SWEET DREAMS ~

It is seldom.....VERY seldom that I get all new bedding so, I am truly sorry, but you have to look at a BUNCH of pictures of MY NEW BEDDING for a guest room.

Re-painting the walls have been something I've wanted to do for at least a year ....

in fact, I bought the paint last year to do it....but ........

now that I have this new bedding, I like my PINK walls again !!

Cute little eyelet skirt, peeking out.....

I am so into greens right now and I think this is just full of yumminess...

I hope my guests will like it.....

...my sweet sister*in*law that was much more like my sister used to call this HER ROOM....She passed away last summer and I can't even talk about it right now... my heart hurts too much..

This little pitiful chest was my son's, (aka THE HANDSOME ONE) when he was 2 years old. He is now past 40. *sob

I just repainted it and applied rose transfers (I'm not an artist like so many of you on here are. *sob) so I adore TRANSFERS !

None of the rest of my house is Shabby Chic (parts of it, however, are sure SHABBY) .....

but a wonderful friend gave me this vintage iron bed years and years ago and I've just always kept it and this room a little bit on the country side......

It feels so airy ..... and clean...... and uncluttered....

The bed is one that has to have wooden slats beneath the box springs and, half the time, when I clean under the bed, some of the slats have fallen out. I tell my grand kids to just "lie still all night long so the slats won't fall out and make the bed fall down".. .........

Well, of course, they think how fun THAT would be if it DID fall so I'm pretty sure they squirm a lot in that bed....just hoping .................and giggling.......

(if I knew for certain sure that no one would get hurt, I'd take every one of those slats out some night and LET that bed fall with them....wouldn't that be such a fun memory for them?)

SWEET DREAMS

PLEASE remember to say a prayer for our friend, DEENA

Morning, BJ. What a gorgeous room you have created! I love all the pinks and greens. My house is more reds and mustards.....but I had to do the porch in pinks and greens this year. I am so influenced by my wonderful blogging peers!

I love your guest room. I'd sure like to see it 'in person' so we could have a good chat. The old iron bed is just right and all the touches of color make the room bright and cheery. ~Adrienne~

Good Morning BJ,
Your Guest Bedroom is so beautiful. I love the green and pinks together. It's so Spring looking and looks so fresh and clean. My Mom has an Iron Bed very similar to yours. I'm sorry about the passing of your SIL last Summer and I know it still hurts, but she is in a much better place now and watching over you. I'm sure she is very pleased with how you have redone "Her Room". "THANK YOU" for showing us your beautiful Guest Bedroom. I did enjoy seeing it. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Well BJ you did it again ! You made me laugh this morning, your story about the bed falling did it ! We used to have a bed that one of the slats fell out all the time and when someone would sit on it & it fell, the look on their face was priceless !We would bend over laughing! Thanks for the memory BJ.
Your room is so pretty & clean looking, just makes you feel good all over doesn't it ?

It does look so cozy and inviting! I had a bed just like that when I was in high school - and those slats did have a habit of falling out a bit. :)

LOL...when I saw the first picture I remembered I had sheets in the washer and had to get up and go take care of that...now I'm back!

I tell you gal, that bed and room is so cozy looking, I could crawl right up onto that bed and take a wee nap...I did not sleep good last night...boo!

I've slept on many a bed where the slats would scare the bejeebers out of you by falling out as you wiggled around.☺

PS...come by my place as I'm having a Mother's Day Giveaway I would hate for you to miss out on!♥

Good Afternoon Sweet Dear BJ~
Thanks so much for your sweet and heartfelt expressions of gratitude and friendship. I, too, feel like you have been a dear old friend to me, and would love to get together and have lunch with you. It would be so much fun and I am sure you are so much fun to go out with!
Maybe someday, Lord willing!.
BTW, I LOVE this room. It looks so cottagy to me, and you know how much I love cottage! Hmmm, maybe I can "test drive" your room...Now that would be fun!
I bet you are the best grandmother in the whole wide world! Those kids must love you so much.I love the idea of the boards falling out. I remember that when I was younger and how much fun it was for me, too.
You are the BEST in ALL catagories...

Oooh, what pretty bedding! I love the color combo! Very fresh looking. And that iron bed is fabulous! Don't you love having a room in your home that you can make kind of girly? That's why I love my little girl's room, which is also pink and green. It let's me get my "girly" decorating fix!

BJ,

Your room is delightful and so warm and cozy. I would love to have a room like that.

I don't buy new bedding often and then usually it is only sheets. Last year my friend gave me a bed in a bag - the first I'd ever had.

Love the eyelet skirt and the colors. Green is my favorite color and this ties in so well with the pink walls.

Thank you so much for the bird bath idea for my stump. I think I just might have a content to see who can give me the best idea, so keep yours in mind.

Take care, my friend. It was nice of you to stop by. I haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well with you. Have a wonderful week.

Blessings,
Mary

BJ- What a lovely guest room. I would love to stay in there. My sister-in-law and I are very close and both of us refer to her guest room as my room. She just called me the other day and told me she had my room painted. Love that!

To answer your question about where I put the things I weed out you can go to this link to see: http://thecottagenest.blogspot.com/2007/01/shop-at-home.html
Some of the things I will get rid of in my upcoming garage sale but I like have the shelves to go shop at! Take care. Jen

Love your pretty sweet bedroom! Everything looks lovely! My bedroom is pink too. I was starting to get tired of it, and was thinking of painting mine too in a cream color. Hummm, maybe I won't.
