IT'S A KID THANG.....

I WANT TO SHOW YOU JUST A FEW THINGS AROUND MY COTTAGE THAT OUR GRAND KIDS SEEM TO JUST
L.O.V.E.
My sister-in-law brought this little black lacquer GAME back to me about 46 years ago from JAPAN

Each little cup is numbered and you are actually SUPPOSED to fill each cup with a different kind of liquor, roll the die and whatever number you roll, you drink from that little cup...... WHOA !!

Our kids like to play it another way, however.....(thank goodness !!)
They fill each cup with some GREAT things like,
whipped creme
chocolate syrup
cherries
bits of cookie and etc......

THEN

they fill the other cups with REALLY BAD things like;
cooking oil
vinegar
Crisco
hot sauce and etc.....
Then, they take turns rolling the die and having to TASTE whatever is in the cup they were dealt !!

OOOOO
of all the moaning and groaning
and
oooing and ahhhhhing
going on !!

We don't ALWAYS have STRAWBERRIES around but when we do.....
they aren't EATEN....
they are INHALED !!!!
THEY ALL LOVE STRAWBERRIES

They all just love the new
EAT CAKE
letters in the kitchen
One said it makes it feel just like a FAIRY LAND
(i love that !!)

They all love this little IRON FAIRY with the bird on her knee...
They pick it up, rub it, look at it and smile
(i love that, too)

Sometimes, during the summer, it is
HARD
to keep their COOKIE JAR full

OOPS...looks like it is time to
REPLENISH
here, too

For MARSHMALLOWS
OF COURSE

They all want a

"CHECKER TABLE"
just like this one GRANDDAD built
for THEIR house
(HE loves that !!)

I know I have blogged and bogged about this table but.....
we just love it, so what can I say??

PEANUT BUTTER CRACKERS
GUMMY WORMS
SUCKERS
CHERRY SOUR BALLS
or
anything else that looks good from the store

**********************************

I KNOW, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THAT I WAS PUT ON THIS EARTH TO BE A GRANDMOTHER
and
TO MAKE CERTAIN SURE, TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITIES, THAT THEY ARE KEPT
HAPPY

love to all,

5 OF THE 7 GRANDDAUGHTERS...

AIN'T IT GRAND !!

Hi BJ,

Thanks for visiting my blog! I can see why your grandkids love to visit you--your home looks like a treasure trove of neat things. I remember my grandma always had a certain dish filled with peanut m and m's--we went straight for that dish every time we visited! I love the game from Japan and how you have adapted it for children! My kids would love that game!

BJ ... I'm sure you've heard the expression "When a Child is born, so is a Grandmother," and that is so true.

There's just nothing like making sweet memories with your grandchildren, and you seem to have it down to an art with your gumball machine, cookie and candy jars, arts and crafts, and an abundance of love for each and every one of those precious granddaughters.

We have one granddaughter, Avery Grace, who just turned three, and I honestly don't know what we did before she was born. She is truly our "little Miss Sunshine."

Happy "grandmothering!"

Sincerely,
Janie

Oh, you are such a great grandmother! I believe you just put me to shame in the "granny" department. I just have one little 2 yr old grand daughter, but I think she is the greatest and I sneak in a bit of spoiling whenever I can.

Sweet family and sweet pictures thanks for sharing them

Hey! We used to have the exact same gumball machine.. :)

For some reason, your "Eat Cake" letters remind me of one of my favorite books when I was little - Alice in Wonderland.. they make me smile every time I see them... :)

It looks like you have a wonderful Gramma house for your Grands! I wish my younger ones were closer - they're in another state so don't see them as often as we'd like to.

BJ, I just love your blog! Your home is adorable and obviously full of love. Thanks for sharing so faithfully!

I have an idea...you are so wonderful at hosting gatherings so I'm posing this to you. How about a "Show What's On Your Walls" gathering. I've been working on some decorating and the walls always stump me. Prints and paintings are a big commitment lots of times and I don't even see things that I want all that often. Need some inspiration!

Thanks for brightening so many mornings for me.

Stacey :)
