A SPATTERING OF CHRISTMAS THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE

All the decorations are out.....

Gifts, all wrapped up so pretty and bright....

A few precious Santas sitting around.....this one is actually 3 little, decorated boxes that will hold cookies and candy for our Christmas Eve gathering at our home. I so love this time with all of our children and grandchildren. Gosh...it seems such a short time ago that we and our small children were having Christmas Eve at MY mom and dad's house. Now...here I am....the grandmother. It still shocks me sometimes when I think about how the time has flown by.

Clusters of candles, smelling so sweet and casting such a lovely glow.......

Using items that you love and that are dear to your heart, such as this silver tray my beautiful daughter brought me from one of her trips.

Little Christmas-ey rugs and towels and hot pads.....

Delicious treats from the store or a special shop.....

Homemade goodies...either from a mix or from scratch.....especially served warm, dripping in butter!!! :) (and we ALL know, ANYTHING dripping in butter is good, right?)

All of it together means Christmas, it means the family is home, it means friends dropping by, it means to reach in your mailbox and get a beautiful card, either from a family member, an old friend or a friend from blogland. It means the UPS person delivering a gift you ordered for someone special and you can hardly wait to give it to them and see their eyes light up.....

But most of all it means THE REASON FOR THE SEASON is so on our minds and in our hearts, more than any other time of the blessed year. It means we are ALL loved......It means we are getting prepared for a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY celebration.

It means that I want to wish you all a Merry CHRISTmas ~ Oh, isn't it such a great time of year? And, I think I have enjoyed it all so much more this year because of all of you! Your wonderful ideas, recipes, laughter and humor, your giving us a nudge when we need it, your support and your tears for us when we stumble......I am just thrilled to have you all as my blogging friends....thank you so much for all you do. ~

MERRY CHRISTMAS !

ADDED NOTE...I forgot to mention that I am going to a SLUMBER PARTY tonight! How exciting is that!! I will take pictures to prove to you that even senior citizens can have Slumber parties and still survive. Well...I may be getting the Cart before the Horse here. Who's to say if I can survive it or not??? Stay tuned and know that I will be a little late in posting tomorrow morning....IF I'm still around to even post!!! hehee hee...Should be a fun time.

Dear BJ,

What a lovely post! Yes, all the trimmings and trappings of Christmas get us excited, but it's the knowledge of what's at the heart of the season that fills us with true joy.

May you have a wonderful and joyous Christmas!

Hey BJ,
I was just passing thru and saw where you added something. A Slumber Party huh? Hmmmm, now what are yall up to and what kind of trouble are yall concocting up? LOL. Do I need to have the Police to stand-by to keep a check on yall there? I do hope you have a good time tonight. I am so looking forward to your post tomorrow now. I'm sorry I spilt some butter on your floor, but that was alot of butter. LOL. That was so much fun. Well, take care my friend and have a great Thursday. Stay away from all Eggnog and Sangria. LOL. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hmmmm, wondering where BJ is? Wonder if she has a hangover from too much eggnog? Has anyone seen BJ? Oh well, I'll just go grab me some goodies that she has stashed in her freezer and have it with my coffee. LOL.

I know you said you would be late in posting, but I am just anxious to hear about your sleepover.
