BOOMAMA'S CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR.....

I know...I know...this looks a LOT like the witch's house in HANSEL AND GRETEL but...it's not. This is MY little fairy-dusted house and you will have to get really small to tour it so stand real still and let me sprinkle fairy dust on you and then you can come in !!!!

(actually this little gingerbread house belongs to my beautiful daughter and her children....isn't it the cutest thing!)

When I see my little Christmas bowl here, I am always reminded of the goofy joke, "Every one was feeling merry so she got up and went home!!" How red-neck is THAT?? haha

Please come right in and make yourself at home...Nothing fancy here. We are plain, country folks and with 10 grandchildren, not too serious. Things are kept pretty light here at Christmas time and all thru the year, actually.

Come with me into the dining room. I have the table in front of the fireplace , all ready for you.

This picture is actually BEFORE I decorated for Christmas...but I wanted you to see the benches sweet hubby made for me so I wouldn't have to have so many chairs. There's another blue and white bench on the other side of the table. Each bench holds 4 little butts or 3 larger ones! ;)

I found this vintage pine mantle and surround in a thrift store several years ago for $50.00. I brought it home, painted it a soft white and it is, by far, one of my favorite pieces. I love it in my dining room....

There's some wine and egg nog....

coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Fix yourself a nice, hot cup and have a piece of......

cheese cake, a decorated Christmas cookie or....

a few of these cheese/sausage balls. Remember these? I made a few extra to have for this lovely open house that Boomama is hosting for all of us. Please stop by her place and tell her how much we all appreciate her time and energy she has put into all of this. She has such a wonderful blog, too.

OOPS, I nearly forgot these Chocolate Bars that Pea over at peascorner gave me the recipe for. Mine do not look as nice as hers but, boy howdy, they sure do taste good. I think I was in too big of a hurry and cut mine before it was quite time. Thanks, Pea...If you've not been by her site, you are in for a treat! She is one good cook and shares recipes all the time.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS DISHES with a passion. I use solid, large red plates and solid white plates, silver chargers and smaller Christmas plates of different patterns. I love to mix and match my place settings for a casual and fun look. Usually, by the time we get to the desserts, we pull out the decorated paper plates which I like, too.

I like using my treasured, vintage blue and white transfer ware at Christmas time, too.

I've had some of these dishes a very long time and I have a few new ones this year.

I also love the different napkins I use at this time of year...just something fun and different. The little kids all love this kind of table, too. Seems they eat better off of a cute, festive plate.

I am going to have to curb my buying them, tho....I am running out of room to store them. I NEED A BIGGER HUTCH.

HO, HO, HO....MERRY CHRISTMAS.

The Christmas table cloth belonged to my mom. I really love it. Just seems to make her a part of my Christmas dinner....she is always with me, of course, but just touching something that I know she touched is special.

OK....this is about the extent of decorations in my bedroom. Next year, I will put my 3 little trees up in here...I just ran out of time this year. So much to do and so little time.....*sigh*

A wire basket full of little gifts on my sofa table in the living room....

I love red but I am afraid I took it over the top in this picture! :( I did change the red pillow for a green, which helped a lot.....I am one of those that, if one spoonful is good, I take 2....overkill....too much....don't know when to stop. I took the gifts off the top of the hutch to calm things down a bit.

The infamous 17 stockings......OH, DEAR. By the time I get all of these hung, I really don't need much more decorations other than our tree....

Here's a few hanging on the left side of the fireplace.....

a few more on the right side...

And, all of them, in their glory! I have a fabulous story to tell you about my wood burning stove but will save it for another time. I know you have lots of sites and homes to visit so I am trying to keep this posting as short as I can.....

AND...my little Santa tree. Do you see my Mark Roberts, pink fairy on the tip top?

Thanks so much for taking a short tour of my Christmas home...it's been fun and now...

I want to go take the tour of YOUR home....

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL........AND MANY, MANY BLESSINGS ~

Good Morning BJ,
Well, since I am your first visitor, just give me the whole bottle of wine. LOL. I want several of the sausage balls as well. And of course, I can't resist those Bars that you made and got the recipe from Pea. Your home is just beautiful. I love how you have all of the Stockings hung by the Fireplace with care. I love all of your Christmas Dishes also. I'll try not to mess them up for you. LOL. Everything is just gorgeous BJ. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. I really enjoyed my visit. I wasn't able to participate this year due to financial problems, but hopefully next year I will be able to. I was so looking forward to it, but I have to do what I have to do. I didn't post this weekend because it was a busy weekend for us. I did put up a new post for today. Well, take care my friend and have a great Monday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
P.S. I'm taking the bottle of wine home with me. LOL. I'm grabbing a few sausage balls as well so I can snack on them while I do my visiting. LOL.

Hello Bj ... greetings from a frosty freezing Bath U.K.
I think you are well and truly ready for Christmas looking at your fabulous Christmas decorations..
Now I am curious about your wood burner! I wish we had one in our home.. I did have one in a cottage I once owned .. it was soooo hot that we had to open the windows to cool down.
With love Michele xx
P.s Johnny Depp sends his love.. he just came round to borrow a cup of sugar!

Well one day maybe!

Hi BJ, What a fun time I had touring your home. So festive and I love all the stockings. And a fireplace in the dining room. How special is that? I have a an old country bench at my dining room table too and love it. I just had to sample the sausage balls. I love them but only make them for Christmas breakfast every year. This year one of the farmers my husband has morning coffee with gave us some homemade sausage. Can't wait to use it in the sausage balls. xoxo Lynn

Hello dear BJ:-) I'm so sorry for being such a terrible commenter these days, I just haven't had much time to visit all my friends. Once the holiday rush is over I should be back to my normal routine! lol I sooo enjoyed seeing your home all decked out for Christmas, everything looks so beautiful and welcoming. I love all your dishes as well! I'm so glad you tried the NoBake Fudge Square...they do look a bit different so I'm wondering...did you not add the graham crumbs & vanilla extract to the boiling mixture? If not, that's what you're supposed to do! lol Then you have to make sure the square is completely cooled off in the fridge before you put the icing on and refrigerate again until the icing is set. Let me know if you have any problems with it the next time:-) xoxo
