A HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND LABOR DAY CELEBRATION...

If you read my blog very much, you know how much I love the recipes over at
THE PIONEER WOMAN
I have just about quit using all my cook books...
when I need a recipe, I now go to
REE'S blog
and I've not ever been disappointed !

THIS IS THE BEST BRISKET I HAVE EVER EATEN....ANYWHERE !
If you would like the recipe, just stop by her place, click on
COOKING
and it's called
BRISKET, BABY.....
****************************************
We had this and all the trimmings for lunch on Sunday,
celebrating LABOR DAY
and our sweet DAUGHTER*IN*LAW'S
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
photo courtsey of THE PIONEER WOMAN

I hope I don't get in trouble for using HER photo of this
BRISKET, BABY !!
We ate ours too fast for me to get pictures !

********************************************************
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATHY

"happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to you,
happy birthday, dear kathy................
happy birthday to you !"
and many more !!!

(We HAD to put a few candles on that cake so all the little girls could help blow them out !!) ;O)
************************
Please note that WE USE PAPER PLATES and RED SOLO CUPS
when we have the pleasure to have such a large crowd.
It's more fun that way...just toss those babies in the trash
and get on with the visiting and FUN of it all !!

Kathy's favorite cake is ANGEL FOOD
with Strawberries, Whipped Creme and Chocolate Syrup ..
It looks pretty, even on that paper plate, hu !!

Warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream......
we all like this one !!

******************************
Four of our grandkids couldn't be with us on Sunday but we had
fifteen anyway (some friends came ) and we had such a fabulous time.

WE ARE SO BLESSED !
love, bj

Good morning! What a peppy post this morning! Amen to you!

I spent last night in the ER just to be told I had an upset stomach. No kidding, the diagnosis and cure: MAALOX. $150 later... geeze.

Have another great day!

Hi BJ, I just realized I left you off the list for tablescapes but it looks like you decided not to post one today. I'll put you on for next Tuesday if that's ok.
Thanks for you sweet comments recently...you are a blessing!

I definitely think that "casual" dinnerware is called for when it comes to parties or large gatherings. Everything looked so good, I'm hungry. Good thing supper is not too far off. I found a recipe for an Ooey Gooey Strawberry Butter Cake by Paula Deen recently, that I can't wait to try.

Paper plates and solo cups work for me! Nothing like being able to pitch them out when done and the kitchen looks nice and tidy again.
