IT WAS A BLAST.....from the past !!

ONCE UPON A TIME......there were two friends and they decided to have a SLUMBER PARTY, only to be told by my 10 year old granddaughter that now it is known as "A SLEEP OVER"!

These two friends, having known each other over 60 years, decided that they weren't too old to still PLAY....

GOOD GRIEF....I don't even come close to looking like the same person!!!!!!!!! This is pretty scary!

Now, being invited to a SLEEP OVER is something I had to get ready for and I sure as heck wanted to look FESTIVE at this time of year, ya know!

And, the first thing that greeted me was these hot pink houseshoes my friend was wearing...they looked like they had been scared!! :)

Some pretty cute tee shirts there...

We both have changed A LOT since high school....in more ways than one!

Ha hahahhaaa...I like this one

Excuse me but I was a little cold, no bra and you know what happens to some of our "body parts" when they get cold....I didn't want you lookin' at 'em!! HA !

OK, all the posing behind us, we are getting settled down for a night of movies...

This one we watched and wondered if ANYONE ever loved ANYONE ELSE the way Johnny Cash loved June.

In this one, we laughed until we could barely catch our breaths....

During watching this EXCELLENT movie, we all fell head over heels in love with RUSSELL CROWE.....*sigh*

And, of course, we had to have ......OUR SNACKS !!

THAT WAS A HUGH BAG OF chips and look at that bowl! I didn't know they made them that large!

What's a party of any kind without PIZZA????

Someone said "Put the bras in the freezer" and I said "NOT MINE....I'm not wearing one!"

Everyone else KNEW this nice, "I would love to be THAT size" bra did NOT belong to me (I have to admit here that most of the time I don't wear a bra is because I am really not big enuf "there" to even NEED one!") We didn't put this one in the freezer...that was funny when we were young...now that we're old, ANYTHING uncomfortable is NOT FUNNY! :)

OK, it's getting late, we're winding down and have one more movie to go....WE NEED HOT CHOCOLATE!

With LOTS of marshmellows !!

Yep, here we are, getting all snuggled down, wrapped up in a beautiful, hand crocheted afghan, with our chocolate....beginning to look sleepy.

Time to head for that spare bedroom....

Awh.....a lovely little tree, all sit up in "my" bedroom. I LOVE trees in the bedroom.

ooooooo, I was sooooo ready for this. I was asleep before my head hit the pillow!

I was still so sleepy this morning when I woke up...I tried to take a picture of the time but I couldn't even SEE the clock...much less get it all in focus!

I am sorry I didn't get a picture of our good breakfast...waffles, maple syrup, bacon, orange juice and pots of hot coffee. I must have been too hungry to think about pictures!! Haha

We did have a fabulous time....I loved not thinking about ANYTHING else...just being in the moment.

Thanks, Martha, my friend, for a WONDERFUL time in your lovely home!

SEE YA LATER.......

Good Afternoon BJ,
Well now, it's about time you got up. I have done been here twice looking for you.(Check yesterday's post) LOL. I was beginning to think you may have spiked the hot chocolate. LOL. Sounds like yall did have a wonderful time. I would have loved to have been there with yall. I love the movie "Walk the Line". Johnny did love his June. After watching this movie a few times myself with hubby, it reminds me of the love my hubby has for me. Yeap, I would say that my hubby is very much like Johnny. And of course I'm not June, but I have the same love for him as well. I have never in my life been loved by a man as the one I have now. It just nearly brings tears to my eyes and I get a lump in my throat just thinking about his love for me. Okay, I got sidetracked, but you asked. I wore one of those bra's when I was born. ROFLMBO. I am a plus size womand and let's just say I am well blessed in that department. Too much if you ask me. LOL. I am always telling my hubby I need a breast reduction and he says I don't. I tell him he isn't the one toting them around 24/7. LOL. Thank you so much BJ for sharing your "SLEEP OVER" with us. I had a great time. It really made my day. Well, take care my friend and have a great Friday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

You sound like you had a blast at your sleep over. I am so happy you got to spend a whole night with your friend.

That bowl really was huge!

That was great! I loved the picture of you covering up, hahahahahaha. You ladies have stamina. I don't think I would have been able to stay away for all of those movies.

You look like you had a ball. And I can only hope that in 30 years when my best friend and I have a 60 year friendship going, we'll do the same thing!

Love,
Julie

You are just too funny. Where was my invitation? I would have been there with the peppermint schnapps for the hot chocolate. It would have only taken me a few hours to get there. You could have had breakfast ready for me.
Looks like great fun.You looked like Audrey Hepburn when you were young.
My husband took his sleeping bag over to my nieces sleepover when she was about 13. He walked into the family room, rolled open his sleeping bag and said "Where's my spot?" They said, Oh Dan, you don't have your pajamas. He said that he doesn't where any. You heard eight little girls giggling away.
Have a good one.

I mean he doesn't "wear" any, not "where" any. Sheesh........I need to proof my comments.

How much fun! I am envious of the idea. A Beautiful mind is one of my favorite movies. I will have to see if I can get some of my GF's to give this a try, with exception to the bra. They could just put dixie cups in the freezer for me as that is about my size! Thanks for sharing a great idea!

You girls had a great time. I can tell you really enjoyed yourself. That hot chocolate looks sooo good! Wish I could have a cup. I'm diabetic, so have to pass on that.

Yes, it is now called a "sleepover" or so my grandson tells me.

I enjoyed visiting with you. I'm so glad you had a good time on your sleepover.

Blessings,
Mary

BJ, I feel the same way about Johnny and June. He loved her soooooo much that he couldn't live without her, literally. He died just a few months after she did. Some things were meant to be, and they were meant to be together.
