TEA TIME ~

One of our granddaughters, Deeds, LOVES tea parties. To make sure she continues to enjoy this fine affair, we have a tea party only rarely. This seems to keep it special. I can always tell when it's time and I get out the "fixins" for fancy sandwiches.......

Our favorite is Creme Cheese and chopped pecans......oh, how good they taste with Raspberry Tea, served out of a tea pot into a pretty cup.

I chop the pecans in her Great-Grandmothers little vintage, glass chopper. We have an electric chopper but, somehow, it just seems more fun to use my mom's little chopper. Just adds a little "from the past" flavor to our tea, I think.

Once we get the chopped pecans and creme cheese mixed together, our mouths are watering! We are, by this time, REALLY ready for a snack, and a lovely one, at that.

We cut our sandwiches into little flowers, pour our tea into little cups with heart shaped saucers, add sugar cubes to our cups (1 lump or 2?), light a sweet smelling candle......

and we have our afternoon tea, in style.

Of course, there's the left-over sandwiches with the middle cut out for us to finish off if we are still hungry. I notice, however, that Deeds little finger isn't lifted quite as high when eating these as it is when she's munching on the little flower sandwiches! This always makes me smile.......

Oh, how I pray that she will always love the "teas" of life........ and never forget how to play !
Have tea with one you love today!! It will make you smile.....

I know she will never forget the Tea Times yall have together. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Wonderful story! Makes me wish my daughter wasn't all grown up and such a tough tomboy... She would roll her eyes at me if I even suggested this... lol Seems after one finally makes it to 21, there is a period where playing is not allowed... Like it would deem her "adulthood" null void... I went through that too, I suppose, although I don't remember when I "got my play back"!

I bought my Ky granddaughter a little plastic tea set for Christmas. We had "pretend" tea several times while I was visiting. I told her if she enjoyed this set I will get her a real set for her birthday in June. Now she can't wait.

What a precious tea you had!

I'm actually having a cuppa "Yorkshire tea" my favorite and some cheese and crackers, right now. Your flower sandwiches look way better...why don't you pass me one over here, hmmm??

Hi BJ, how fun to have a tea party with your granddaughter and your tea sandwiches look so yummy. I've always loved tea parties..when I was little I would make mud pies and would serve them with tea to my dolls. Such sweet memories. Linda

PJ, you have made me feel like I was right there at the tea party sipping tea and eating flower sandwiches. What a neat posting. Loved the pictures.

Have a good week.

Oh, what a great idea. I would have loved that as a child. Heck, I would love that now. Remember when some of the department stores had "tea" rooms? My Mom used to take me to them. They were more like restaurants to me, but I'm sure the tradition of tea was where they started.
What cute little sandwiches.
Hugs,
Nan
