OH! We all do love our BLUE MONDAY
and we are so thankful to SMILING SALLY for hosting this fun day each and every week.
Please go by, leave a sweet comment and take a look at all the other BLUES in town....
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE
AND, nearly all CAFES serve a BLUE PLATE SPECIAL
....almost always a meal so close to HOMECOOKED, it will fool ya!
MEAT LOAF is a specialty in so many little CAFES....and always, NEARLY ALWAYS, there's a heaping helping of mashed potaotes and veggies....
and most of the time.....A DESSERT !
All for one low price, too..

CAFES are so cute......especially BLUE CAFES !
how cute is that !

I was just beside myself when I saw this adorable little
because, when I was a little girl, my daddy had a cafe called....
over in the little WEST TEXAS town of PLAINVIEW....*sigh, *wanna go back, *memories
I'm not sure that I have ever seen a
cafe that was strictly VEGETARIAN but this one sure is cute, all dressed in BLUE...

Look at the BLUE inside of this cute thang !! ;O)
and have a BLUE PLATE SPECIAL...
look at the cute iron fence...
Sometimes, if you are REAL lucky, the
BLUE PLATE SPECIAL could be STEAK and served at a fabulous price ! ummmm

I see a touch of RED back there and.... there's that little BLUE thingy on....
Oh! and did you see him in ...............

Such a cute movie...
My Beautiful Daughter's favorite movie of all time !!
and a little Grand (some of you know her as DEEDS) and I watched it the other night when she spent the nite !! *snuggle, giggle, kiss kiss
**Beautiful Daughter is sick with the ole "stuff" going around.....both her daughters came home with me so mom could rest and BRYNN got sick and her dad came to get her. Please pray for them to feel better soon. !Thank you!
XO bj

You always find the cutest pictures, BJ. "Blue Plate Special" cafes are my favorite kind, and I enjoyed seeing all of those.

I hope your sick ones feel better soon.

Good morning BJ...I was just happily reading along on your blog until I came to a screeching halt about your dad's cafe in PLAINVIEW!
I went to Ash Elementary in Plainview in 5th & 6th grades... I lived with an aunt & uncle at Halfway, Tx. ...were you old enough to remember any of this?

I love the name Blue Moon Cafe. And, I would love to go to a diner for a nice breakfast this morning, but instead, it's off to work for me.

I liked that movie, too.

I hope everyone feels much better very soon. Now, don't you go be getting sick.

When we go on vacation, we look for all the local cafes to eat at. One of our rules is that we cannot eat at a chain restaurant that we have in our hometown!

I wonder what it is about blue and barbecue? We have a place here called Red Hot & Blue that specializes in Memphis style BBQ. And where did the term "Blue Plate Special" come from I wonder...

Hope all the sick are healed soon!

Jean, I'd forgotten all about PV's Bluebonnet Cafe! You do bring so many good memories back, Girl. I didn't know there were so many blue cafes. Hope Stacy and her family feel better today. Do hope you don't get it. You surely got a good exposure. If you get it take a couple of teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. Don't laugh! It really does work! An RN friend of mine told me about it and I tried it when that antibiotic made me so sick and lo and behold it stopped it right in it's tracks. Neat post today, lady.

Great Blue Monday Post. I love diner food (comfort, sigh)! Did you take all those pictures yourself?? If so you must be like one of those tornado followers!!

The good 'ol stuff is going around here too, I've been spared so far! Sending prayers your way.

Hi BJ,

Oh my - what a fun post on the Cafe Blues- your music is just perfect for the cafes. Diners have the best food - we always look for a Diner when traveling in my home state of North Carolina - seems like they all serve the best food and home made pies and yummy coconut cake.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments. For me, the joy of creating is being able to share my art and little garden and I would be delighted if you want to share my blog with your readers.
Thank you.
