BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE......

The weather man is saying an ice storm is on it's way to our part of the country. These pictures aren't from around here...just some off the net that I thought were awesome.....but, oh, so cold looking.

Poor fella....

I hate ice storms but if we HAVE to have one, there's a few things that help my feelings a little.

Like, as long as I can have a nice, roaring fire in the fireplace (and a room that looks like THIS)....... (this is one out of Better Homes and Gardens, tho...SHOOT!)

a couple of bottles of the 'fruit of the vine'........

a HUGH bowl of this........

Instead of saltine crackers, I sure would rather have a big slice of SOMEONE'S buttermilk cornbread with this BEEF STEW. I won't mention any names, but her initials are KAREN over at KAREN'S KORNER !!! Oh, and if you haven't been over to see her, slip on over. Besides making killer cornbread, she has a delightful blog, too!! (Don't tell her I sent you, tho....she may eat up all that cornbread from me!!)

STAY WARM, LADIES ~
NOTE; The ice storm didn't get here last night. Now they are saying we will have snow tonight! hmmmmmmm

Good Morning BJ,
ICE, I pray yall don't get any. So many people in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma have been hit hard. My hubby will be going up into Missouri later today and tonight right into that stuff. I am just worried sick about him. He assured me tho he will pull over if he has too. I hope it all melts before he gets there. I'm like you, I had much rather have SNOW as to the ICE. Please keep my hubby in your prayers. It was another foggy morning here when I took hubby to his truck around 5:40a.m. It had lifted some when I took the girls to school around 7:30a.m. Rain is moving in tonight they say. I won't tell anyone about KAREN. LOL. Thank you so much for the sweet comment. You are such a dear. Just to let you know, I made another fresh pan of just regular cornbread last night to go with our leftover White Beans and Ham. LOL. I forgot to get some buttermilk over the weekend, so I had to use regular milk. I did put alot of butter in the mix before I cooked it and then just before it was good and done, I added some more butter to the top and stuck it back in the oven to finish and it was oh, so good. LOL. I have a few pieces left. You want me to email them to you? LOL. Well, take care my friend and have a great Tuesday. Stay inside and stay warm. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Brrr BJ, Hope you don't get the ice! Although it is beautiful to look at is also very dangerous. Prayers go out to families of those killed in the recent ice storms. Stay warm and enjoy your soup, wine, and maybe cornbread!

The Ice is here in Missouri....and a lot of it. So it's very cold here 21. We're to get more of this YUK to night.

Where we live in Oklahoma we did get the ice...electricity was off for about 20 hours. Husband hooked up the generator -so for the most part we made it okay.

The weatherman says we could get some bad stuff...hope he wrong.

Stay nice and warm you hear. I hate ice storms, they make getting around so difficult.

All the ice is to the north of us. I like how you'd deal with it. LOL My kind of dealing!
Have a good one.

Hi Bj, what wonderful images!
That soup looks mighty good and the fruit of the vine! Roaring fire is just the ticket I quite agree.

Hi Sweet Nothings, Double Yuk! I hate ice storms. Last year an ice storm busted up my beautiful magnolia tree. But it's a beautiful sight to see when the sun rises in the morning and makes all that ice twinkle. Beef stew and cornbread....there's nothing better on a cold winter's eve. xoxo Lynn

I'll pick you up and we'll go over to Karen's for some of that cornbread of hers...would you believe I've never had cornbread before?? I know, I'm so deprived! lol It's just not something you hear of over here. I'm SO pleased you tried the No Bake Fudge Square...I've been making it for over 32 years and my mom made it before me so it's been in the family for MANY years:-) Of course you can post the recipe on your blog!! Good thing you didn't get that ice storm...as you say, the pictures look beautiful but it can be so dangerous! xox
