TOP TEN PROJECTS, '08 and WEIGH-IN WEDNESDAY

RHONDA, OF SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY, is hosting this fun PLAY TIME today.....be sure to swing by her place and check out all the other TOP 10 PROJECTS in Blogland today.... just click on her button on my sidebar.....
********

My most current project of my bedroom was started in '08.....to be completed sometime in '09..
As most of you know, I am trying so hard to have MY bedroom have just a touch more charm...
like TINA'S of CHERRY HILL..... her beauty is on the right...*sigh

I have had as SMALL a project as simply hot gluing white, pearly buttons to a RED pillow.....

and changing the color of vintage shutters beside my FRANKLIN WOOD BURNING STOVE....

and adding a pretty, RED rug beneath my coffee table for a little more color in my living room....

TO MUCH LARGER PROJECTS .............. such as helping MR. SweetNothings build a new, back fence...then painting a sealer on every bit of it so it will look nicer a little longer.....

and HELPING him to build this beautiful, brick step outside our French doors leading to our patio....I love how I HELPED HIM build the corners...;>)

BUT, IF YOU WILL REMEMBER...our biggest project was our sweet RED kitchen...
Here it is before we added a different backsplash....
I liked the kitchen this way but really wanted a LITTLE more personality.....
I LOVE PERSONALITY!!
soooo.... WE GOT STARTED WITH THIS.......

AND then....our kitchen looked like THIS...

and I am SO happy !!

and i even got a new table top out of the whole thing....
WHAT A DEAL !!
*****
We had a few more projects but these have been the ones that I remember...
OF COURSE, when I get in bed tonight and start thinking, I will remember one that I REALLY wanted to mention...
***************************************************************

WEIGH-IN WEDNESDAY (click on her picture on my sidebar) with HELEN should help us all to keep in better shape...
The rules are to weigh yourself every Wednesday and report if you have gained or lost or are still THE SAME....if you've lost, let us know how you did it...diet...excerise...??
MY WEIGHT IS THE SAME THIS WEEK.....

GM BJ, boy you and hubby have been busy little people last year. I just love what you did to your kitchen. It has a great personality now. I bet you love that table too. I had a friend that did that to her tabletop and withstood everything from her huge family. I thought that was the smartest thing I had ever heard. Well, you have a great day.

Love Ya,
Chris

BJ ...

I love all of your transformations, but have to agree with Rosie and Chris ... your kitchen is my favorite. It amazes me that you and your husband did it all yourself!

I like your fence, too, especially the narrow planks. That was a big undertaking and it looks great.

You are truly an inspiration to all of us, and I'm so glad you shared these projects with us.

Sincerely,

Janie

BJ, you are always accomplishing wonderful things with your projects. And, the results are beautiful.

I wasn't too great with projects last year. I only managed to accomplish one of the big things on my list, but I am still hopeful for this year.

Hi BJ! I'm a BJ too, Betty Jo, often called BJ. I found your link at Dana and the Stone Rabbit's blog. You have a lovely blog and I adore that red, white, and black kitchen. xoxo

Hey BJ, what a long time it's been, but got thinking of you today and thought I'd stop by. I LOVE your new backsplash, made me instantly consider the same thing in my kitchen, I'm going to paint the cupboards black I think. I hope you're doing well, I'm good but have been so busy. I tried to go to RMS recently and can't get there, maybe it's gone?!

Good morning Bj :)

My weight is the same because I can't stop eating LOL.... um... anyway...

I love that kitchen of yours and I know how excited you were to do it and it looks absolutely fantastic!

I had to look closely at the two pictures, because the bedrooms are so similar now, but with a touch of you in yours which makes it perfect :)

You helped put up a fence and build a step?? Call me impressed!

I'm supposed to be packing, but after yesterday I needed a break and this tour was way too fun to pass up ;)

love you,
ruzzer

Oh how I love all your projects! So many pretty additions!
You have been so busy!
Your kitchen is my favorite I must say. I have been contemplating a black and white tile somewhere when we finally DO a re-work in her (Soon I pray!!) and your cabinets are gorgeous! I actually told Bill I thought red would be so cool! : ) Like an antique-y red on them...like a wash...what do I know anyway but it sounded good to me!

Your home is so beautiful. Like you, I adore every inch of Tina's home but yours is every bit as warm, charmig and pretty!! I bet Tina would agree!!

Love to you BJ,
Sue

Hello BJ I love all your improvements in your sweet cottage home. Your bedroom is looking good with the change you made with the bedding. The tile made a huge impact and your kitchen is cottage charming.

Good luck with your next weigh in. I am getting my other knee done Feb. 2nd. That will be good for 10 lbs. Ouch!! Is it worth it? Yes it is.

Hugs...Jeanne

Dear BJ,
What do you do when your new husband tells you he is not happy with you having constant projects and constantly decorating. He knew before we got married what I was like, I told him, my family told him, and friends told him. He still wanted to marry me and said I could decorate to my hearts content...now..it is a problem. Truthfully, if I can't decorate..sorry, but I can't imagine living that way. It's just a sad day for me. Your home is lovely and your husband is precious for helping you.
I had to smile when I saw the red and white check quilt. I also own it and love it. Cherry Hill is great. I agree! So glad I discovered you.

Guess what, my bestest friend! I like your bedroom better than Tina's. Although hers is a beauty, yours has more color. Still love your red kitchen! You and Mr. Sweet Nothings surely do get a lot done together. You both just amaze me!
