In case you haven`t met Beverly Hendricks of San Antonio, Texas, please take a moment to learn about her mission to educate the world about the statistics of Breast Cancer. Since being diagnosed herself in December of 2003, Beverly has not only mustered up the strength to fight through her own personal battle with breast cancer, but she`s so selflessly driven "awareness" to the next level. Literally! For two years, Bev, her devoted family and several generous volunteers put their heart, sweat and tears into the re-birth of a 1960 Shasta Trailer now known as "THE PINK WINGED WARRIOR”. What is she going to do with a pink Shasta trailer you ask? Well, this is what she had in mind, before the PWW was born:“I became determined to find an old camper, fix it up, and attend camping and Breast Cancer Awareness events across the US to tell women like me about the statistics.” And so, she travels…
"People ask me all the time, "Why did you really do this?" My answer to them is simple...What else could I have done? I am not a Doctor, Chemist, or Surgeon. I know nothing about Chemo or Radiation except how it feels to receive it...I do not have millions or even hundreds of dollars to get this information to the next family it is likely to effect. So I will do it my way ...in a Little PINK Travel Trailer, and effect as many people as I can. I hope you can share in the joy of the journey with me. PINK Huggs! Beverly Hendricks"
If you'd like to read Bev's entire story, or see more photos and slide shows, please visit her myspace page at: The Pink Winged Warrior Kudos to you, Bev! To say you're making a difference would be an understatement. You are a real Hero. 1 in a Million, you could say! XOXO
She and SO many other brave women are helping to educate all of us on this dreaded disease. EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE HEROS ~ and I go down on my knees for you.
Prayers and hugs to all of you,
bj

I am always amazed at the heros among us who have overcome and gone above and beyond in thinking of others and giving so selflessly. Bev is one of those wonders:>)

Good Morning BJ,
This is such a wonderful post. I did enjoy it very much. I have lost an Aunt back in 1980 to Breast Cancer and I know what these ladies are going thru. Of course, back then, they didn't have all the new technology they do now. I stand in AWE at all the Survivors of Breast Cancer and feel a connection to them. "THANK YOU" for sharing this wonderful post BJ. Take care my friend and have a great day/weekend. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for leaving your sweet comments. I peek in here often but don't always stop long enough to leave a comment or say hi. I'll be back again soon.

What a neat idea to help promote awareness of breast cancer. My daughter and I raised money and participated in a 2 day walk last year and since then I realize what heroes the survivors are. I know so many women who have had the disease and am praying for 4 women that I know who are going through chemo right now. Thanks for sharing. I will take a look at her myspace page. Rhondi xo
