~ HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ~

MOTHER'S DAY FLOWERS FOR YOU

*********************************

THIS IS MY MOTHER

The picture says "Helen, age 17" on the back
Her name was HELEN FREDERICK JACKSON RAMSEY HAWKINS

and I loved her very much..........
As her mother's brother, FREDERICK, was leaving for WW ONE, she promised him that no matter if she had a boy or a girl, her expected baby would have his name ! My mom was very proud of that name, too.
************************************

She was born in 1917 in East Texas and even though she moved to West Texas when she was 29 years old and spent the rest of her 71 years here, she never lost her East Texas drawl.....

She was, by far, one of the most talented ladies that ever lived. She could paint, sew like a pro, all kinds of crafts, was the best baker EVER, EVER !!
She had a fantastic personality and lots and lots of friends.

But, most of all, she was such a great MOTHER.
She made our home a place full of wonder and wonderfulness for my little brother and I........

Oh, don't get me wrong.....she could be very stern about some things but we kids learned early on that if we could only get her tickled, she soon forgot why she was upset with us !!
*****************************

She could do anything she made her mind up to do and she did it WELL.
She dearly loved to dance to

BOB WILLS and THE TEXAS PLAYBOYS

********************************

She has been gone 20 years last month and I miss her today as much as I did when she went HOME

I'll not have her on my mind at all, be cooking and reach for a hot pad that she made, and my loss of her washes over me like cold water. I pray I am loved enough that I will be missed in the same way because it's a GOOD missing...it shows how close we were and how intertwined our lives were, ALWAYS.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS EVERYWHERE

Oh BJ, I fully understand what you are saying. My mom went home 20 years ago next month and there are days it was just like yesterday. I still miss her a lot and always will.

I have a very strong feeling you ARE loved as much as you loved your mom.

I know I love you and I have not even met you in person.

Have a wonderful mothers Day.

God bless you and yours,
Joanne

Thank you for the Mother's Day flowers! They're so beautiful. I loved the post about your mother, especially about her name. My mother was called Fritzi until she was age 6 and had to have an official name before going to school. My biological grandmother had so many children, that she didn't get around to giving them formal names right away. For the longest time, the two youngest were called Big Baby and Little Baby, lol.

I know how you mean about little things making you think of your mother. I am missing mine a lot today.

What a loving tribute to your beautiful Mom, BJ.
I know that feeling of "loss washing over you like cold water" It's been six years for me this week.
It is a good missing though, because like your Mom, my Mom was also loved so much and our lives were intertwined.
Happy Mother's Day..

I just red your post and loved it so much. We love the same things and we are almost the same age. My mother went home 20 year ago and your beautiful post about your mom could be my mom. She was an amazing woman that left her six children loving life, each other and most of all, God. Please visit me at Backyard Neighbor.

Blessings, Jeanne
