A YUMMY RECIPE

GOOD MORNING, SWEET BLOGGERS

RAISIN BRAND MUFFINS
*************************************

We love RAISIN BRAND cereal

And, I have been wanting to try this recipe on the back of the cereal box for awhile....
NOTE:
I had hoped you could read the recipe on the box but...no such luck !
Here 'tis....
BRUNCH MUFFINS
*********

3/4 CUP MILK
1/4 CUP VEGETABLE OIL
1 EGG, BEATEN
1 1/2 CUPS RAISIN BRAN CEREAL
1 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
2/3 CUP SUGAR
2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
1/2 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON
1 TABLESPOON MARGARINE, MELTED

************************************************

Oven, 400 degrees
Grease or paper line 12 muffin cups.
Combine milk, oil and egg in bowl. Stir in cereal and let stand 10 minutes. Stir to break up cereal.
While waiting for the 10 minutes to pass, combine flour, 2/3 cup sugar, baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon in separate bowl. Add cereal mixture all at once to the flour mixture, stir just until moistened. Divide evenly among prepared muffin cups. Bake 20 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan. Combine remaining 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Brush muffins with margarine and sprinkle each with cinnamon/sugar mixture.
(I am thinking a little CREAM CHEESE spread on top would be just full
of GOODNESS )
SERVE WARM

I decided to make them this morning

The box says "makes 12"

SURE 'NUFF....
it made a dozen ...
They sure do LOOK good !

UMMMM....
they ARE good ,
especially served warm ...
Just the right amount of raisins...
not too many
and
not too few.....
JUST RIGHT !
and....I am thinking a bit of CREME CHEESE on top would be devine !!

Bill and I love muffins for breakfast and these sure
HIT THE SPOT
this morning.

PLEASE....
HAVE ONE ON ME
(I even have some CREME CHEESE in the fridge)

I'm sorry you had a bad dream. I just hate when that happens.

I'm kind of dragging this morning, and I'm hoping my day at work goes better than it did yesterday.

I think I will have one of your bran muffins. Thanks for sharing.

May I have one with some cream cheese? And, oh, not to be a bother but my coffee cup is a bit low .... could I have a refill of that, too?

Next time, we'll go out for breakfast, my treat. The best thing I make is ..... reservations!

BJ, i was up early too, because of my elderly dog. She can be a nightmare, but we love her. Maybe you were smart and went back to bed. Something I just can't seem to do.I too, LOVE Raisin Bran cereal. I did make a mistake and purchased some from Costco, organic. It was awful stuff. I made myself eat it anyway. Do you know how much cereal that is? A BIG double bag. Sigh. I hope it was very healthy!!! I will try the muffins, they sound so good.

Love and hugs, Jeanne

Yummy, I love muffins with cream cheese for breakfast, lunch and whenever. There is a resturant in Tuscaloosa, Al called Cypress Inn that serves almost the same recipe. They are known for their mini muffins, and give out the recipe upon request. Look at their web.

Hi BJ! I am so honored you like my work, but no, I don't sell it. Just do it for myself and family. I just stitch a little here and there when I get the time. Thanks so much for the compliment.

Hi, BJ ...

I love your new look for your blog, especially the picture of those pretty window shelves in your dining room. I've always admired them and would like some somewhere in my house.

Your muffins look scrumptious and I bet they're good for you too. I'll have to try them. My three-year-old granddaughter "wuvs" Raisin Bran.

Your little "recipe cards" are a very nice touch, too.

Sincerely,

Janie

OMGosh those look so good. I love muffins - but they don't like me. I might as well duct tape them to my thighs!!!...and I can never just eat 1...which is part of the problem!

Sounds and looks yummy, I will have to try them some time. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
