch out or I may take you up on the breakfast in bed. But then again, maybe I should come and serve it to you in bed, since you are the one that just had a stint put in! Hope you are doing well with that! Those dishes are beautiful and you are so lucky to have those memories from your husbands mother. The chai tea sounds quite good as well! Have a delightful day!

Nothing to mess around with, so thank goodness you're good to go now. And girl, your post was great today, I never thought about using biscuits for cinnamon rolls. You're so smart. And those plates, you use them? Un Uh, not me, I keep that stuff for show. LOL
You take care of yourself, I just know with all your red things, your chomping at the bits to post. LOL...

OM gosh BJ. You touched my heart. Thank you so much for posting the prayer request for Don. We have been dealing with this for almost a year and I have been wanting to post about it for that long. Per Don's request I did not. He recently though changed his mind. I have only just started to tell the whole story, but will continue with it in the future.

Hi BJ, :)

Thank you for visiting and your kind compliments. ~WOW~ You are so sweet. You really made my day!

I just found the paint chip... The paint in our GR is by Martha Stewart at Sherwin Williams and it's called "Rutabaga" number 8189. Just so you know it is a very warm, deep golden Yellow. It may actually look a bit lighter in the photos.
I'm excited for you!
Paint is amazing the way it transforms a room isn't it?
Let us see your room when you are finished.

Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
~Melissa :)

BJ - I am so glad that there were able to put in a stint and did not have to do anything more invasive. I wish you a speedy recovery. Now about your post! How do you come up with such wonderful ideas? I loved all of the reds especially the plates from your mother-in-law and the lucious red strawberries.
Love,
Sweetie

Hi BJ,

I am glad you didn't have to have surgery on your knee. You can tell I haven't visited in a while.

I always enjoyed visiting you as you have such neat pictures on your daily posts.

See you when I get back from South America.

These cinnamon rolls look delicious, especially paired with the strawberries - YUM! I love the plates, but naturally I'm partial to the yellow. Love all of your reds too. Great post. Kathy

BJ, you amaze me. I was so scared about your trip to the hospital and here you are blogging away with the sweetest post. Loving all your red and your cinnamon rolls girl. My absolute favorite. The gorgeous strawberries aren't too shabby either. I do believe I just got my appetite back again. I haven't wanted to eat anything for three weeks. Pain meds are the problem. I am cutting way back now. Losing weight is a good thing for my knee, but I hit bottom. I need to start eating.

Take care of your leg and just lay around and rest for a few days. I am happy about your good news my sweet friend.

Love and hugs...Jeanne

You're right about the little rooster trying to peck one of those luscious strawberries just like I would if I were there; would probably snitch a cinnamon roll or two along with it! All of the pictures are so pretty and the food just looks scrumptous.I'm so glad you like the little rooster. He looks so cute standing there trying to steal one of those yummy strawberries. He's smart like you.

Take good care of that leg, Miss Jean. We don't want another trip to the hospital for you for a very long time.

Love you so very much!
Martha

Oh BJ, I am so glad you didn't have to have more nasty surgery! (Although they must have had to do some cutting to get the stint in there?) You know I love your reds and those cinnamon rolls and strawberries look so good I could cry (I gave up sweets for lent, and I'm not even Catholic!)
