The Cock of the Walk ~

I've always LIKED roosters but I never really intended to COLLECT them. It just happened!
One day, I looked around and there it was.... a rooster collection !

My sweet daughter-in-law gave me this pretty, handpainted tray several years ago for Christmas. I still just love it, Kathy !!

Yep, one holds salt and the other pepper. They, and their cute little tray they are sitting on, go with the larger tray above.

The vintage, clear glass rooster bookends are extra special because a cousin gave them to me years ago.

This wooden guy is probably one of my favorites. I got him several years ago at a thrift store for 50 cents.... I love thrift shopping and haven't been in awhile. I better get out there and check things out. What if there's another 50 cent rooster out there??

This plate is a Fitz and Floyd and I like it but the colors just don't seem to work in my house... Maybe I have too much black around? I thought of a cousin when I bought this plate (she collects Fitz and Floyd) so I am thinking it was meant for her which is why I am not satisfied with it in my house!!??!! hmmmmm

I don't even remember where I got this little guy !! Scary....they seem to multiply like rabbits!:)

This black and white fella sits on my counter in my red kitchen...at least, for now. I tend to change things up pretty often around my house. I get tired of the same thing so I "rotate"!

This big ole, metal rooster has a little door in his side that opens for a candle...I've never put one in him but might try it and see how it looks.
HAVE A HAPPY MONDAY ~

Morning, bj -- I'm glad to see there is someone else out there who just stumbles into collections. I was beginning to think I was strange! I love your roosters, especially the plate with the balck polka dots. I have some salt and pepper shakers, too, and an iron rooster very like your candle holder. and you're right, they do seem to multiply like rabbits!

Oh, and I almost forgot to say "thank you so much!" for your sweet comments about my house. I had a good chuckle thinking about those HGTV riots, too!

I love your collection of Roosters! My real life rooster is such a character, the way he struts around like he rules the world..LOL! You have to laugh at and yet admire their proud, sometimes arrogant nature.

I love the Roots memory boxes you made for your children. What a treasure:)

I'm totally jealous! I have just started collecting them and I have quite a few already. But can you ever have too many? I don't think so. I love love love roosters. Anytime you get tired of a piece in your collection - send it my way. I'll be sure to put it up in a place of honor, of course!

I love your roosters--especially the blue-and-yellow plate. That's one of my favorite color combos.

Love your roosters.

I more or less stumbled into collecting angels. Like you I looked up one day and saw a collection. Now it seems as if everyone I know buys me an angel when they see something interesting.

Bj, you know how much I love roosters, but didn't know you collected them too! I love all of yours. To me, roosters are so funny and cheerful. I could sit and watch real ones all day. I'm out of room---whatever will I do?
How about roosters in the bedroom or bathroom---oh me, what's a gal to do?

It sure brought a smile to my day to see your roosters safely posted.

What beautiful roosters bj! You have a wonderful collection, and they all are just lovely... That's how it was for me with teddy bears. I would pick up one or two I could not live without and before I knew it, I had little bears everywhere! They bring so much joy don't they. Enjoy your week...

Smiles to you...

Hi bj.... I know what you mean by the phrase: "One day, I looked around and there it was.... a rooster collection"... Ja! I've never considered myself a "collector", but my dinner plates seems to be adding up and up... so I think you can call me a collector after all... je!

You just can't resist the temptation of having more of what you like... that's all.

Have a good night!

Love,

Cielo
