I'M DREAMING OF COUNTRY FRENCH...today

ONE thing I have on my BUCKET LIST is to go to FRANCE one day....

Well, folks, it " ain't gonna happen"...

SOOOO,
I figure the next best thing is to have something FRENCHIE to look at...

Oh, I do love Country French...

I love the colors, the fabrics, the excitement of Country French...

I love that it fits in with so many other styles without looking out of place

It looks fabulous alone,
with vintage,
cottage style,
traditional

I think another reason for liking it is that it is so informal and comfortable looking.

A room decorated in Country French is ALWAYS a warm looking room;

most likely the WARM colors used

I wish I had a French Villa,
here in the USA, OF COURSE....with all of it's charm and personality

But...the look can also be achieved thru fabulous colors, and romantic furniture in a plain, vanilla house, too.

I just don't quite know how to do it nor can I afford to change all the furniture I have now.
BUMMER !!

OKAY, THEN, the NEXT best thing is to have just SOMETHING that reminds me of
FRANCE

SO WHAT if it's only a COUNTRY FRENCH MAGAZINE to drool over !!

Country French furniture has such a pleasing style to it...

the curve of the legs,

the rich fabrics...

And, the blues, added with the bright colors, the toiles.....

it is all just very pleasing to my eye.

After I looked at the little plates on the wall in this photo, I looked at mine and they were too close together.

I had to REHANG them so they looked more like those three on this wall !

Like...how 3 little plates are hung really matters but.........it does!
IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS, YA KNOW

This precious piece was found at a thrift shop, so the article in a magazine states..

since they wanted to put it in front of a window, the fella removed the backing of the piece so that light could

still come thru. Smart, hu?

I love that CHOCOLATE LAIT sign.

Just little touches added to your room can really make it sing.

It's this kind of thing that keep a room from becoming boring and "just like every one elses", I think..

Boy...I need to go THRIFTING AGAIN.....AND SOON
Maybe I'll find just the right piece to prime and paint, fluff and primp to make my own
TOUCH OF FRANCE
to add to my room

OH LA LA

NEED I REMIND YOU TO SEND IN YOUR KITCHEN PHOTOS

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY

BJ, you just always make me smile. Your posts are so uplifting.

I adore Country French, too. It exudes warmth and charm.

And, every picture you share of your home exudes warmth and charm. Just like the lady of the house.

I can't wait until Monday. This is going to be so fun.

Hi Bj
Isn't it fun to dream? I love the French country look too and you found some wonderful photos of it!
WOuldn't it be fun to start decorating from scratch and actually choose what your decor will be?
I already featured my kitchen in a blog so I wasn't going to send in photos for your kitchen feature.
Hope you have a great hoilday weekend.

BJ, this the third time I have tried to send you a comment. The same thing happened when I sent a post to Penny. Hers finally went through.

I love French Country and so does my daughter. We always decorate together, and I love the times we are together. Actually I am usually decorating my children's homes per their request. Lucky me, I love to decorate.

Good luck with the kitchen posts. I don't envy you. Of course I am computer challenged! :)

Love ya, Jeanne

I am Fieldstone from Rate My Space--I so much admired your letter-writing alcove and it looks like you've left that photo as your porch light. Don't see you around these days. Please check Gollum's blog for May 25 at http://designsbygollum.blogspot.combecause your alcove is honored as one of the best places! Gollum is a decorator who sometimes talks about RMS! God bless you on this Memorial Day weekend. Pam

I love the French country look! I actually did go to France 9 years ago, but it was to Paris. I thoroughly loved it there and hope to go back someday, but I'd really love to visit Provence and the French countryside! Until then, like you, I'll dream!
