THE FOLLOWING are from DONNA KAY at LIFE ON PRIMROSE LANE

" BJ - this is my kitchen - NOT my favorite kitchen!!!! Very small and needs lotz of updating. "

"Look at the door to the pantry in this one.....LOVE IT!!!!"
Me, too, Donna
" I love red in a kitchen, but it is still so light and airy!!!!!"

I love that pretty skirt under the sink
Just as soon as my sweet hubby puts in a FARM SINK just like this one,
I WILL have a pretty skirt beneath it, says bj

" I think the name of the blog from this one is One Woman's Cottage - I got these off flikr - but I do remember seeing a blog with the remodeling of this kitchen on it - and I absolutely love this kitchen!!!"

Many thanks, DONNA....these are ALL just fabulous
***********

THE FOLLOWING 8 PHOTOS are from JANIE of SOUTHERN LAGNIAPPE
JANIE has this to say about her FABULOUS kitchen

"Like most people, there are things I like about my kitchen and things I don't like. We bought the house new and I didn't have any input into the design, but if I could start from scratch, these are the things I would change about it:

1. My first priority would be to lower the counter tops which are 38" tall. I don't know what possessed the builder to make them that high, but I'm 4'11" and have to stand on my tiptoes when I'm stirring something, or have to put the bowl in the sink to stir. NOT good!

2. I would also paint the walls "Powell Buff," by Benjamin Moore, to make the cabinets stand out, and would paint the island black, with a "distressed" effect.

3. I would replace the lower cabinets with drawers and install oil-rubbed bronze cup drawer pulls

Now, I would just about KILL to have these pantry drawers in MY humble kitchen

THIS kitchen has LONG been a favorite of mine since I first saw it posted on RATE MY SPACE, where it holds a VERY HIGH RATING

" Things I love about my kitchen:"
My Viking Induction Cook top (it's absolutely wonderful!)
Cabinet and Pantry Storage Space
Lots of Counter top Space
The China Cabinet with Glass Doors
Staggered Cabinets with Crown Molding
Viking Vent Hood

"If I had to choose my favorite RMS kitchen, I guess it would be this one by "sswelch" ... I love the contrast and detail of the white molding around the cook top."
MANY thanks for taking us on the tour of your lovely kitchen

THE following charmer is from the dreams of MARY at MARY'S WRITING NOOK
I can see just why it is YOUR DREAM KITCHEN
Can you just imagine starting off your day in such a cheery place !
Thank you so much for giving us a visual of how YOUR kitchen may look one day, MARY
********************
I hope you are enjoying the Kitchens you've been seeing during this open house...
Have you found anything you might want to add to YOUR kitchen ?
I sure have !!

(My hubby is beginning to look WORRIED)
********************
The following 3 photos belong to one of my dearest friends,

ALICE
She has this to say about her pretty domain....
"I redid my kitchen and finally have it pretty much done. It's a small kitchen and room for only one cook at a time, but it works for me. I'm getting to the point that I don't want to put much more effort into redoing things anymore. It's a hassle for me to even paint nowadays so I just quit looking at that which needs it. "
Ha, haaa...Alice...I know JUST what you mean !!

Oh, Alice...I do love your light BLUE cabinets and the darker blue counter top...
and your new BLACK appliances look just perfect with your blue

YOU DID A FABULOUS JOB, GIRLFRIEND

MANY THANKS for sharing your kitchen with us

Hi BJ,
I am sending this comment from my sister. I find that all kitchens are fantastic and since I am in a search for a perfect new cottage kitchen you are helping me a lot. Actually now I have more fantastic ideas which I don't know how to make it real in my small kitchen space.
Wish you nice day.
Suzy from Wild Rose Cottage.

BJ, thank you for taking the time to show us all those beautiful kitchens. I know you put a lot of time-consuming work into compiling all the pictures and information and I've loved seeing them.

I do want to let you that my name is Janie, not Julie, though. My blog is "Southern Lagniappe."

Thank you, again, for your Kitchen Open House ... what a great and useful idea!

I can't wait to see tomorrow's photos. ~~ Janie

Good morning Bj :)

I'm having so much fun! All these kitchen are wonderful, but my heart has a special place for that kitchen Mary picked. It reminds me of my grandma's kitchen when I was little except it was yellow not red. Loving this :)

Thank you again for doing this Bj and thank you for mentioning Gollum.

BJ,

I love all the kitchens but am hoping one day to have a retro kitchen similar to the photo I sent in. I love a red & white kitchen and mine needs so much work.

Thanks for hosting this special event. I'm having fun just looking at everyone's submissions.

Hello BJ, Just now got home from my two mile walk on a mountain road. I try to walk everyday. I just realized I didn't check out the kitchens yet. I must be slipping.
Day three is terrific. I love the red accents and or features of the red floor and cabinets. I have a very red accent on my breakfast area wall below the chair rail. I didn't show that part of my kitchen. sigh!

Thanks again for a lovely kitchen tour. Jeanne

This is no small task you have undertaken, but it's been fun going thru all the kitchens and thanks for doing it. You should be working at a magazine!

I put in a plug on my blog today for the event...and the rolls are wonderful - I can smell them from here...
Thanks again....

BJ,

Thanks again. That one kitchen is one I also downloaded from RMS. I just love the charm of it and didn't notice that the countertops are so high...that would be stressful for a lot of cooking.!! I was going to mention Gollum in a post sometime soon. I love the program she has that makes the photos into works of art.

Well, we're almost done w/ our kitchen. I could take pics now. I just keep thinking of that "one last thing to do". My apron sink did get a ticking skirt I posted recently. The skirt is crooked and needs to be ironed as pointed out by my mother-in-law! ROFL! And I love the pantry doors (screen doors!!!!). So clever! Your rolls look fab. Would you have any applebutter per chance?! It reminds me of my Mother whom I miss so very much! Thank you for bringing sunshine to my day.

This was such a fun idea. I love looking at the different styles of all the kitchens and trying to pick one I would love to have. There are so many great ones it's hard to only have one.

Oh and I must say those rolls look like they came from Heaven. How I wish I could have one for real. Nothing like home made bread or rolls.
