I love sweets any time of the year but most of the time, I can keep a reign on my cravings....but Christmas time is a whole other story. I just have NO willpower. Can NOT say NO.....
WOW...I was surfing thru blogland, with a full stomach, I might add here, when I happened upon JEN'S site, THE COTTAGE NEST.blogspot.com/ and ran face first into this sugary treat. If you will go over to her delightful site, you will find a recipe for this dream pie!
Needless to say, my sweet tooth started aching so bad I could barely concentrate on anything else. I went to another blog but.....JEN kept calling me back. "Oh, to heck with it...I KNOW I have something good in that kitchen that's dripping in sugar" so off I went.....
NOW, if you will remember...I had this piece of homemade, pecan pie.... And, if I'd not eaten every bit of the pie, I could fix a cup of coffee and pull this out of the freezer and just laughed at JEN...."HA..." I would have said...." I, too, have a scrumptious piece of homemade pie!! Just check it out!!"
BUT...oh, noooooo....I have already told you that I eat every single thing I bake until it is every bit gone. So....when I saw JEN'S luscious looking pie, sweet- hungry hit me like a ton of bricks. To the kitchen, looking thru the freezer...NOTHING...NOTTA....ZERO sweets in there. I was reduced to this little sweet, cute as a button Christmas cake that you buy in a BOX, wrapped in plastic wrap, no where getting even CLOSE to Homemade and containing about 8 of them. (Par for the course..I only had ONE because I HAD ALREADY DEVOURED THE REST!!!!! SUCH A BUMMER! Sooo, here's that little, lone Christmas cake that TRIED to take the place of JEN'S homemade pie but it fell 'waaaaay short!!
So, JEN was lucky..BJ wasn't !!!! And, JEN had the last laugh !!!! :(
So, please...don't eat ALL of what you bake.....SAVE SOME FOR ME!! :)
happy day!

Good Morning BJ,
Are you trying to get back at me here? LOL. Now, I am drooling on my keyboard. LOL. Jen's pie does look yummy. I don't do no baking because I'm not the baking type. Now let me do the other kind of cooking and I can do that as you know. LOL. I am having my last cup of coffee and I need that piece of pie to go with it. LOL. It is cold here this morning. It is 28 degrees with a windchill of 18 degrees. That's cold for this part of the country. Well, take care my friend and have a great Thursday. May God Bless You and Yours. Your little piece of cake is just cute. My girls love those. I do too of course.
Hugs,
Karen H.
Oh no, you and Karen are killing me with all your food talk. LOL I'm baking cookies on Saturday. Just pop over and we'll have some cookies and coffee. Sorry, it's 13 degrees and too cold to sit on my porch. How about around the kitchen table?
Nan
Oh, you are so funny! My husband and I are trying REALLY HARD not to eat anything bad...so, no cookies, no cake, no pie! I had a few animal crackers last night, and he told me "NO COOKIES!" I said they didn't count because they were "crackers." :)
xoxo,
Mary
Oh we should call this post BJ's revenge! I'm headed to the treadmill as soon as I hop offa here and now you've got my tummy growlin. I would bake you a whole pie and deliver it to your front door if I could. Bless your heart. I'm sorry you had to make do with that little Christmas cake but it sure does look yummy to me this morning.
Oh BJ you poor thing, having to settle with that Christmas cake. I do the same thing, I made an apple crisp and it barely lasted 2 days! Why is it so darned hard to just have ONE piece!?
PJ
You poor thing ! Wanting a pie and stuck with a Christmas tree. After work today, I might just try to bake pies. Yeah right.

My, oh my, you do have sweet tooth....that's probably why you are such a sweet lady!
I'm right there with you, girl! My sweet tooth seems to have taken complete control...so, I'll try, try, try to save some for you...but no promises:)

Mmm.. pie! Yummy! Hope I can find time this weekend to do some baking.. It doesn't seem like the holidays yet since I haven't baked (other than a couple of pies at Thanksgiving) :)
HI,
I am with you there on the sweet tooth! At this time of year chocolate is my best friend and my worst enemy...... We get more of it, which I try to resist, then you want it more!

Well, how would have willpower to say no to that delicious mouth-watering, to*die*for piece of homemade PIE???? I hope you save me a big piece...
Have a lovely day.

Oh BJ, you sound a lot like me! I love Christmas goodies...especially cookies, and sugar cookies to be exact! It seems as though cookies are better at Christmas than any other time of the year! Oh yea, I love egg nog too!!
Merry Christmas...
Beverly
While the pie looks quite yummy, I'm a potatoes and gravy kinda gal. I can pass up the sweets but not the second helping of carbs.
Wow, I feel as though you are PERFECTLY describing me, and my sweet tooth...IT ACHE'S ALL OF THE TIME!!! I especially feel it kicking in when I see YOUR blog. That's it...I have a candle burning (Sugar Cookie Scent) I just distinguished it. I cannot take it. I am getting off of here so I can get dolled up...baby Lexi and I are going to the store for some goodies as soon as she wakes from her sweet slumbering nap. (Now I'll never fit into that dress for DH's company Christmas party next weekend!!!) P.S. Love the Santa's...I actually have a few similar looking ones on my tree, let me guess..."ABC Distributing" Catalogs? Love them, and you...you are just so stinking cute....you should write a book. You are so great with discription, you're so eloquent, and your personality would jump off of the pages...just like it does off the PC!!! You'd have a best seller on your hands...I promise!!!
P.S.S. Love that fabulous Berry Wreath...and why haven't I seen your beautiful Roman Shades before? Would look so great in my house! Now I've got pie AND curtain ENVY!
Groan...now I'm hungry for something sweet! lol My problem is that I have a lot of my Christmas baking done and in the freezer plus all the chocolates I made, the fruit cake, etc....I REFUSE to eat them before Christmas!!!! lol I must pretend I have NOTHING made!! hehe But, oh my, just one chocolate might do the trick.....xox
BJ,
That cookie looks delicious and so does Jen's pie. I love homemade apple pie, but don't keep the fixin's in the house because I am diabetic. When I bake, I keep some for hubby and give the rest to the grandsons. They love sweet stuff, but I don't bake often, as even the boys need to watch their weight. Kids today don't get enough exercise.
Thanks for sharing all of these delicious treats. I would be heading to the kitchen for something to satisfy my sweet tooth if there was anything sweet in the house. Enjoyed my visit, as always.
Blessings,
Mary
BJ...You just come on over to my house. I would love to share my sweet treats with you. ~ xoxo Lynn
LOL! Oh Mizz BJ, I do declare that you are my entertainment for the day! I too fling myself into the kitchen, bake up a storm.......devour the storm........then come whimpering back to see what's left, which is usually nothing. Then another baking storm builds up again! And around we go! lol I did make apricot logs yesterday though if you'd care for one......or three?
Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
Looks like you've made all the bloggers hungry! I'm still reeling from Thanksgiving, so don't have a sweet tooth in my head right now. Go ahead and enjoy those cute 'packaged' treats.
alice
Love the pie. That is my fav. I do keep the little cakes around too. Kaytlynn loves them.
BJ, you poor thing! I don't even have a little cake in my cupboard so you're doing better than me! I'm hoping to bake next week..want a cookie? Michelle
Good evening BJ. Your cookie looks scrumptious. Right now I am in the midst of blogging and baking. It's the only way to keep me from eating everything. If you lived closer we could share, oh well I guess we do via pictures.
LOL BJ! I too am hungering for that pecan pie! It is my favorite kind and I didn't make one for Thanksgiving....I am going to have to make one soon.
I love your shades behind your wreath. Did you have them custom made?
