Altho these are not "my" colors, I think this bedding is so cheery. I LOVE that old salvaged piece above her bed.
I just get a warm, fuzzy feeling when I think of being in a room like this one...the oldness of the brick, the softness of the throws on the leather, the glowing fire, the unexpectedness of the chandelier in an unexpected place, the luscious, old fashioned wall paper....oh, me.....I AM IN LOVE !!
I must admit...I COVET a farm house sink like this!!! This room is so full of charm and personality, it just sets my heart racing 90 miles an hour. I love every thing about it. If I am not mistaken, this kitchen belongs to the same talented, blessed and down-right lucky lady that owns the above living room. To just THINK of starting my day in a space as warm and loving as this kitchen makes me smile.
Tho just a tad too formal for my every day living, I think the colors she used here are just remarkable. That burst of red with the tray of cheese and grapes sits the whole thing off. She is a wonderful photographer as well as a jam-up great decorator. And, again, I find the touches of black seem to ground every thing.
AHHHHH, Penny at LAVENDER HILL STUDIOS, here's another of our red sofas. Doesn't it look fabulous here? I used to say "I don't like anything in pairs" but then, I noticed I liked matching lamps, matching pillows, matching tables....I am pretty sure it was my MOTHER that didn't like things in pairs and you know how we try to like just what our moms like. Then, once we admit that we DO have a mind of our own and that it is ALRIGHT if we like something she didn't like and visa-versa, we can finally start decorating (or whatever) the way WE like. I love the matching lamps and pillows in this picture. THERE, I said it!
Simple and lovely. The only thing I would add if this were my kitchen? RED !! :)
Do ya'll love this kitchen as much as I do? Great Scott...!! And, did you notice the ceiling? RATE MY SPACE has some fabulous kitchens....if I had to choose just one favorite, I would be in trouble because there's too many I like.
I love this bright and cheery dining room. I couldn't use the slipcovers on the chairs like this because there's too many of us sitting down to eat....these pretty covers would end up on the floor or such. But they do look so pretty in the picture. And, I love her red walls and checked curtains.
I just wanted you to see the detailing on the end of her cabinet here. This is something fairly simple to do, not too expensive and boy, does it add personality to the whole room. I saw this and walked around my house for days, looking for ways to add interest to my rooms thru moldings. We did add it to our french doors in the living room and I LOVE IT.
I think this is a precious and interesting bedroom. I have decided I love "different"...something not like everybody else's. I think this room has a ton of character for such a small space. Character thru so many pretty pillows, the style of the bed, and the fact that it isn't DECORATED, as such. I have a bed almost just like this one and am anxious to redo my bedroom...I will use this as a guide when the time comes. I wanted to do it last year but had leg problems which have slowed me down MUCH more than I want them to. It'll get better tho and then, look out...I have tons of projects waiting in the wings.
Have fun today decorating a little area of your space!!

Good Morning, BJ!
Where's your kitchen? you didn't post a picture of your kitchen. It's one of my favorites. I believe it's RED, green, cream? It was so warm and inviting. Yes, there is some great spaces on RMS, including yours. have a wonderful day, Janie
Good Morning BJ,
Wow, what some more beautiful pictures of beautiful homes. They are just gorgeous. "THANK YOU" for sharing them with us. The picture with the farmhouse sink is stunning. Our house that we lost, had one of those old timey sinks where it's just one big sink. It also had a place that you could put your dish drain(you know the rack where you put your dishes after you handwash them LOL). It was white. When I washed dishes there, I had a plastic pan that came from a hospital and I would wash my dishes out of that and rinse them in the actual sink. I'm far from being one of those elegant person's myself. What I do have may not be elegant to some, but it's elegant to me. I enjoyed the tour of rooms you shared with us. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
Morning BJ! I think we have very similar tastes. I agree with everything you said about every picture :-) The pillows on the first bed are so pretty it's making my fingers itchy to sew! ((hugs)) Rosie

Hi BJ...just came by to say "thank you" for the comment you left on my blog the other day.... one never know the effect our words may have in people.... but I've been thinking a lot of what you say: "I love life... every bit of it".... wow, that's awesome.. sometimes I need to remember this, and this week your words have reminded me how great life is....
Have a happy happy friday my friend.
Cielo
That first bedroom photo is so ME.
BJ,
I love all those pictures. that simple white kitchen with the black island ( the one that needs red) is my favorite. Sometimes I log onto RMS, but there are so many photos there now, that I get overwhelmed before I find one I truly love! Thanks for doing the "picking" for me.
Janet
Dear Janie...thank you for the compliment on my kitchen...
hugs, bj
Hi BJ,

Hugs,
Dena
BJ - I can tell that we have very simular taste...especially in the color choice!!! Thank you for sharing that. I need to go over to HGTV and browse myself.
Thanks for sharing these rooms. I've been peeking in on 'Rate My Space', too and I've found some great ideas for my house. I sure do like several you shared here. I especially like the end of the cabinet detail. I have a cabinet end that needs something and now I know what we will do. It won't be the exact thing but it will be wonderful. (My sweetheart doesn't know about it yet!) Oh well, I bought him a new electric miter saw and he hasn't had anything to use it on yet. I think he will like this one. ~Adrienne~
That was fun! I would like to see your kitchen!!
Oh so many wonderful rooms! Love them all. Red is also one of my favorite colors, it just makes me happy!
Hugs,
Donna
Hi BJ:>)
I just love the pictures you have found. I have never been to Rate My Space but this sure makes me want to go take a look! SO many great ideas:>)
Hi BJ,
Very nice photos and beautiful rooms!! Those reds and greens always catch my eye. I can appreciate those rooms with the clean lines but I like having "things"..too many things! :) My taste is the more cluttered look. Just like your mom, I don't do matching!! I like variety!! I tend to decorate to suit ME and like to be surrounded by things I love!! I like cozy!
Thanks for sharing the photos.
BJ, I'm still browsing through your archives and just read about your sleep over with Martha!! I want to do that!! It looked like such fun and it has been so long!! :(
I love these picture just as much as the firt set. I was one of those people who realy enjoyed looking at the first set, I told people on my blog to come over yours and take a peak.
Thank-you for sharing

Hello BJ - fun visiting your site. Especially love the pix of the kitchens. We are "dreaming" about how we want to remodel ours. As much as I love the farmhouse one, I think the "white" one would go better with our house.

BJ
Thanks for sharing such great pictures. Such great ideas! I also like the frame you put around your pictures. I'll have to learn how to do that. It really sets them off.
Cyndy
