A WINE TASTING TABLE SETTING ~ ~

OOOO LA LA......

I was just thinking that it might be fun to have a little WINE tasting party
on this TABLESCAPE TUESDAY, hosted by SUSAN.
be sure to go over and leave a message for Susan and then check out all the pretty
TABLESCAPES....
thanks so much, SUSAN....
**********************************************
so.......come along with me and.....
we'll have fun with the little plates that have the cutest sayings on each one and there's a coaster to match each plate for you to rest your WINE glass on.....
A dear, dear friend gave me this amusing set for Christmas last year and I just love them.
GOOD WINE, GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD TIMES.......

It looks like we have 3 different wines to sample....
My personal favorite......WILD VINES BLACKBERRY...(i do believe i have mentioned that before?)
umm, umm GOOD..

THIS glass is the BLACKBERRY so, since it's MY favorite,
I get to drink it.....ALL.... !!!!!!!!

TIME..

TIME FOR WINE....

************
GOOD GRIEF...I did NOT drink THAT many bottles of VINO.....
promise !!
I had HELP !!

Now, SOME wines are absolutely DELICIOUS with
CHOCOLATE......
woooo hoooo
and my favorite JUST HAPPENS to go deliciously with CHOCOLATE of ANY KIND...
aren't I lucky !!
**********************
here's the cute sayings on these little plates.....

"MY FAVORITE THING TO MAKE FOR DINNER IS RESERVATIONS"

"I KNOW HOW TO SAVE MONEY....I NEVER MISS A SALE"

"ANY TIME I GET TIRED OF SHOPPING, I JUST SIT DOWN AND TRY ON SHOES"

"INSTANT DIVA.......JUST ADD CHAMPAGNE"

I hope you had fun at my silly, little WINE tasting table...
COME BACK ANY TIME and we'll sample some more!!
*****************
Now, go pour yourself a glass of the bubbly, fill your tub with hot water and bubbles
light a candle, turn on some cool music and get a photo of
HARRISON FORD... and......

CHILL OUT !!

LOVE, bj
*****************************
MY MOTHER'S HOMEMADE GRAPE WINE RECIPE: ;O)
***************************************
2 large cans of frozen WELCH GRAPE JUICE
4 1/2 cups of SUGAR
5 cups of LUKE WARM WATER
1/2 teaspoon of YEAST
****************
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water...Put all ingredients in a gallon jug and finish filling with VERY luke warm water. Put a balloon to top and let sit for SIX WEEKS or until BALLOON GOES DOWN....
"Be sure and get a good balloon...at least a 10 cent one. It is a good idea to have an extra balloon as one might burst.
Keep the jug warm at all times. I put a wool sweater around mine."
*******
Isn't that a hoot !! :O)
*****
She made this often and it was a very good wine. I can remember that balloon expanding and expanding and expanding until I was scared to get anywhere close to it. It actually DID burst a few times...guess she didn't get a "good" balloon !! lol....
Believe I will just stick with my BOUGHT Blackberry Wine, thank you very much !!
*************************************
**************************
you might ask a friend if she has had her mammogram this year ~
if not, tell her you'll treat her to lunch on the day she goes to have the test.....

my something PINK for OCTOBER, BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.....

**************************

DUE TO EXCESS TIME BEING SPENT ON DECIDING WHAT AND HOW MUCH CLOTHING TO TAKE ON THIS FABULOUS CRUISE, MY POSTINGS THE REST OF THE WEEK MIGHT BE SHORT AND TO THE POINT...

HEH HEH HEH.....i am excited !!!

You are making me want to try some of your blackberry wine. It sounds delish. I love your plates, and I think all of we girls just might need a set of our own.

I'm so excited for you about your cruise.

My, you're up early! I've got to remember the name of that wine for my husband to try. I bought a bottle of wine once just for the leaves painted on it. Crazy, huh? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those plates! They are SO ME! Have a great cruise. Wish I could hop in your suitcase....but I wouldn't dare take away your room for goodies!

Morning BJ, Your table is so fun! One day I will start collecting dishes ..... I have to stay away from the fabric stores first!

Lola's Mom has a good link today for Breast Cancer geared to younger ladies. Scary to think it can hit someone even in their 20"s!

Have fun packing :-) Rosie

I am excited FOR you!

My doctor said I should drink elderberry juice for better "lung health" after my pneumonia... so of course, I bought a case of elderberry wine! lol... We go through about a bottle a week, and I haven't had so much as a cold in over a year... :)
Tastes much better than medicine, too!

Well one thing is sure Bj you know how to have fun. I like your wine tasting table. Are those little doilies around the napkins or is it all part of the napkin?? I like it...

Such a cute table setting. I love the little desert plates. Such fun to start the chatter around the table. Enjoyed the story about using the balloons on the jugs. I wondered if the stuff spewed out when the balloon burst. Have a wonderful cruise.

Hey bj!
What a fun wine tasting party...those plates are adorable. They crack me up..those are just the cutest little sayings on them. We have a winery in our area that has the best tasting wine. My favorite is the honey muscadine, white. It comes in a beautiful cobalt blue bottle too. It tastes just like scuppernongs (or scuplins is what we called them in Alabama). I just love it's flavor. Your mama's recipe sounds good....I have never made homemade wine though. I think I'd be afraid to, after you having mentioned you were sometimes afraid to get near the balloon, when you were little. LOL! That made me chuckle. That's so cute! Hope you have a great day!

Queenie

Wow! What a great posting! The little sayings on the plates are a riot! Great idea...a wine tasting...love it! And I have you down for next Tuesday's TT. Sorry I didn't let you know I had gotten your comments about participating. I do add names to the list as soon as someone either emails or comments to be included. I just don't have emails for everyone so I can't really send out a mass email confirming and my time is so limited it's hard to get by each person's blog to confirm. Can I just retire now and play in blogland? :-) So glad you participated...this was great! Can't wait to see next's weeks, too! :-) Love ya, Susan

I enjoyed your wine-tasting party. I appreciate the wine recipe, but I probably will stick to store-bought wine also. I know you are getting excited about your cruise. That's the first cruise I ever went on, too. We left out of New Orleans. I had such a good time. Now I want to cruising all the time. I think it is the best way to vacation. I am looking forward to hearing all about your experiences. I can just imagine the blog posts you will come up with. Blog when you can, have fun!
See you later...Faith

I can feel your excitement and I think I have to book our next cruise soon. We will have next June 45th Anniversary and the best ( and easiest )way to celebrate it is a cruise.
My husband wanted to the Black Sea last May, now It`s my turn to choice :)
Happy cruise to you and your loved ones!

Hello BJ!

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for visiting my little red "frenchy" dining room and thank you so much for your sweet compliments!!!

Ohhh...I just love the idea of doing a wine tasting party for "Tablescape Tuesday"! I have to admit that I haven't ever tried that blackberry wine, but will certainly have to! Blackberries are my favorite fruit!!! Ummm...yummy! Your little plates and matching coasters are charming...I think the one with the saying, "Instant Diva...just add champagne" is my favorite! I love the idea of wrapping the napkins in a little crochet doily...so pretty! I'm so glad that I stopped by...I sure enjoyed your party...hehe!!!

Warmest wishes...Chari (Happytodesign)

oh, those plates are so cute, and SO you! My grandfather used to make wine from the grapes he grew in his yard. He came over from Italy when he was young, so I guess he learned to make it there.

I hope you have LOTS of fun on the cruise!!! And take lots of pics. :)

Mary

Oh I do love a glass of wine every now and then! But I rarely partake. I have a bottle of raspberry dessert wine which is just divine with chocolate. They make it at a local winery!

Next time I have a sip of wine, I'll think of you and raise a toast!
