FLOW BLUE..

WELCOME to another fabulous BLUE MONDAY..
SMILING SALLY is our gracious host once again...
You are in for a sweet treat....all the color of BLUE.
Go by, visit with SALLY and all her followers of BLUE MONDAY !
THANK YOU, SALLY...
*
THESE are wonderful examples of FLOW BLUE serving dishes..
One is valued at $175.00
the second at $295.00
and the third at $200.00
*
ALL OF THEM ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL, wouldn't you say ?
BUT SO SO EXPENSIVE..... (especially for a SOCIAL SECURITY BUDGET) :o(
*
THESE 2 MAGNIFICENT pieces were found
at GOODWILL...of all places !! .......
BY ME !!
WOO HOO
*

I shared these on my blog once but it's been awhile so I wanted to do it again..

THE larger of the pieces.....$4.95
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT ?
I sure couldn't....I mean, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT !
*
Aren't the lids to these precious pieces just beautiful !
WHO would just give these lovely pieces away...
pieces that are plainly OLD, OLD, OLD and all the way from ENGLAND !??!
Maybe....some of the children or grands of older parents had to
clean out a cottage and since no one really WANTED these, decided
to give them to a good cause...GOODWILL...
GOODWILL profits go to helping the disabled ....
*
*
THE smaller piece...$2.95
that is TWO DOLLARS AND NINTY-FIVE CENTS....
GREAT SCOTT !!
I would have GLADLY given much more for these pieces ...
why put just a few dollars on them ? I don't get it !
*
Aren't they lovely !
I am very glad to have them here in my cottage
and happy to have them to pass on to my grands...
Will they ever end up back at GOODWILL ??
I don't think so !....but.....WHO KNOWS !
******
HAPPY BLUE MONDAY AND MUCH LOVE....

Wow! You sure lucked out finding those! I'm sure whoever priced the items that day had no idea what they were.

Oh I hope they don't ever end up back at Goodwill again. But, if they should I hope someone is just as happy about getting them as you were.

Hugs,
Joanne

Wow, BJ, that has to be the find of the century. But, I would have not known about Blue Flow either. Thank you for the lesson. I would have bought them because they are pretty. We have several huge Goodwills in our area, but I haven't been to them, I think I'd better start snooping around there.LOL

Love Ya,
Chris

They are beautiful BJ and it would be just like me to sell something priceless like that -- not having a clue about the true worth! I'm glad you found such a blessing.

Now - how do you protect them from the grandkids? lol

Have an awesome Monday!

Morning BJ....I have missed you my friend...it is so good to have the computer back up and running...I never realized how much I used my computer! lol

Love those gorgeous treasures..what a great deal on them too...it's really true what they say...'One man's trash is another man's treasure' My house is so full of my junk..uh..I mean my treasures..that when I am gone my kids will probably just hang a sign out front & say 'go on it and pick something out & leave a $1 in the bucket by the door!' lol lol

Have a great week girl! ♥

They are gorgeous - and wow! what an unbelievable deal. I think they were intended to go home with you.

BJ, they are beautiful! You got great deals. They are perfect in your stand.

Thanks for the moral support on my kitchen project. It's coming along nicely.

Those are gorgeous pieces. I need to get to my Goodwill soon!

I just love flow blue, but with the normal prices, I don't think I'm going to be buying any...unless I luck into a bargain like you did! Wow! It just amazes me what people give away, having no idea of the true value!

I'm glad you found these dishes because you will give them the love and care they deserve!

What a bargain! I just keep whining our Goodwill never has things like this!!

I always wonder what will happen to my treasures when I'm gone? My only son will probably have a huge garage sale! ;-)

People just don't know what they're giving away, and they're overwhelmed with all of their parents "stuff" sometimes.
And the people pricing things at Goodwill don't have a clue! I love the way you have these displayed, BJ.

Lisa~A Cottage To Me said...

I agree, they are gorgeous pieces! You are so lucky you found them and at great prices too! I would never be able to give something like that away. I am one for keeping family treasures in the family! I went to an Estate Sale on Sat. with my DH and there was a whole set of the Blue Willow I believe. They wanted $125.00, great price, but not in my budget. How sad these things are given away. But how lucky for you!

OMG! I can't believe you got those gorgeous dishes at that price. How come I never find good buys like that? Love the flow dishes too and I agree, they are too expensive...Christine

Bo said...

Hi BJ...your blues are wonderful...I just told Mr. Bo the other day we should probably hold our own estate sale in a few years & sell off our "junque"...because our only heir being a 13 year old male would probably care less for our stuff...but Mr. Bo didn't like my idea...he is one who keeps everything! LOL ;-)Bo

Oh, BJness! These covered casseroles are so beautiful! You did well. I love the look of Flow Blue, always have, but it does just cost too much! I'd be afraid to use them! Don't you love Goodwill!:)

Finding Flow Blue at Goodwill is what I would call a miracle! :O) I never understand why people get rid of stuff like that unless they just don't know! Good find!

Betty said...

Every once in a while someone gets caught sleeping, not knowing what they are. I am so glad you found them. As far as Goodwill, I suspect BJ raised no idiots, if sentimental doesn't keep them, wisdom will see to there parting. I hope they are sentimental.
Have a great day.

With the obvious love and respect flowing (pardon the pun) through your family ... I'm certain they will never see the inside of a Goodwill again.

Those are two very beautiful finds, BJ. I too am often amazed at the things I find at thrift stores. I just can not image how someone could part with such treasures. I guess it is true..."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Hope you have a great Blue Monday.

Love those blue and white pieces of yours! Somebody just didn't know what they had is my guess. Probably too young to appreciate these for what they are. That's okay because you have them and you DO appreciate and love them. You are just the luckiest lady!
Love you!

Those are AMAZING finds! Beautiful pieces. I am a Goodwill gal myself. Yet our's doesn't seem to have that great of pricing. A bit on the 'high' end compared to some in blogland I have found. BUT I did score nicely yesterday and plan to share that tomorrow on my blog! I was thrilled!

I love flow blue but it's a tad outside my budget.

You found gorgeous blue and white pieces at Goodwill. I think we're going to have to make a quick stop at Goodwill in Jeff City on our way home, later this week. I keep exploring GW, but not much luck, yet!

Your post takes me back to a time when I worked with a woman who knew antiques and our lunch hours were often spent at yard and estate sales. We walked into a basement, she examined a few things, and offered the lady $150 for everything if she could have it packed by 6 PM. The lady was ecstatic and started packing as soon as she took down the yard sign. My coworker had found some plates worth $100 each among many other treasures. She was a walking, talking Warman's book of knowledge.

It always amazes me what people get rid of but then it's our gain when they do:-) Such beautiful pieces you found and wow on the price!! At the weekly auction I go to they always have dishes like that and you wouldn't believe how high the bidding can get...beyond what I can afford anyway. I'd rather take my chances at places like Goodwill! lol xoxo
