COLD NIGHT, HOT SOUP ~

Last night, we had our gathering of our home church at Handsome Son's home and our group ALWAYS shares a meal together, each Sunday night. And, talk about great meals....everyone trying to outdo the other...you know how that goes!! This was more or less a potluck dinner and since it was a cold evening (a very light sprinkling of snow), a couple of the sweet ladies made homemade soups. Talk about hitting the spot.....Ummmm, UM!!

Sweet daughter*in*law made the BEST homemade stew that I've ever put in my mouth..EVER!
I will find out her SECRET ingredient just as fast as I can and share with you! Soooo good ~~

A homemade Italian soup that was to die for. I don't have the recipe but when I get it, I'll be sure to pass it on to you! Spicy...but not TOO spicy. Just right and so full of flavor.

AND.....of course, CORNBREAD........ hot, buttered and delicious. What would a bowl of homemade soup or stew be without CORNBREAD?? AND....a HUGH slice of onion, OF COURSE!

Being with so many people that I love dearly made this delicious meal taste about a thousand times better! How blessed I am.

OH !!!!!!!! And, did I mention the Vanilla Creme Pie, Pecan Pie, Angel Food Cake, Fudge Cake and Sweet Whipped Creme????? GOOD GRIEF !!! I am STILL full..............
Blessings, bj

Good Morning BJ,
I was going to comment a bit ago, but had to stop and take the girls back to school. Thank you for the comment about my blog. My good friend Diane, of Diane's Place, did mine. I have no clue as how to do it. I did put the Christmas Countdown Header on there. That was pretty easy. But Diane is my Blog Interior Decorator. LOL. Soup does sound delicious. I would like to make some but the first part of the week is pretty busy, so it will have to be something quick and easy. I can't wait to get the recipe's. I don't do any kind of spicy things. My mouth and stomach can't take it. LOL Hubby and girls likes spicy stuff. It is raining here again today. It is 43 degrees and it is foggy outside too. I hope that fog goes away since I will be traveling out of town tonight. I don't like to do that. Well, take care my friend and have a Blessed Monday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

All these soups and cornbread have made me downright hungry! They look so good.

What a fantastic meal. I had to laugh at your comment because that's what those "tarts" are...flaky biscuits and bittersweet baking bars. The time it takes me to tuck in the chocolate, bake, and serve it less than 20 minutes.

Oh, BJ - I am sooo hungry after reading about your dinner. I love soup/stew with cornbread on a cold wintry night. Here in eastern NC, it's only been cold enough for soup a couple of days. As a matter of fact it was in the high 70s today. I will be looking forward to getting the recipes!! BTW my email address is tomfay@gotricounty.com. I'd love to hear from you. I thoroughly enjoy your site - it's the first one I check every day!! I have many of the same things you have in your pictures. Have a great day!!
