A MEMOIR AND ANOTHER WINTERY DAY TO EMBRACE ~

Sweet PAT at BACK PORCH MUSINGS tagged me for the
6 WORD MEMOIR.....

" 'MORNIN', LORD...... BLESS EVERYONE I LOVE"

and that includes all of my blogging friends. You are all so sweet and fun and just make me so happy that I started blogging. Thank you!!

I would like for any or all of you to play along with this one....
*********************

I looked out yesterday and it was spitting a little snow, wind was blowing and it was COLD. Brrrrrrrrr. Poor English Ivy is trying so hard to make bigger leaves but THIS day is too cold to help it along.

OOPS, I put a little water in here for the 6 ROBIN RED BREASTS I saw in my front yard and now it's frozen. Hope it doesn't make the bowl of the birdbath break.....it HAS done it before. :(

Now, on this cold, wet day, I can either run back and jump in bed and blow the entire day off or I can do something good for my soul......

SOOOOO.....
....I made a big roaring, comforting fire.....

Then I cut up a lot of fresh veggies into my crock pot for a good, hearty Vegetable Soup .

I've got it going good now and am thinking a big pan of KAREN'S (at KAREN'S KORNER) Buttermilk Cornbread is sure going to taste good with THIS.

Then, I sit down in front of the fire with my vintage wicker suitcase I bought at the thrift shop and a stack of magazines...and a little pile of ribbon.

This is but a fraction of the decorating magazines that I have.....Beautiful Daughter did talk me into giving away some of the magazines, so now.....I CAN BUY SOME MORE!!!!!!!

Once I get tired of the way this looks, I'll close the lid and slide the whole thing back beneath my coffee table....for right now, I like the way this looks.

I spent a great day, just doing "little things"....and....that soup and cornbread really hit the spot!!
Hugs to all, bj

Good Morning BJ,
Well your Snow looks like what we got on Tuesday. Nothing to really write home about. We have been under a Winter Storm Warning since midnight last night but I get up this morning and look out my window and what do I see? NOTHING!!!! They were predicting us to get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of Snow. According to the radar earlier, it has split and gone all around us once again. I was so hoping for some measureable Snow. It is very windy outside this morning tho. That wind will cut right thru you. What time will lunch be? I will be over for some of that yummy looking vegetable soup and some cornbread. If I get a chance and ain't too tired, I may fix a pot. We are going to start our move in the morning and hopefully get everything moved while my DH is home. He will have to leave out on Sunday morning, so we have to try and get everything done on Saturday. Take care my friend and have a great day/weekend. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
P.S. I love how you have decorated all of your magazines with the ribbon. It all looks very beautiful in your wicker suitcase.

Sounds like a good snuggly day! Your basket of magazines looks pretty - Do It YourSelf used to be my all time favorite magazine, but it's really changed. They can't seem to keep an editor. Soup and corn bread sounds good for a cold day!

Hi Bj!! So this is where you've been hiding ;) Everyone at RMS still talks about you taking roosters and asks about you all the time. I guess they don't know that you have a blog. You mentioned it a long time agao, but I didn't really know anything about them and anything I do for some reason takes me awhile to get the hang of. Hard to teach a semi-old dog new tricks LOL Anyway, thank you so much for coming by and for actually even remembering me in the first place. I'm really excited about this and I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it. I'm so weird... Hope to see you over there again!

Hi BJ,

I love the way you tied those magazines with ribbon in your basket! Cute, cute cute!!! Oh and I can practically smell that yummy soup cooking. It's been 80 degrees here today and I'd still be happy with a bowl of it!

Well that sounds like a fun day! A warm fire, yummy, good for you food, and some puttering around. I really like how the suitcase has that lacey section in the top that holds your magazines. What a cool find! Have a great weekend BJ!
