CHANGES.....

TOP OF THE MORNING TO EVERYONE

**********************

I just love how everyone is adding either paper or fabric to the backs of their
hutch, cabinet, secretary.....
The above fabulous hutch belongs to

and didn't she do a wonderful job on it!
I am crazy about adding the chicken wire...and the
fabric to the back.
Oh, and having the BLACK AND WHITE plates in there doesn't hurt, either ! ;O)
Here is ROSIE'S beautiful RED hutch with the prettiest paper...
AHHH, ROSIE, you are a girl after my own heart...
We both LOVE red !
You did such a fine job on this and made it such a
SHOWPIECE !

and....
this beauty belongs to
RUE
I didn't think you could make this piece any prettier, Rue....
but YOU DID IT, GIRL ...
it is just BEAUTIFUL

**********

I KNOW there's a LOT more redoes like these...
I've seen several more in BlogLand but I can't remember WHERE...
(remember...I'm old)
****************************************
You don't HAVE to have a secretary, hutch or cabinet, as such, to make a pretty change....

I wanted to show you that you can do FUN things to an
ORDINARY WALL SHELF
if you'd like....
(a great way to add desired color or texture to your room )

I just painted this little shelf BLACK (what else!!)
($2.00 at a garage sale)
Added some rusty, pretty brackets,
covered a piece of cardboard, cut to fit,
in a pretty BLACK AND WHITE TOILE .......

and hot glued it to the back of the shelf......
The fabric just added another layer to the overall look...
and shows off my collection of thrifted
WHITE IRONSTONE SUGAR BOWLS.

SPEAKING OF WHITE IRONSTONE....

I, too, wanted something different for my
antique hutch...
and had this red fabric on hand.
I just tacked it to the back for easy removal...
(did you notice we ALL used RED ?)

I dearly LOVE the look of the
WHITE IRONSTONE
against the red of the fabric....

(A lot of you have seen this hutch before)

*************************
CHANGES are just a way to infuse variety, fun, freshness and love into
our lives and homes.
Just the tinest change in a room can seem to make it come alive...glow with a freshness that makes you wonder, "Why didn't I try it this way before?"
Just this morning, I moved a lamp in my living room to another spot...
it just seemed to make that end of the room look MUCH better....
I love changing things in my rooms and, most of the time, I like changes
in my life.....

AHHHHHHH.......

AIN'T LIFE JUST A BOWL OF CHERRIES !!

The shelf with the black/white fabric in back you created made a perfect spot to highlight your collection. Just tell people you are getting smarter in your "old" age...

Have a great week.

It's so true, isn't it?! The littlest change can make things prettier, make life easier... My in-laws bought me new pots & pans for my birthday and I can't believe how much more I enjoy cooking now! Not a decorating example but it reminded me that little things can have a huge impact. Blessings... Polly

Yes sometimes change is a good thing. I remember your hutch from RMS and I'm thinking you added the material before you started blogging and found out paper, material, etc. in your hutch was all the rage. Could you have started the trend with out realizing it? Love the shelf idea too.

I want to "change" a hutch or cabinet, I just can't decide which one. I love the "changes" you have made, so cute.

OHHH I love the idea of adding a back and fabric to an open shelf...AREN'T YOU JUST THE CLEVER ONE!! It takes it from feeling a bit spindly and insubstantial into something with dramatic impact. I'm so stealing this idea! I hope you have a TREMENDOUS TUESDAY!

BJ; I love your two dollar shelf, it looks like a 100 bucks. And your hutch is so beautiful, the color just pops. I love all the hutches. I have one but the back is one long mirror. Maybe I can staple the fabric to the back and cover the staples with trim. What do you think of that??? Have a great week

Hugs;
Alaura
